I'm a guy in my late 30s and I've never owned a sporty car. I think the 2024 EN will be it. I'm pretty excited man. Hoping to get it around September though.

performance and price are 👍👍👍, Okay the Civic Type R has 5% more performance but for that you must pay $ 15 - 20k more.

Plus you can always modify the N with that extra money. That money goes a long way, and you’ll have plenty more power and performance. I saw a type R for 15k over MSRP… no jokes. They wouldn’t even allow people to touch it as if it’s some exotic car

Once the transmission warms up, and transmission is in sport plus, up shifts are basically instant

I’ve loved every mile in my 2022 Hyundai Elantra N. Your video was great and really showcased how fun this car is, but you never hit the NGS button to really feel it’s full power and transmission shifting! Regardless, you drove it excellent. I personally like the looks of the current front, but that’s subjective.

True and also that sound when accelerating is called wheel hop. Very common in FWD cars with high power. From my understanding its mostly due to the engine mounts? I heard N owners referring to changing some mounts which basically eliminated it altogether.

@@ayushmalpeddi2793 but changing engine mounts to something like a solid set will give you much more feedback. Depending how much the engine vibrates will determine what you will feel in the steering wheel. This can make a very different driving experience.

Type R is the better car if price doesn’t matter, but the Elantra N is the best performance sedan for the money!

I have a '22 veloster N dct. You will NOT regret getting the Elantra N. The veloster and Elantra N are almost exactly the same driving wise. I adore my N. It is a car built by a hooligans for hooligans. It loves to go fast. It loves to accelerate. It sounds AMAZING and especially amazing in tunnels. It holds incredibly steady when you floor it out of corners. The DCT shifts so hard in N mode that it slaps you back in your seat. If you have been driving non-performance cars and you are considering this, trust me, it is plenty fast for you. My last car was an 06 wrx that I had for years and the N FLATTENS it.

The aggressive wheelhop shudder on takeoff is not the integrated driveshaft but soft engine torque mount.. ungrade that for $60 and it’s issue 95% solved. It likely snips off a few tenths 0-60mph as well.

I believe the 2024 EN comes with upgraded mounts and bushings, so hopefully problem solved.

I own the '23 - Elantra N. (Cyber Gray) and it is one bada** car! Surprising handling is what impresses me most about this car, it grips the turns like no other car I have ever driven, or driven in! Accelerating into the turns is no problem, at all!

Car is even faster when octane learned. Put 93 octane in and drive around it will activate and will give you max boost of 18psi Instead of 15psi which is a big difference in speed and is noticeable immediately.

As someone who owns an N and never knew about this ahead of time, this is the single dumbest feature I've ever dealt with. It blows me away how you have to octane learn it after EVERY time you fill the car up. My OCD is through the roof and I'm trying to sell it now.

@@NGSMODE yah just void my warranty and ruin the re-sale value! Great idea. It's absurd I have to find an open stretch of highway and drive at least 20 minutes just to teach the car what octane is in it. Absolutely ruins the driving and it's very noticeable when its not octane learned....

Cant wait for the release of the facelift. Its so fricking good looking. I would say it even has lots of potential in Europe but for some reason they don't want to sell this to Europeans. The Facelift one would make lots of trouble for lots of German Company Cars.

@@mharro88 Well this version has very loud exhaust, loud enough to not get legal street allowance here in Germany. I know we have to live with a quieter exhaust but I mean still better than having to drive a Golf R or GTi.

A large part of the design brief for the integrated drive axel was to ensure that the kingpin axis passes as close to the center of the contact patch as possible to minimize torque steer. ... Contrary to how you make it sound it doesn't torque steer precisely because of the IDA...(Look at the substantial torque steer the kona n exhibits without it)

I have a 2023, also ceramic white, but with 6-speed manual since i was born before 2001. I don't really care for the 2024 redesign. It's OK, but the back it terrible, imo. Also, no reason for me to upgrade since all they changed was adding 2 USB-C outlets in the back and no one has sat in the back of my car in the 6 months I've owned it. would've been nice to get a sunroof, and still not sure why they didn't include that for 6M, but it seems they haven't changed that for the 2024 either. Also, you need to really change out all the incandescent bulbs for LEDs. There are plenty of videos showing which to buy and how to do it. The back-up camera at night is plenty fine once the bulbs are swapped. They should've been standard imo. One gripe I'd have is the stereo. For a BOSE, it has a severe lack of power and volume. You have to turn it up to like 50 before it sounds decent. Lame.

