I'm sorry, man, but if you think Mercedes (or anyone) is going to be challenging for wins in a few races, you must have fallen off that ladder and hit your head. What you are actually saying is that over the next few races some team will develop their car, RELATIVE TO RED BULL, by over 1 second per lap... because that's what it's gonna take... Nope. Laws, I don’t agree with your take ( and also seems on most commentators) on yuki . Yuki’s reaction although hot headed is not completely irrational. In the race, He dropped position at every pit stop, RB strategy have always been very reactive to cars around them, and end up costing place for yuki. It’s happened in the past, which he commented on post race comments, which somewhat got lost. Then to be asked for a team order for 12th!! Comon. Daniel wasn’t even able to make a move on magnusses anyways. Tv could’ve asked to give the position back then. If riccardo and Tsunoda are have a fair crack for the red bull seat, then it is completely understandable why he’d be annoyed with the team order. In the middle of fighting with magnussen for position. Also post his race manoeuvre, it might have a been a lock up but he was way quite clear of Daniel. Daniel throwing the helmet comment, he knows he’s fighting yuki for the red bull seat , so he’s playing mind games already. Sadly although yuki is faster than Daniel, I feel he’s not very skilled in manoeuvring him self to bringing the vcarb team around him like Daniel has been able to.

I think if either george or sainz started in second, they would have been able to hang onto max MUCH longer. Charles got a very slow start compared to max, holding up the others, AND he was locking up constantly and forcing a battle to get past him. That entire time, max was just... Leaving. And checo was working through the pack. Charles more or less acted as a rear gunner for max (and checo by proxy) and held up his teammate multiple times, who - if not for that - would have been in second place judging by the gap to perez at the end there. Really unfortunate that people are writing the race/year off, because in all reality, Ferrari played directly into Red Bull's hands as perfectly as possible being resr Gunners who couldn't catch up but could battle and slow down each other and everything else that made a swing (including indirectly causing heating/battery issues for George) This isn't to say that Charles sucks or deserves to be called to let sainz pass every weekend, but today was definitely not his day at all.

There was an interesting point that I've seen a couple of people bring up: the cost cap. While it was meant to make all the teams financially viable and the idea was to prevent the richest teams from spending so much money, has it perhaps unintentionally locked in the pecking order as no-one is able to meaningfully close in on Red Bull? Ok, you can point to Aston's step forward and McLaren's turnaround last year, but remember that the MCL60 in particular was seriously undercooked at the start of the season; they'd planned the upgrades at a really early stage. Obviously, you can't pin all this on the cap alone; Red Bull have nailed these regulations and the team are operating at a high level anyway, but with the advantage they've have had in this era, no-one's been able to simply throw money at trying to catch up. With the spending power restricted and the other development restrictions such as windtunnel use, it's almost impossible to find an advantage.

Yuki’s temperament will cost him going to a the senior RB team, you can’t have a second driver who will refuse team orders, or who will be petulant and almost wipe out his team mate out of anger. The second RB seat will be best for a driver who is calm and composed.
@Ellen16008 ай бұрын
I really think you are right about Lec getting second if he didn’t have the issue 💪🏻 Red Bull is good but so is Ferrari! And yes.. Max is from Mars but it is going to be a interesting year🥳

Merc & Ferrari will be looking at Maclaren nervously. Can't wait to see how they do next race.
@jermaineayivoh82638 ай бұрын
The hopium and copium is strong. Mclaren were not “winners”! Mclaren were talking up their chances of closing the gap to Red Bull and challenge them for race wins, yet they ended up being further away from Red Bull than they were at the end of last season. Lando didn’t look anymore likely to win a race and finished 3/4 of a minute behind Max, whilst Piastri finished almost a minute behind Max. All that Mclaren look like to me is a front running midfield team, nothing more than that. They haven’t been a proper front running teams since Lewis’s last year at the team way back in 2012!

Why is Bottas the instigator at turn one when Lance decided to turn in and slowpoke through the apex ?

On his onboard, Valtteri broke too late and tapped Hulk which unsettled him into Lance.

Too many should’ve, could’ve and would’ves for the Merc, Ferrari and McLarens.. especially Lando. I like Lando but I’ve heard too many reasons/excuses from for a while now The Yuki situation was triggered by the incompetent race engineers; pit strategy ruined both drivers. I agree Yuki dive bomb was the wrong reaction but don’t think it was as dangerous as people make it out to be (watched both onboards). The first race lacked the fighting drama in the front, so there you are

Yuki really needs to fix his temper. I'm willing to bet that Yuki's temper is one of the only if not the only thing why Redbull wants Danny over Yuki

Unpopular opinion, Redbull should consider binning Checo and sign Sainz if Checo falls off during this season.

Yuki was quicker than Daniel. Yuki earned his position, why just hand it over? Daniel had no chance of P10. No team orders should have been given.

You give orders to let the faster car through, that’s how every team does it. You think Yuki wouldn’t be asked to move over at RB?

💯agree Normally, after the swap if they cannot overtake the car in front the team will give position back in the final lap.
@inthewoodsmtb8 ай бұрын
Yeah I get that, but Yuki knew Daniel was going to be on new softs more than likely on the last stint and was aware of the potential swap. It didn’t come completely out of left field, and at that point in the race Daniel was faster than Yuki.

Driver's can only do so much - these F1 teams need to do better to catch up with Red Bull, waiting for regulation changes are just lazy. We have this year and next year still to go.
@azlanahmad80138 ай бұрын
I would agree with you that teams had problems. Merc had PU problem with russel and made them lose around 4 to 5 tenths per lap and that stupid 100 degree temp imbalance issue on Charles car compromised there race. we haven't seen the full potential of them (atleast Ferrari). Lets see what the coming races will bring. Checo could be vulnerable but Max will be in a leaque of his own

You could stick Steven hawking in the RB-20, and he would probably win something. It's already clear the car is overpowered. 😂 Both of the cars absolutely destroy people out of corners and on the straights. The vehicle is clearly superior and way ahead of the pack at the moment.

@lawVS You talked about the issues george had, but did not mention the issues lewis had. Like the seat being broken as well as the same heating issue along with that issue helping to cause a new issue of draining the battery without him using it.
