You forget to mention something i discovered a month into owning my new Maverick XLT hybrid; you can start the car from your phone anywhere and it wont shut off when you get in, however it takes the key inserted to use the shift knob and drive away; a great theft deterrent. Now i can start the Maverick from my bedroom and get into an air conditioned vehicle on hot South Florida days or get into a warm vehicle when it gets cold. Awesome! ❤❤❤

The gas guzzling is the #1 reason I've never owned a truck, but the Maverick hybrid solves the problem. I wish there was a regular cab version available with a longer bed, but for the price, it's pretty amazing. Now if there WAS a compact pickup based on Prius running gear... that would be a smash hit, too. Make it happen, Toyota!

Trucks have come a long way. My '22 F150 Powerboost hybrid is not a gas guzzler. I probably get better fuel economy than you do in urban driving and out on the highway I can easily obtain 9.5-10.0 L/100kms. All of this from a 430hp truck with 570lb/ft of torque.

I have a 2024 Hybrid Lariat, I do 80-90% highway driving. I have been getting 38ish mpg on the highway at 70 in the cold early morning and in the low 40's on my way home (same route back just in reverse). In the city I frequently see 50+ mpg. So far I am seeing about 40.7-41.2 mpg on average per tank.

I've had my 2022 XL hybrid for 2 yrs and 33,000mi. I do a lot of hauling with it and haven't had a problem for space or weight. I've towed a 5X8 cargo trailer and milage went down to 22mpg heavily loaded and 30mpg on the way back after I dropped the load. I used tow/haul which keeps gas engine running. Typically I get 40-42 mpg per fillup. I have an XLT hybrid in production and may get it this year yet.

However, I scooped up a Maverick Hybrid this week because someone else backed out of this one. About 100 miles in and my total MPG is about 31-32, and improving. We traded our older Tundra and Avalon for the Maverick Hybrid Lariat. Our main decision maker was the ability to tow this particular configuration with all four wheels down. We have a motorhome and it is getting hard to find anything but Jeeps to tow. We are historically Toyota buyers, this goes back to the 85 Toyota Van, 94 Landcruiser, 07 Tundra, 12 Camry Hybrid and the 14 Avalon Hybrid. So the Maverick piqued our interest out of the gate with the ability to tow on trips with our motorhome. Not to mention the mind blowing mileage we are getting with the Maverick. Our Avalon never got even close. Kirk, I do have to agree with the brake grab at the last moment of braking to a stop. That would be my biggest complaint.

I don't like the comparison in driving dynamics to something like a Ridgeline. The Ridgeline, although also a unibody, is a MIDSIZE 'truck' vs the Maverick, which is a compact. The thing you called a 'coin holder' at the back of the centre arm rest is actually a notch you can use to hook things to. Ford did a really cool thing and released a bunch of blueprints for 3d printers for ppl to be able to male their own things to hang there. The designs include anything from cupholders, waste basket, etc. If I remember correctly there is a QR code you can scan to access the plans. All the best from southern Ontario, Canada!

I own and lease lots of Ford trucks for both personal use and for our businesses. I'm not sure what reliability issues you're referring to. I've had some recalls on our F150s like wiper motor replacement, replacement of a BDM for a parking lamp flicker, and an inspection of a wire cable attached to the rear axle, this cable is to actuate the parking brake and ours passed inspection fine it was not frayed. There might have been a couple of other nothing burger recalls and all of these recalls are looked after during routine maintenance. The last one was for the wire cable inspection and we were given a courtesy car to use for 90 mins while they dealt with that non issue. Currently I have a '22 hybrid Powerboost 502A Lariat and it's a fantastic truck..... we've had it for 20 months and have driven it 45000 trouble free kms..... it's a great tow vehicle to tow our 6000 lb RV and with the built in 7.2 kWh generator it powers our RV when we dry camp. The rest of our F150s, currently 15, live their life in our open pit mine and quarry and our mechanical engineering consulting firm. I can't afford down time and would never put up with it........ our Ford trucks are dead nuts reliable. Be careful not to conflate petty recalls with a truck's true reliability.

Your Right. He person has a Chanel and explain. Personally I don’t know why anyone would drive 80,000 miles to 100,000 miles without transmission services you’re asking for trouble. I’m old man/old school on preventive maintenance. My old Toyota Sequoia currently has 221,000 miles and drives and shifts like a new truck. Oil change every 3,000 miles or 3 moths which ever comes first. Transmission service Drain and fill every 20,000 miles . My 2024 Ford Maverick just got built and will receive it with next 3 weeks. I will change its oil at 800 miles aka break in period after that every 3k or 3 moths same with transmission service train and fill every 15k as long as I can get 150k miles out of This Ford Maverick I’m good. I don’t expect to last 20 years or 400k miles like a Toyota Hybrid

Towing limit on the hybrid is a deal beaker for me. Only 2000 lbs? I have a Ridgeline, which I love, and it has a 5000 lbs tow limit. I don't tow a lot, just motorcycles. With the Maverick you couldn't even rent a motorcycle trailer from U-Haul and tow a sport bike. The Ridgeline also has much more room and is a dream on the highway. Much more stable than the Maverick. Naturally aspirated V6 on the Ridgeline is a great motor that will run forever. Ford reliability is also not even close to Honda. BTW, looks like a toy next to the Ridgeline.

I'm a technician, ford hybrid system isn't all that reliable .. I work on a lot of new explorer hybrids and they are constantly having hybrid system issues ..... I'd personally take the hit in fuel economy and wait for the new Tacoma if you want a mid sized truck that will be reliable

I'm not a technician, and no Ford system of any kind is all that reliable. With so many options, it's stupid to buy a Ford.

Think before you write. Our '22 F150 Powerboost is a fantastic reliable truck. The twin turbos and hybrid systems work flawlessly together, so much so, Toyota copied Ford's design.

I agree, I own one of each version but my first choice is my turbo AWD I show in my content from Park City. Way more passing power, capability, and fun for about $10 more per tank. Basically, the cost of lunch.
