The screen was not designed and not meant to be a touchscreen in the first place, so it was placed far ahead for better viewing and the mazda control buttons works better than touch. It’s the people who complained and they make it touch screen. Touching the screen requires eyes off the road to see where you touch so it’s unsafe.

I rented a cx30 awd turbo by enterprise. You’re correct, its not that hard than you think.
@Saboda538 ай бұрын
Couldn’t agree more. The “touchscreen” is cognitively more distracting. (The fact that you also have to raise your arm UP and WAY OUT to touch a single tiny spot on the screen in a moving, jittery vehicle is laughable. Mazda’s Controller Knob makes so much more sense.) Some people now define their entire existence - both day & night - by continually interacting with their iPhone, seemingly at least once every 2 or 3 minutes. Yes, they are iPhone-addicted. Sadly, those are the folks who complain about the lack of a “proper touchscreen”. Show me someone who complains about Mazda’s touchscreen philosophy and I’ll show you a smartphone addict. I, for one, applaud Mazda’s resistance to the world’s “smartphone/touchscreen” takeover.

@@Saboda53 100%. My car has a touch screen that is mid dash and a distraction to use, requiring me to look completely away from the road. I am actually going against the grain here 😅- As an owner of a 2016 CX-9 and a 2016 Mazda 3 (both are previous gen), I am disappointed by this. The interior and amenities of this MY/trim is nice......for 2016. The omission of a power passenger seat, the lack of a digital dashboard, and zero rear seat charging ports/vents is head-scratching. I know Mazda's mantra is all about driver engagement and stirring emotion (at a competitive price) but these things *should* be standard in a top trim with an asking price of $38k. One of the worst (if not the worst) part of this is the 6-speed automatic. It was prehistoric back in 2016 and it is almost unforgiveable today. The only allowable 6-speed transmission should be of the gated variety. It's hard to voice that opinion as I am very partial to Mazda. I love their continued focus on driving dynamics and established reliability but it's disappointing to see old tech and a disconnect on what should be baseline amenities (specifically for $38k top trim). The CX-90 is fantastic but some of that goodies needs to trickle down asap.

Man, just paid $41,000-ish CAD for the 2024 GT Turbo Sedan with AWD. With exchange, that’s would’ve been roughly $32,000 USD.

I thought they bump the power to 256 with premium fuel for 2024

It's interesting how minor the changes are since 2021. Infotainment upgrades are not bad but hardly worth trading the car in.

When the hatch came out in 2019 I was thinking the C pillar would grow on me. Nope, still weird
@tpolerex72829 ай бұрын
Yeah, me too, and otherwise it really is a great looking vehicle. The claustrophobic, tight rear and YUGE blind spots because of it had me looking elsewhere. It still is a mostly great overall hatch.

It was definitely polarizing the first year or so, and sales were slow! It’s definitely found its audience and inventories are low in my market for these now!
@Michael-ur5qb9 ай бұрын
Definitely due for a redesign I don’t think they need to completely go back to the drawing board but they need to address that c-pillar. Blind spot and makes it seem cavelike. Otherwise the car is near perfect.
@ms.b90939 ай бұрын
I dont mind the design or C-pillar! It’s definitely the most unique hatch on the market! I just find the rear seat and leg room unusable! And a deal breaker!

Almost got this instead of my Integra, to bad its in the shop for that infamous sticking steering wheel issue

My civic is also having the same issues. I wish I had gotten the 3 instead 😬

@Aguon have you brought yours in yet?
@Aguon9 ай бұрын
@@carljohnson7 I did a few months ago and they installed a new module for it I believe. It fixed it temporarily but it’s come back recently and seems to be worse than before so I’m thinking the whole rack will need replaced
@carljohnson79 ай бұрын
@Aguon I brought mine in 3 days ago and they also said it might need a whole new rack. I sent a complaint to the NTHSA so will see where it goes. Problem is the part is on back order and others have waited months for it to arrive
@Aguon9 ай бұрын
@@carljohnson7 best of luck with yours 🙏🏼 I’m getting my last free oil change in a few weeks from the dealer so I’m gonna mention it and see where it goes. I personally don’t mind waiting a bit if I have a rental car to use in the meantime but yeah I’ve also heard the wait times are crazy right now.

No clutch? Speakers but no CD player? Does Apple car play require a cell phone? I love my 2010 Mazda 3 but this car is almost unrecognizable to me.

I wish the auto was a dct with great paddles on the wheel, have a rear bias AWD system, get rid of the cheap torsion beam and tune the engine to a higher rpm, think more top engine na power band pulling to redline and I will buy it
@raymondsnow77459 ай бұрын
I remember reading when this shared platform came out that it more easily allowed adding AWD. Most people couldn't tell you that there is any significant difference in handling between the last and current generations
@FidelF8 ай бұрын
LOL! The things you just mentioned, specifically, the DCT and the rear biased AWD would put this at least at $50k US. Be for real, no one is buying a HATCHBACK that happens to be a MAZDA for 50 THOUSAND US DOLLARS. 🤦♂️😂.

I see videos of the Mazda 3 sold overseas and it does have rear seat air vents. Why does the US model not have this feature?
@bluewinds109 ай бұрын
All models above base in Aus have rear vents, - although they stopped the manual last year - I know what I would rather have
