Hi doctor, I had done a laser treatment for varicose veins on my right leg ( around calf ) i did it one week ago and still I’m using medical stocking. But after removing bandage I can clearly see the procedure was not being done correctly. My varicose still the same. My question is... is it ok to do laser treatment another time? If its not possible then how long I should be wait ??

Age 28, here. Had my procedures done over several months ago. I have genetically inherited varicose veins. I've had problems since I was twelve. I have struggled with my weight for my entire life, but over the past year I've lost a lot of it. I've lost more weight since my procedure (Catheter-assisted procedures using radiofrequency or laser energy.), but I am constantly on my feet due to my job and they've come back just as bad as before. I have hard knots under my skin that itch me constantly. I scratch so much, I bleed, even when I use anti-itch cream. I am miserable at night, my legs still swell up, and can't afford another treatment (even though my insurance covers nearly all of it, the part of it I pay for is draining what little money I have).

Doc i have lvl 3 varicose vain in my lefy leg ?and it hurt if dameged vain removed will it regrow again after removal surgury?
@VeinCareAcademy
@VeinCareAcademy 4 жыл бұрын
Neovascularization is a process in which veins may regrow after the older traditional procedures such as surgical stripping. Until we had ultrasound scans readily available, surgeons didn't believe that veins could regrow after they had been tied and removed. But we now know that this is a particular feature of SURGICAL STRIPPING and veins will regrow the raw ends want to re-grow and rejoin. And this is a very important cause of recurrence. Fortunately, it is not a feature of the newer treatments that we have on offer such as endothermal ablation. You can read more www.theveincarecentre.co.uk/treatments/

Are shins that burn on and off, on the front of both legs more as a result of my veins or small fiber neuropathy?
@victoriagirdler4795
@victoriagirdler4795 2 жыл бұрын
I have chronic venous insufficiency that went untreated WAY too long for multiple reasons. It cause me to develop chronic edema, lymphedema, lipodermatosclerosis (fibrosis or scarring of deep tissue), as well as a bout of cellulitis. I just got all the procedures for the CVI, & a lymphedema specialist to help md treat that since its life long. Anyways one of my cellulitis symptoms was a burning & digging pain like I had barbed wire pulled tight around my shin bones in both legs. It started on the skin surface, & eventually I could feel it deep in the bone. Every step I took the vibration & impact hurt deep down to the point I was borderline ready to just die. It took a month AFTER I completed antibiotics for the pain to slowly subside. It was a slow process, & one day like 3 months after antibiotics, I realized the pain hadn't returned. It was an off & on pain that I had for 4 months prior to getting cellulitis infection diagnosed. Don't play with it as it can be life threatening, & really can get into the bones! It could be the small fiber neuropathy as well though. Have you been diagnosed with that? Also if the skin is red, warm, & tender to the touch its more likely to be cellulitis. If you run a fever for no other apparent reason, get to the doctor that day, even if you have to go to the ER! Good luck to you, I hope you can get a diagnosis & treatment asap! I understand how awful these pains can be & I'm sorry!

Considering the great new treatments, such as endovenous laser ablation (to be specific, using radial laser delivery fibers, not the old linear laser fibers), stripping surgery must be considered obsolete! Why subject the patient to general anesthesia and prolonged post surgery pains, when with endovenous laser ablation , an outpatient procedure, the patient can resume all normal activities right after the treatment. Furthermore, results have been much better that stripping surgery. Surgeon's who are still doing ligation stripping surgeries, may be should either learn the new techniques and inquire the necessary tools, or refer the patients to a clinic that has the new capabilities. I am considering endovenous ablation of saphenous veins in one leg. Reflux was due to DVT years ago. My question is - Do the smaller upstream veins that flowed into the saphenous veins normally redirect them selves "downward" toward" the deep veins since the saphenous pathway is now closed off? Does this occur both during and after the post-surgical healing process?

Just had this done 4 days ago. Vein taken from crotch to foot. Yes, it's painful,and I'm black and blue,but it's still less painful than when I had a 'bad pain day' with the vein in. This is a walk in the park,compared. A clean pain. I have a high pain tolerance though. I say,go for it! NO FEAR ppl. Good luck all. X

Endovenous non-surgical treatments for leg vein conditions are applicable to patients with diabetes. Special care is required, however as patients with diabetes may have arterial disease and peripheral neuropathy and they are more susceptible to infection.

Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure used to eliminate varicose veins and spider veins. Sclerotherapy involves an injection of a solution (generally a salt solution) directly into the vein. The solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel, causing it to collapse and stick together and the blood to clot. NO HARMFUL SIDE EFFECTS

For sure you did not get proper evaluation. And the treatment was not done correctly. Sclerotherapy is just a word. Like anything else, it must be respected as a complex art & science. As an example, are all painters the same in quality of work? Or are all those who have driver license, drive properly?

I'm 41 now, I have reticular veins and some spider veins in both of my legs...since I was 21 I got several sclerotheraphies in different stages of my life...I have vein insufficiency inheritance as my father had varicose veins and got a stripping procedure when he was around 40, now he is 74...his stripping wasn't perfect but wasn't as bad as his legs look much better than 35 years ago...I think doing exercise 3 times a week, not gaining weight and having a balanced diet helps...like very important to eat cherries, grapes, ginger, cranberries and vegetables...I think hormonal disorder in women is a big factor and not moving is a factor too, but Please in Spain is very difficult to find good professionals, there are too many estheticians there injecting polidocanol to spider veins without even proper illumination ...

Are spider veins genetic?
@VeinCareAcademy
@VeinCareAcademy 5 жыл бұрын
Short answer, Yes they can be.Long answer:The underlying aetiology can be classifiedas congenital or acquired. Aetiological factors are identified from a careful clinical history and examination.Genetic and Congenital FactorsVascular nevi• Nevus flammeus• Klippel-Trénaunay syndrome• Nevus araneus• Angioma serpiginosum• Bockenheimer syndromeCongenital neuroangiopathies•Maffucci syndrome• Congenital poikiloderma (Rothmund-Thomson syndrome)• Essential progressive telangiectasia• Cutis marmorata telangiectatica• Diffuse neonatal hemangiomatosis AcquiredComponent of a primary cutaneous diseaseKeratosis lichenoides chronicaNecrobiosis lipoidica diabeticorumCapillaritis (purpura annularis telangiectodes)Malignant atrophic papulosis (Degos disease)Secondary to Venous DiseaseHormonal factorsPregnancyEstrogen therapyTopicalcorticosteroid preparationsPhysical factors Actinic neovascularization and/or vascular dilationTrauma• Contusion• Surgical incision/lacerationInfectionGeneralized essential telangiectasiaProgressive ascending telangiectasiaHuman immunodeficiency virus (HTLV-III)RadiodermatitisErythema ab igne (heat and infraredradiation)The list above is long and at first sight,it looks rather intimidating. In practice, most of the aetiological factors are very rare or they are revealed by the patient’s history. For those who undertake Microsclerotherapy, it is essential to differentiate those patients with telangiectasia secondary to venous disease from those with idiopathic telangiectasia.