The new software update is supposed to fix the volume of the infotainment system. I personally haven’t noticed a change, but I was never unhappy with it. There’s also an EQ profile that n-power-automotive shared in his “5 things I dislike” or “like” video about the elantra N. I forget which exact vid.

@@ToastedMicrowaved- I can 100% confirm that the software update DID FIX the issue with the stereo. I'm not quite sure what they did, but now it sounds like it alway should have. You don't have to turn it up ridiculously high to get quality from it anymore. Was on SiriusXM and had the volume at only 5 or 6 and it sounds FANTASTIC. Full, rich sound, deep base. Plenty of volume. The best part is that I didn't have to do anything. The update came over the air. I started the car and there was a message that says there's an update available. I pressed "OK" and during my drive home, they system just updated. Took like 15-20 mins and then it was all good to go. Now the car is PERFECT! So happy they fixed the stereo.

The Elantra N has an LSD and a DCT, the Camry TRD doesnt have an LSD and it's got a torque converter automatic, unfortunately the Camry TRD lacks a lot of tech that would otherwise make it a really good FWD sports car.

Octane learned it would have been a bit quicker. When you refuel an N car it resets to 15lbs of boost. SO after you fuel up get on the highway, set the cruise from 70-90mph steady for 5mins. 75mph @ 5mins worked everytime for me. 17-19lbs of boost after and faster, for sure.

Worst thing i hated about my N. I can't hold a steady 75mph for 5 mins where I live, even on the highway. After every fill up there should be a dash prompting you to choose regular vs premium gas inserted. Then give you the instant 19lbs.

@@ltdasilva93I’m in the same boat. I live in NYC so I’d have to fill up in the middle of the night for the roads to be clear enough to reach the required speed and duration. However, I took my N on a 4,000 mile summer road trip and octane learned it. I definitely felt the difference. Sucks that you have to go through the hassle for extra performance. I just pretend this feature doesn’t exist, smh.

I have an Elantra and the only annoying thing is the auto headlights timer. It makes the highlights go on when there's a shadow of a tree and if I turn it off, it keeps bugging me that headlights are off messages on the cluster. The blind spot and safety systems are too sensitive and can't be adjusted.

I agree. The Auto Headlights are wayyy too sensitive on the car. The forward Collison warning is also too sensitive to the point that I just turn it off.

I drove Hyundai Sonata more than 6 yrs and I’m not extremely happy to drive them. Mine latest one was Sonata 2021 SEL and I felt transmission issues along the journey. Transmission didn’t perform the same always. Sometimes it’s so smooth and sometimes it’s really hard and even sometimes it made the vehicle shake. And the design was also not very good. Now they have the facelift for their newer model. I will tell Hyundai to concentrate to improve their vehicle’s performance more than the design.

@@luisarreguin2202 Dude same. Always driven a manual, but ordered a DCT. I have driven a car with paddle shifters and it's still a lot of fun. You get the sensation of changing gears manually even if it's not a stick!

Really depends on the road, and how you define "fun" behind the wheel. The Elantra N is a blast, but the M340i is going to feel way more polished and just outright faster.

I think the sacrifice of rear comfort is to have competitive pricing. I'm not the one sitting in the back so I rather pay less and get more elsewhere 😅 If I'd want to keep my passengers nice and comfy I'd pay the extra for the AMG.. even then I don't think that would be the reason I'd get an AMG 😂

Lol not a lightning fast DCT you have no idea what you are talking about. It is one of the fastest DCT's available in any car. Also, are you actually flooring it? I have become jaded with the boost turned up but my tires spin with upgraded rubber and I hit redline in half the time it becomes a balancing game. No wheel hop.

No its only ready for playtime once you octane learn it by driving 15-20 minutes on the highway. It sucks.

I have a 2020 Elantra with all the bells and whistle’s. I would not buy this newer model. I don’t like big black grills. Looks like a big mouth!

Your 2020 has the bells and whistles that maybe compare to the 201 hp Elantra N-line. A cosmetic trim. But the true N performance Elantra is on another level though and is getting a 2024 facelift. Comparing a 2020 to this is apples and oranges. They're world's apart in handling.
