I have a "traditional" MTB seat and it fits mine perfectly. Not everyone has the same seat as you mate. And it is 100% worth £40 or 30 dollars especially if you're an average rider or above because you should have pretty good ballence meaning you can stand up and put your seat up. Also when would you ever need to DESPERATELY put your seat up? Like it's not as if you're going to die you can just stand or get off your bike.

Are you certain you can't adjust the seat angle to point up or down? I'd double check that.

He can slide the saddle backwards and tilt the seat forward again

These are shit. There is no bottom micro adjust. You can cut and grind it out to add the base plate and it works....aside from that mine lasted for three rides before the seals gave out.

Dang, I wish that they also made a $60 version, with an actual cable and lever and proper seat adjustment. As it is right now, it's just a glorified quick-release seat pot clamp, I'd take my quick release over this any day of the week.

Are u sure the post isn't installed backwards? It would explain the wonky seat... also all the others I've seen have the lever in the front

Do you think the yellow lever can be replaced? Is it being secured by Allen screw?

Yeah I think it could be done, might be difficult to find a fitting replacement though. Another possibility would be shortening it but then it would be harder to open/ close
