I agree this animal definitely needs more recognition. I know about it, think it's an awesome dinosaur, and if someone had said name the second largest NA predator I wouldn't have even thought of it. For some reason it just slips under the radar.

Acrocanthosaurus is most likely 4th largest carnivorous dinosaur of North America. Top 3 are Tyrannosaurus rex, Tyrannosaurus mcraeensies & Saurophaganax maximus
@@monsterzero521 it hasn’t been proven yet but I’d be all for Saurophaganax being the second largest. It has one of the most metal names ever for a Dino. Thx for the comment. Mike

This is a cool animal. We have dinosaur track ways in Texas that are believed to be made by Acrocanthrosaurus with Sauropods and maybe evidence of a hunt. Correct me if I am wrong but I read that it is more closely related to Allosaurus than to Carcharodontosauridae. Also as far as I know we have only four specimens of this animal so it might be bigger than we think. Maybe this animal might be on the movie screen in the new Jurassic movie and the Walking With Dinosaurs sequel .

Acrocanthosaurus is currently the 2nd largest predator ever to roam the North American continent yet receives nowhere near the attention it deserves. What is your favorite part of Acro? Mike
@011keepers3 ай бұрын
I feel it's all about the name, TYRANNOSAURUS sounds regal, huge and devastating..but ACROCANTHOSAURUS sounds too scientific, and doesn't have any English sounding parts, also honestly I thought this was native to South America!

@@alihusan5260 right now it’s Rex but I never say things with certainty who knows who truly was the largest. There may be another theropod out there awaiting discovery. Thx, Mike

If you can't decide if you want a T-Rex or spino then acrocanthosaurus is the go-to to settle the indecision. I will be featuring an acrocanthosaurus in a future work. And I agree that the term "acro" does sound way more formidable. Its such an underrated theropod that needs more spot in the limelight.

@@PrehistoricMagazine No, I'm an author. I used to do paleo sketches a long time ago but really do plan to get back into it for future works. You did put my first book in one of your magazines last year.
