Shells because millions of years ago the Andes were under the ocean, Andes are still growing. Who will find the shells through out the Andes.
@lindseyfw29034 жыл бұрын
So fascinating!
@saratrejo66584 жыл бұрын
@@lindseyfw2903 It's true that the Andes rose from the water, however these shells are not from those times. For shells to have survived millions of years they would have to be fossilized. Those shells you guys keep finding are very obviously not fossilized shells. The Andes used to be part of the seafloor. The seabed got pushed up and seawater salt was trapped in the rocks. Now it filters out through the spring. Of course that doesn't answer why these particular shells are there. haha

Regarding the number of subscribers in yourube, I totally agree not sure what is going on but for the kind and quality of your content you should have many more subscribers to not say millions 😉 . I actually think you should be featured in peruvian tv (in one of this Sunday magazines like DiaD, Domingo al Día, etc.) with your covid journey through Cuzco. Perhaps you need to be on FB too so we all can share your videos there... any TV channel related guys here? And at minimum, I would say you guys have earned the right to enter Macchu Picchu first once they open it!! 😁 That would be actually so awesome but totally deserving 🥰

Alex! Lindsey!! You are literally rewinding something I unwound 15 years ago. Blow by blow, almost verbatim. Your video starts out with my journal entry from July 2005. My unaltered words: " We got back to the town of Maras a little later than expected but were hellbent on going to the saltmines. Taxi ride could have gotten us there quicker, but all three of us wanted the experience of walking. Locals told us it was a half hour walk. Well, a half hour maybe at some superhuman speed!!! We found out only later, of course, that the hike is a good 5 miles..." So the myth of a half hour is well and alive.

Hi guys, it was very generous of you to help that lady at the store. You asked who else in Peru you could help and think people who sell on the streets would be good candidates, we call them " ambulantes". Unlike the lady at the store who owns her store and is open most of the day ambulantes make so much less because they get out to sell for a couple or a few hours. I hope that helps.

About the shells, I read a scientific article that explained that it's normal to find shells in the Andean mountains. That proves that millions of years ago the sea level was over the mountains. In fact, the Andes was formed by the collision of two tectonic plates that were under the ocean. After the collision, both blocks of land rise creating mountains. Seashells are proof of that natural process. ☺️
