Looks like the new Nissan Frontier will be reliable. V6, crew cabin long bed, nothing complicated. Well done, Nissan!

Clean, simple, muscular, and yet retro at the same time. A splash of tech here and there. Not bad at all. I especially like the pro x edition.

Just bought this exact truck a few weeks back to replace my 20 year old Toyota Tundra. Other than the Nissan being about 2" narrower, it's nearly identical dimensionally. In fact, the Frontier LWB has almost a foot longer wheelbase than my Tundra! It's not widely known but the Frontier LWB has the exact same wheelbase as the current Titan (139.8). Both Nissans are built on the F-Alpha platform so no real surprise. As a Toyota fanboy, I really wanted a new Tacoma or new Tundra but I feel Toyota really let me down. The current V6 Tacoma has a terrible drive train. I rented one twice to pull a 2,500 pound trailer from AZ to CA. Accelerator to the floor to get any power, hours-long high RPMs, endlessly shifting transmission, and a bad driving position wore me out. Looked at the new Tundra but turbo engines are a deal breaker. Also, the eye-watering "market adjustment" pricing and overwrought cartoonish styling completely killed it for me. As for driving dynamics, the Frontier feels like an updated version of my '03 Tundra. Traditional truck feel with updated features. Perfect. It's the truck Toyota should have built.

How much did you pay for your new Frontier last year?
@thetinysideoftiny76257 ай бұрын
I bought it in August of 2022 for $39,800 OTD. It’s an SV LWB (long wheel base) with no additional option packages. Bought it at Larry H. Nissan in Mesa, AZ. They were great to deal with. Zero games. Zero dealer add-ons. Negotiating took all of 10 minutes w $800 off MSRP. They even surprised me with free tint when I picked it up. Been sending all my friends and family to them. Tell them Tom sent you 😉

Need more information about all those vibrations throughout the truck while in gear stopped at a traffic light. Whats that all about? I don’t want to have to slip it into neutral every time I stop at a light. That could be a deal breaker.
@toronado4552 жыл бұрын
I wonder if the idle vibrations would go away if the A/C was off. That might be the culprit. Still, unacceptable on a brand new vehicle. Thanks for an honest video! 🏆

My baby like mines except 2015 Rogue SL, the new Frontier is nice love this midsize truck. It is worth purchasing it seems Nissan really making some great looking cars saw some new changes with 2023 Altima just should had changed taillights they are bit old now.

This truck might be a winner. If Toyota comes with a 4 cylinder for the new Toyota many Toyota fans might go with this truck.

I don’t understand why all these truck makers keep making the trucks with a 4 foot bed , the wheel well starts right behind the cab, this one is nice four doors and a 6’ bed
@sharkskin3448 Жыл бұрын
💯! Fwiw, this bed is 3" wider and 1"+ deeper than the Taco 6'. The Taco is 3/4" longer. Yes. I measured. The rear seat flip is better in the Taco for cargo. I like this Frontier. I'm considering trading down from full size Tundra. That's why I'm obsessing on size.
@chrisa9373 Жыл бұрын
Neither do I. Infuriates me actually. I call them a bi#$h beds. 5' isn't even a bed, more like a cargo box. If you can't even haul a 2x4x8 in one, then it's hardly even a truck. More like SUV with a cargo box. Real men need a 6' or better bed. The sales lots are full of ProX's that will never haul a full sheet of sheetrock, and never see the "off road".

I'm a big fan of the Frontier - love the old-school analog gauges and control layout. But it desperately needs an entry-level, 4-cylinder engine to help with the mpgs. I'd get the base model King Cab S trim, for the best value.
@xBeeGee2 жыл бұрын
A manual option would be cool too
@newwavetheo2 жыл бұрын
That used to exist up until 2020, when the new 3.8L V6/9-speed auto replaced the old 4.0L V6/5-speed auto or 6-speed manual and the 2.5L 4-cyl (QR25DE)/5-speed auto or 5-speed manual. The 4-cylinders didn't seem to sell all that well, and it didn't help that it was a King Cab exclusive engine so it makes sense why the V6 is standard.

Question, did the long wheelbase SV with long bed did it ride a little bit better than the short wheelbase model you drove prior? I'm hearing conflicting information I know that long wheelbase is supposed to feel better on the highway.

I would love to know this as well!
@danrenfroe201611 ай бұрын
@@ddd4702 hello. I did get to drive a 24 SV Crew Cab long bed long wheel base. In my opinion it does ride better. The extra distance between the axles really makes a difference. It is an absolute land yacht to turn through. I am picking up my new truck hopefully this week. (Took awhile for the correct truck to be available. )

I would definitely buy a Frontier SV LWB if it was better equipped, but you don't even get any of the best features with the long bed. I don't know what Nissan was thinking, but it's ridiculous. This is a $40k truck with the tech package (and 4WD as I would get it) and you still don't get basic sh*t like heated seats, LED lights, sunroof, etc. Pretty pathetic honestly.
@georgewashington75746 ай бұрын
This right here ^. Most expensive truck with the least amount of options. All because it’s a long bed.

I have to say the red on this truck is horrid (coming through on my screen) I like the other reds you flashed for options. BUT this red reminds me of... wait for it. Porsche's $3,270 Carmine Red. Another red I hate and you pay 3k for it! Like REALLY?! My favorite red of all time is 1 Infrared $595 by Lexus - 2 Valencia Red Pearl $6,000 by Acura & - 3 Soul Red Crystal $595 by Mazda
