I feel better now about my disasterously messy drawing space!

I'm glad to see a messy room other than my own. But you know what, it gives the room character, it gives it a story. It gives the impressions of a busy and studious person. But now, if it's a messy room with food and spilled drinks, that's an actual messy room. That's a room stinkier than the back of my ears. It's alright to have an unorganized room. However, it is not alright to have a room with crumbs and spills that attract critters and pests. Make sure to always pick up your trash, or else your mother will beat your @$$.

Haha. Yes, no food and only occasional coffee in the room. Too easy for greasy fingers to end up on the paper!😀

I really could benefit from taking warmup with curves. Which shapes do you find the most difficult to draw? I find the crown and back of birds to be my most challenging to get right in one go. I think visually to me the curves are long and visually ambiguous. I have trouble as to when I have matched what curve I am drawing with what I am seeing.

I think birds particularly benefit from being visualised in their 3D form, though colouring and distance and size can make this challenging. So I’m not looking as much at curves as roundedness. And watching out for any flat(tish) planes disrupting the roundedness. It of course, though I’m especially fond of birds, I don’t draw them often. 😀 My worst shape is the right sound of a dome or arch. Hard not to flatten its roundedness somewhat. Then I overcompensate 😩

thank you so much Mister Stephen!! This is a good exercise for ppl like me who freeze at the sight of difficult structures to draw

My pleasure. Remember, we’re learning to draw, not producing artworks. Stumbling is part of that process. 😀

Your drawing approach is so well thought out and the underlying concepts so well structured and clearly articulated, that the glimpse into your drawing "studio" was hilarious by contrast. A fun and humanizing moment!
