Great video. All these rimless glasses are amazing. I love them all. I guess photochromic lenses will suit them all but I can definitely fancy them with the beautiful wooden arms of the Cartier. You really are so knowledgeable and showcase them in just the right way.

I just got the Silhouette Titan Next Generation rimless frames in the color Real Teal. I needed to replace frames that broke on my Silhouette lenses. These are one of their latest designs, and I love them. They have really improved the durability of the sides, way better eyeglass case as well from them. I was amazed, that the prescription from 2014 was still good in 2022. I guess drinking all that Japanese green tea is helping improve my eyesight. Silhouettes are so lightweight and comfortable. I also like that they are made in Austria, not China.

I love the third pair with the wooden arms. I’ve been wearing silhouette for at least 15 years. I was limited by location that carried Silhouette and accepted my insurance. Therefore, I’ve been going to the same chain. However, outside of the glare resistant for computer screens they never suggested I could get a tinted lens. It’s definitely time for me to find a new optometrist.

I have a pair of rimless glasses. However, sometimes I feel that the rimless mountings obstruct the field of vision and are a bit uncomfortable. I also find that my eyes focus on the drill mounts at times. So I generally go back to wearing my regular glasses. Do you think I should try rimless for a few more days so that my eyes adjust to these types of glasses?

Yeah, usually you will stop seeing the drill points within 1-2 weeks. However, it's important the glasses are the right size and fit. The closer they fit to your eyes, the less you will be aware of them.

I just bought a pair of ½ rimless glasses with titanium top part & held with nylon cord. Nice huh? But I honestly wanted full rimless but the price was WAY higher..can anyone explain why that is. Seemingly doesnt make sense.

Hi. I would like to buy a pair of "The icon" or "Momentum" Silouhette glasses.. The optician at the store didn't suggest me Silouhette as they say that their screwless technology is not a good solution: the bent titanium end pieces (temples) have continuos force applied once in the protection case so it easily breaks and the foldable plastic solution of the Momentum gets easily loose and cannot be tightened. Do you have any comments?

I agree with your optician. Silhouette are OK (certainly not bad) but I would recommend the brands featured in this video over them. Or even the new McLaren rimless frames I showcased recently...

I think that's an incorrect perception that people tend to have with glasses... paying for luxury frames doesn't mean they are indestructible. The only truly indestructible frames I've come across are Reykjavik Eyes - but they cost more than Silhouette

They promise to be very resistant due to screwless while it is actually the other way around. I won't but them and follow my optician suggestions

I bought Progressive rimless glasses in 2014 and 2017. They fit right out of the box. 2022, I've purchased 3 pairs of Progressive rimless, and they're all wrong. If you look straight ahead, it's clear, but the lower part (intermediate) is blurred. I think it's a bridge height problem, they drill the bridge holes too far down, raising the near/intermediate/distance so that it sits too high. Because they are memory titanium, moving the nosepads out to lower the lenses doesn't work, because as soon as you let go, they go right back to the same spot. My 2017 pair, the drill holes are 6mm from the top, the 2022 pair is 8-9 mm from the top of the lens. I've had the pd checked twice at two different optical shops. I think the problem is the person making the glasses is used to doing single vision, and doesn't account for where the near/intermediate/distance will sit. Do you have any advice, other than giving up on progressive rimless?

You definitely can have rimless progressives. I've made thousands over the years. Your prescription will have changed over the years and made you more sensitive to the positioning, but when you say the intermediate is blurred - when do you notice this? When using the computer? Or walking around?

@@thespectaclefactory Walking around. The ground is blurry. Lenses are fitting too high? My old pair, I can see right down to the ground. My prescription has only changed slightly, distance has improved, near is worse. It's a fairly light prescription -2.00, -2.25, +250. (Thanks for the reply.)

That makes complete sense, and it's a consequence of your prescription more than anything. It can be rectified by adjusting the lens type, positioning and corridor length.
