I really like your positive but realistic approach. There are so many publications targeting the fear we should have for these new technologies overshadowing and delaying the great benefits they bring. It often feels similar to me like saying for example ‘Let s pause developing healthcare because it might lead to overpopulation and thus to the destruction of mankind’.

Not really. Even with GPT-4's improvements, we are far (maybe decades) away from AGI.

In many countries, there is not enough doctors and nurses for the population. Many people don't have a family doctor. People have to wait to see a doctor, then wait again for tests and again for treatments or surgery. The wait is often so long that the patient's situation has worsened considerably when time comes for a treatment or surgery. Many people die because it is too late or live in pain for a long time before their problem is resolved. Even in the best AI scenario, healthcare will not improve for the majority of people until the shortage of doctors and nurses is fixed. And with the population getting older, it will get even worse. Maybe robot doctors and robot nurses could be useful but it seems to be far away in the future.
