The best place to buy fruits in Brazil are the pop-up farmers' markets (feira) on the street. It's dirt cheap! The mercado municipal is a huge ripoff. The prices are for tourists. Ask your doorman which days the feiras happen in your neighborhood. At the edge of the markets, there are normally vendors that sell pastries with meat inside (pastel) and sugar cane juice (caldo de cana).

In Rio you will notice that the black beans is very typical there. Dont forget to try a feijoada. Complete feijoada is made with a lot of pork meat...literally all the parts of the pork. If you try the light feijoada, it comes with the kielbaza, bacon and not so different part of the pork. I am a little pick so I like the light version of feijoada but you should try both. The feijoada also comes with a delicious kale, farofa (flaked corn meal), rice, and vinagrete (tomatoes, vinegar, onions, parsley). It is a really good dish for lunch. Dont forget to add the caipirinha to complete your meal. Enjoy Rio and have a safe trip.

If it weren't for the coronavirus it would be almost impossible to walk. There would still many things to see in the city. The Italian colony in the city is huge and therefore has many canteens and pizzerias. And Yet on the South Region there is the Cataratas do Iguaçu (Google on it), which remains on a state side by side with São Paulo, the Paraná State. In the Northeast region u will find many historical places on cities like Salvador and Recife, beautiful beaches on cities like Maceió, Salvador, Olinda, Fortaleza, Itacaré, and even some experiences like trails and so on the Chapada Diamantina, a Natural Park on the state of Bahia. In the Center-West region the most known place to visit is the Pantanal, which is a biome and natural park where you will find many many beaultiful places, probably the best city to visit pantanal is the city of Bonito. Also on the Center-West, there is the Jalapão Natural Park on the state of Goiás. On the North Region u will find the Amazon Rainforest (so many things to do) and many local culture places to go. Also on the Southeast, just side by side with São Paulo there is the Minas Gerais State, which hold the city of Ouro Preto, probably the most conserved historical City of Brazil. Sorry for the long text, but that’s even just a part of our country hahaha, Enjoy It!

I am surprised to see so many places closed on your adventures in Brasil. 😢 I had the understanding that the country was far more relaxed than most and not boarding up under covid.

Interesting. Me, quite the opposite! I was surprised to see soooo many people in the streets and. markets while COVID is as rampant in Brazil as it is in the U.S.

Yes we thought the same. For the most part it is more open and free than most other countries, however some businesses still remained closed.

@Uncle Gold I love the Bronx. I lived there a decade ago. Now it seems too crowded. It's for young people; too vibrant. I am older now. I preffer places that are more quiet.

Brazilian cities as their people are always fun. Bacalhau (Portuguese), bacalao (Norwegian/Spanish) is dried and salted cod. Cod is not just one fish, but a fish family. I think they live only in northern Atlantic and northern Pacific, so the Brazilian bacalhau might be imported. In Peru, people used to eat Norwegian bacalao during Easter. Maybe it is the same in Brazil. BTW, fresh fish should not smell like fish.
@carlosespinoza24534 жыл бұрын
Antonino, Cod or Bacalao is also caught in Peru. It is a deep sea fish . Probably not the same specie as in Norway
@antoninocarrubba37804 жыл бұрын
@@carlosespinoza2453 I googled what you said, and you are completely right. Peru has deep-seated cod. Thank you for the info. I googled about Brazil, and they import cod.

Something interesting: the other side of that avenue where the AirBnb is located there's a place called "Estadão", they have the most beloved sanduich of the city - Lanche de Pernil do Estadão. The mortadela sandwich is more famous but it's kind a tourist trap, the locals usually goes for the Lanche de Pernil. And in São Paulo there's a lot of Municipal Market. That one is the central and most famous one, but it's also the most expensive. There's 15 Municipal Market in the city.

Fruits are very expensive in this market, very much OMG. It is expensive because foreigners usually go, so they put these values very expensive. Try to go to street feiras, fruits are cheap at feiras. Love from Brazil ❤️

Bacalhau is used a lot in Portugal, so they brought that culture to us during colonization. There are tons of different dishes you can do with ans since is dryed it last a long time. Also, Mercado Munincipal is fun but is a big tourist trap, locals rarely buy from there, is mostly for restaurants that buy in larger quantities and tourist that buy in dollar so they don't know how ridiculous the price is.

Soooo good, but it makes u asleep lol Mercado Municpal is expensive, but it's nice to get know once. U should've eaten "Pastel" there(or somewhere in popular street market).... it's yummy! And also, the popular street market is cheaper.
