I have flowmaster, x pipe, highflow cats, headers and hot rod cams....this thing is TOO LOUD imo, but damn it sounds so sick at idle.

For the best in between for an exhaust on this list would be the Flowmaster Super 40's... They give you a nice low rumble at idle and has a nice mild tone to it when you don't want EVERYONE to hear you... But if you get on it they liven up an get good an LOUD like how a Mustang should sound when you stomp the peddle... The interior noise is pretty mild at freeway speeds and you can have a nice subtle conversation without having to talk over the sound of the exhaust... I have the full cat back system so it may sound a little different from the axle back's but I can't see by very much..

Ive owned 2 out of 3 of these. Loved the slp loudmouth with stock exhaust. I didnt like the flowmaster american thunder, way too quiet for a mustang. However corsa extreme FTW!

Curry4Life I'm pretty sure almost anything will be better than what I had. I had a Flowmaster Force II Aluminized steel axle back that the previous owner put on, and had completed corroded. The muffler was completely hollow because everything else inside it rusted out, and caused SOOOO much drone

dont worry i have outlaws on my 4.6 and its amazing, fantastic deep tone and loud at first with a bit of drone but you get used to it. now im gonna get some longtubes and catted h/x pipe. oh and i feel like the tone became more tame as you break them in and as the engine gets warmer

I agree, had them on an 05 that I sold and now again on an 06. I can't get enough of the sound of a 4.6 with the SLP's, especially when you drive thru a tunnel and floor it!

None of these axlebacks are considered loud just by themselves. Wish these videos would have used an offroad x pipe as well since thats what majority of the mustang owners would run. Also how can you have a top 3 video and not have either corsa, borla, or roush?

Fr500 Axle-back hands down the best that’s what I got(pricey but worth it) get compliments all the time. And I just got Pypes headers with an off road h-pipe hopefully not too loud now 😂

Mbrp vs slp both muffler deletes and really loud...slp mid $300s mbrp mid 200s after watching a few videos I think the mbrp sound more aggressive loudness I wana say they are equally since both are free flowing pipe....pricy for a muffler delete im going with mbrp on this one....what do ya think?

FlowMasters: NOTORIOUS for inner baffles getting loose, and no way that I know of to stop the rattles. The sound is great when new but the durability of the product is substandard. The folks at AM need to find a better product in that price range to suggest to your followers.

Nope! Axle-back and cat-back exhaust systems never really need a tune after installing! Once you start removing catalytic converters or changing exhaust manifolds you will absolutely need a tune though. -Zach

The SLP aren't worth the money just go to your local muffler shop and get it straight piped...

True my dad's friend has a muffler shop and has done a few of are cars 76 c10..78 pontiac Phoenix...88 monte carlo...74 Porsche 944..f150...neon srt4, Saturn ion redline just a few of my pops and my brothers cars haven't done my srt6 or my wife's s197...he would do full system from catback 2 1/2" or 3/4 or 3" piping for under $400 the slp is about 360 on the site....only thing is with muffler shop you get a fixed pipe and limit your h or x pipe unless you install that first and work around it....thinking about the mbrp muffler delete for my wife's gt way cheaper and room to improve mid pipe and headers in future...that's the position note on 05-09 the exhaust is divided in 3 sections all bolt on newer models are not making it more expensive...and 3 valves sound much better in my opinion than a 4valve but that is another on going debate lol
