This is a nice-looking magnum carry revolver. I considered the Kimber K6S in the past since it is a 6 shooter with a cylinder nearly as slim as many 5 shot revolvers. However, there is word that a number of these Kimber revolvers have timing issues. This Colt Viper appears to be almost as slim. Plus, I imagine that Colt has better Quality Control. This just might be in my future.

Be a sensible choice I think. Add one speed loader or speed strip. Which you probably won't need. I'm old school. I think a reliable simple revolver in .38+P or 125g .357 magnum JHP is about as much gun as your ever going to need.

I didn’t catch what ammo you’re shooting but try it with 158 grain or 146 grain wadcutters to see if it’s more regulated to traditional .38 Special bullet weights.

I would imagine that in today's market, a .38 special only revolver would be obsolete, as one can always shoot .38's out of a .357 magnum revolver. A small frame Viper has a thicker, stronger frame than the Colt .38 Cobra. With a 4.25" barrel, this would make for a suitable defense revolver for ones home, or a good back up to a shotgun.
