The founder revealed himself, after having been revealed already. Then claimed transparency, while being forced into the position in the first place. Also lied about their buying of assets, when they hired artists referring to them as their "team" and of course the classic, took 1.2 million dollars out of the project funds to buy NFTs and try to hide them in an alternate wallet just for safe keeping, you know?

The one thing missing here as usual is regulation. If you had sold a bunch of your shares right before the crappy product reveal or IPO tanked the value, you'd at a minimum be subject to an investigation due to profiting on your knowledge as an insider. But here in cryptoland, you can just convert all that eth to other NFTs, stash them in hidden wallets and move on with your day. Hell, he might even release some awful "game" in the future to technically say he delivered something, much like Chronicles of Elyria is attempting to do.

Yeah and everyone is idolizing indie games over AAA, saying AAA game companies are greedy and scummy. Its actually the complete opposite. Big game companies add extra stuff for people to buy, but most don't scam you into buying it, its usually just there for people who want it and have extra money to help support the game if they choose to which helps them have more money for a new game without having to rely on investors for all of the money.

The trick is to find a project that is doable and get people to give you tons of money. Then you use that money to hire people who can make it happen and hope that they'll finish it for you before the people who gave you the money get pissed. Also, it helps if you can create an image, a persona of a super genius philanthropist and create a cult around yourself. It's basically what Musk did. Or you are so stupid and promise something which you can't deliver and the people eventually realize what a fraud you are. E.g. Elisabeth Holmes.

EA already had it proved when people spent 10x a game's price on boxes. This literally told them as long as 10% of the player base buys MTs nothing else matters as they literally only have to please 10% as opposed to 100% which is a MASSIVE improvement realistically.

The slight difference between the two. Beside ea basically just using gacha without a pity system. Is somehow ntf trick people in believing they will be worth something or they can pawn them off to someone at a higher price than they brought them for. For what is basically not even owning a piece of art, but rather just a link to something. That and ntf with how heavily the people who invest in them, tend to defend them. It like yeah company like ea would love to have a fanbase like that. Which is loyal to the brand but not the ip, they will defend it to the death if it has their favorite logo on it, not caring if the product offers them little to no value in return. At least with ea you sort of get something in a game to use, you might have fun with. Nft, If I wanted a piece of art to stare at. I would hire an artist to make me something. Which would most likely be cheaper than buying a nft and be able to own the art work. It like every time the world seems to have found a new low for ripping someone off, they come up with something new that destroys the bottom of the barrel. For from everything I know about nft. They offer nothing new, that you can't do with already existing tech or by paying an artist who would most likely make better use of that cash than the next person who wants to scam you. For nft are legit the gold rush of our era. People being con into buying them, thinking they will get rich. Only for the sellers to be the real winners here. That and the cryptobros show why being positive about everything just leads to you getting scam or rip off in the end. For it just leads to people and companies knowing they can put in the least amount of effort possible, while still making all the money without dealing with any of the backlash and can keep doing so on repeat.

The amount of NFT scams going on that even valve themselves said "no!" to; i'm surprised people didn't suddenly stop and think "maybe this is a scam". It's upsetting but it'll keep happening until people stop paying them. I just wonder what number that'll be, it's just a pity ppl would rather gamble on a value attached to a picture, rather than just play a game. Sure you won't win money, but you'll get your money's worth.

It's not upsetting to me at all. This is very much needed. Since the advent of the phone and tablet. Parents have stopped rearing there own children. A kid gets upset! Hand him a tablet. In a restaurant. Give them the phone to keep them quiet. Running around the house making too much noise? Hand them the tablet! Sorry this is a great way to teach most 16-25 year olds who just got out into the real world. That its not what its like on tiktok!

Yeah I lost track of all the scams that have happen with nft. Which yeah nft is just oh hey owning a link to something. Not even owning a piece of artwork. Which buying in game outfits, for a character you use all the time would have more value. For at least you and possibly others will get to see the outfit, letting you show off a bit. that and you might enjoy it for longer than five seconds before getting bored of it. Heck most things would have more value than nfts with how full of scams they are. Heck Nft and the people who tend to invest in them, are normally the be positive or else crowd. Which just goes to show why it important to be critical of things or else you get nft. Where people will put in the least amount of effort, due to knowing they can get loads of money without having to put in any real work.

To be perfectly honest, if he does hire a professional game studio, then the value he'd give to the project is that of investor or producer, but considering it's been done with people's money, and the whole speculative element of NFT's paired with the absolute drop in value, it's just a PR nightmare, because there's pretty much no way for the value of those NFT's to raise to a point where it would be worth anything. It was just on of those old kickstarter scams, but with added steps and more convoluted stuff.

By my understanding, he's also lying about *handwave* making the art better on the NFTs. Unless they're not actual NFTs, the process to make a change like that is a massive pain in the ass, involving killing the originals and re-issuing new ones, with all the fees etc you'd expect.
@Eserchie
@Eserchie 2 жыл бұрын
eh, probably the pixelmon NFT contains a url link to a resource on a server. delete that resource, replace it with another with the same name, art upgraded. people have done this before, most famously replacing the images they used to sell the nfts with the poop emoji. You can't change the data inside the nft easily, but since in 90% of cases it is just a url, you can change or delete the resource the url points to with total ease.

Crypto must have so little perceived value to even the people who use it. They'll drop 10k on nothing while knowing nothing about it. The reason Microsoft invented 'Microsoft Points" back in the day was specifically because people are bad at managing money once it's converted to a number that doesn't use a dollar sign. Crypto seems to have the same mental effect.

NFTs would have to make a really interesting psychological study as I can't understand how they just keep on getting funded, is there even a single NFT promoted by an influencer that hasn't made a mint? Imagine someone on twitter says hey everyone there is this guy, I dunno who he is.. dunno his name don't even know where in the world he is so he could be the homeless drunk around the corner for all I know but anyway, he's selling pieces of paper he's scribbled a number on for anything up to $10k. With the money he gets from you buying a piece of paper he's going to (insert absolutely anything here) which will make the literally worthless piece of paper you paid up to $10k for now worth a fortune! So get in quick guys! How many people would give that guy money... its the internet so i'm sure someone probably would but realistically how many... and yet if you change it from a piece of paper to something digital and add the letters NFT then they'll get millions of dollars thrown at them... it doesn't make sense. I'm willing to bet if there was an NFT of that scenario, just a jpeg of a number then it would still get millions thrown at it :|

73mln $ looks like a big enough budget to hire some experienced game making company. Why throw that amount of cash on random person with 0 skills in area of making games when you could look up some indie games studio or even AAA games studio (friggin 73mln $ budget!!) to make a game for you? This never cease to amaze me, at this point I am loosing all faith in crowdfunding. Even if it allowed for some good games to be made they just dissapear hidden in hundreds or even thousands of scams. The idea is just not working, people are too stupid and drop money on any "bestest" "biggest" ever game promised instead of backing projects that actually sound realistic and have experienced people behind them.
