Every week no matter the series something controversial happened. - Racing in the rain at Daytona - 2008 Brickyard tire problems that plagued the cup season - the never ending debate about the playoffs - the ridiculous amount of overtime’s for some races - driver etiquette and respect - terrible broadcasting by FOX - Denny Hamlin’s hatred hitting its peak - Kyle Busch losing his JGR ride - the worst all star race ever - gen 7 safety problems - Ross Chastain doing a Tony Stewart 2004 crashing people every week - the video game move heard around the world (only because the playoffs made that moment happen lol)

That several rows of 4-wide in the first stage of the second Talladega race for several laps ? That was mind-blowing. That extreme tirewear at the first Bristol race ? Incredible racing with tons of passing moves and tire strategy made a difference. Atlanta with an epic 3-wide finish ? Beautiful. And so many more, including Kansas, Darlington, Daytona ... this season we Nascar fans were spoiled for incredible races !

I can't tell if this was the best worst season or worst best season in NASCAR history. So many times where I was on the edge of my seat and loads of other moments that made me question if this sport was even going to be functional in 5 years. But even so, of the four seasons I've been watching, this was easily the most fun I've had (and that's saying something).

this season on pure racing was AWESOME. But the championship format takes a lot of the good stories and turns them into "playoffs implications". The win of Harrison Burton should've been a feel good story for all of the nascar landscape. But no, the focus is the god damn playoffs. Every win is turned into fucking "playoffs implications", as if the race that a driver just won is secundary. But taking that aside, nascar racing was great again, just need to make short tracks a bit better. Great video!

Honestly I’m happy Joey became a 3 time champion but really he really didn’t do anything to win it although he was criticized the way he won It with the worst average finish but it was the playoff system that really made the fans cross the line and now they ask for change which they’ll get in the near future.
