My Bike Yoke Revive has been amazing. Super easy action, virtually no trouble and an easy "reset" switch fixed any problem.

For how long did you have it? Any play?
@Wizler717 ай бұрын
@@LaurentiusTriarius It was on my Ibis Ripmo for 5 years and I had very little trouble. It was reliable and required minimal maintenance. I never had any sticking and I only used the reset like 4 times ever--once after I had the bike upside down for trailside tire repair and that seemed to upset the dropper (not sure why because it's not hydraulic). But the easy reset made it perfect again. I had a bit of squishy play once but my air psi was low then it was fine.

Ive owned 4 different brands of dropper post and other than the lever operation I honestly can't see the difference between any of them. Impressive we can have such in depth videos about about a simple component. Wireless ones are the only ones offering something different but price is stupid. I've never had a seat post that didn't move down fast enough when I sat my arse on it. Best price and most reliable with a nice lever are all I'd care about.
@LaurentiusTriarius7 ай бұрын
To me they all move fast enough but they all developed intolerable amounts of play. I'd pay double any of these to have one last 1+ season without play.
@chrisanderson85787 ай бұрын
@@LaurentiusTriarius yeah I agree on this. Until that point they are pretty much all the same. Then you get them bouncing when you sit on them etc. If they are easy to service and rectify that problem then that's good to me but trying to review a bunch of brand new ones and comment on how fast they move up and down seems nonsense to me. Tell me how they all feel after 6 months of constant use and I'm all ears :)
@bikeradar7 ай бұрын
The differences are small and you'd need to ride completely back to back as we did to notice them in most cases. Most dropper posts are so good now (like most things on your bike!) the gaps in performance are narrower than ever. Great for everyday riders, harder for us as testers!

After forks it’s arguably the next most important thing to allow capability. I bought 4 off brand-x ascend to make the whole fleet droppered. First 2 were £70 each and the second two were £30!!! The bike yoke divine sl on the best bike is 200 g lighter but what, >£300 with the lever. It returns stupid fast (literally shoots up!) while the brand x are a bit slow. I find 100 mm works best for me as any deeper on xc I feel like I’m squating up from quite low after dropping it, that’s the only complaint I’ve got on the divine I have is ~120. Certainly even a cheap remote dropper for 1lb is still transformational. Sure the HT isn’t 9.5 kg anymore, but it’s much more capable.

@@bikeradar thanks for the input, I was coming back from my morning ride I'm kinda fed up with droppers even considered getting a fixed seatpost... To be perfectly honest I'd pay more for a well engineered cable actuated dropper than a wireless, I ditched GX AXS last year for a TRP drivetrain on my main trail bike, banging gears as fast as I could was fun but not caring about batteries and chain slap was a tangible upgrade. Now running TRP drivetrain on two bikes, soon 3 🤘 back to the future...

@@LaurentiusTriarius I have the same thoughts as you and after a bunch of research the bikeyoke posts seem to be the most promising in terms of reliability and lower maintenance. I'm looking at the devine SL 125mm for my procaliber on XL frame (I'm 190cm)....only thing left to decide is if 125mm is enough drop for me, but I like the low weight of the devine SL. I don't do any hardcore enduro or jumps - mainly greens, access roads, and asphalt, and a decent amount of climbing.

The Reverb AXS is very good, but it really, really needs to come in longer travel formats now, 170mm is just too short for a lot of riders. If a 170mm post is fine for you, it's great, but its crying out for more drop! If you need more, the BikeYoke or OneUp would be our choice. BikeYoke is fantastic, but very spendy, the OneUp is just a brilliant post for a reasonable price
@ellmusec2 ай бұрын
It's frustrating that the 'budget' option is £290 and doesn't even come with a remote. Sure if you're racing then save weight but as long as the dropper is the right size for you then that's all that really matters. Even sub £100 droppers are quick to return, if it's not working smoothly you simply haven't set it up correctly or you need to service it. If you're spending £750 on a dropper you have to be absolutely loaded or mad, spend it on coaching or a trip to the alps.
