Awesome review. I ended up spending $2k on suspension work to rid my 2021 890 R of the harshness. I’m doing a week-long ride in June with a buddy who just got a ‘23. I’m very interested to compare them.

Great video and new sub here! Question: does the insight given to the controls @ about 2:20, apply to the 2023 1290 SAR and 1290 SAS as well? I hope so as I've never liked the clunkiness of the prior software interface. Please do a review of the '23 1290 SAR next! (edit:) good upbeat music which is a nice differentiator from other YT adv bike channels.

Thank you for the kind d words and the new subscription. To the best of our knowledge the upgrades are across all the new models, but we will confirm and revert back to you asap... and we are working on getting a '23 1290 SAR to test as soon as one becomes available.

I cant get over the front headlight. Dont get me wrong, I test rode one and absolutely fell in love. It would be perfect for my riding style and needs, but the front end isnt something I would turn around and look at when I am walking away. The Norden Expedition Edition has all the same goodies with no paywall for cruise and heated grips or traction features. They seem to be pre-sold out in my country though so it looks like I will have to wait.

Hey Marco, That is the beauty of design and where the KTM group has it sorted. The 890 ADV-R is a "love it or hate it" design, and the same can be said of the 901 Expexition. So they offer essentially quite similar bikes, but with radically different styling and options so that they keep you in their family. Very clever business modelxwe think. Both bikes are exceptional. @@ridefast-dirtntrail-magazines Sal verseker so maak. Kan nie wag dat dit n bietjie droer raak hier nie. Was af Phoenix Arizona toe gewees in Maart vir beter ry omstandighede op ons 501’s ( afgesleep) met n mede xpat. Hier is ongelooflike spoore ( trails) om te ry in die berge.

I've got just on 3000km on my new 2023 890R... Rear tyre is cooked. Not sure what you guys are doing at 7000km on those tyres, fast on dirt you may be, on road you're a squid.

Hi Ryan, As mentioned in the video, the first 5,000kms were done by a Japanese vlogger/influencer, so we are not sure where he rode. We put on the next 2,000 km, and that was mostly dirt riding... where we like it. To be honest, we are not really fans of the tyre brand, but we have to comment on what is before us.
