the problem with these mega campaigns is that any decent player can do a world conquer in basically any paradox game so you really have to hold yourself back and roleplay to make it all the way to stellaris and have the gameplay still be interesting

I don't see the problem in restricting yourself a bit and go for a more roleplay approatch. As he's playing Rome (no surprise there) going for a somewhat historical route should be fun enough. (Or he could do the crazy things like going to America.)

@@ahapxir They have to use blobbing stopping mods which makes harder to conquer new land before you core or ”assimilate” land which you conquered previously. When I made two mega campaigns myself I used antiblobbing mods or similar to it. Most of these mods are compatible with conversion or atleast you can save game with these mods disabled!

A mega campaign where you play a different nation every time you switch games could be fun. At Hoi4 you should have several large empires and the winner influences the stellaris playthrough.

That province that flips in your early Imperator game can sometimes happen. It's a scripted event that one of those two nations have and the province flip is one of the options. Eturia has one for the one you declared on and Rome as well, but usually the nations refuse the offer.

Roads are also great for cities. Every city connected to a road adds a small bonus to Import Routes for that province and a few other benefits.

Just a small thing, as far as i am aware, the light eyes color and eurolike features in central asia are found in the region before the Macedonian conquest. Those being remnants of the Indo-European migrations to the region from (probably) the caspian sea

the game had many nice mechanics, but i really hated the characters sistem. Many annoying events for especific characters that you dont even care. To me they should have created a faction sistem for the families, and you should not need to micro manage characters. They could have done something similar to the europa universalis states, but with families and dinamic. The royal family would be like the crown and the other families could have something like legacies giving bonus, so you could give privileges, positions and so on for the family to manage their happines, if they happy they get bonus. Another thing i would eliminate is the necessity of giving positions to all families, but if a family is strong you would need to give positions to make them happy, but if they are weak because they already have nothing it should not matter
