If Hilton was blitzing a lot for the Vikes, it only increases the importance of having two other CBs & at at least one Safety who can cover well. So, IMHO, adding Hilton would absolutely require the Vikes to re-sign both Murphy & Bynum, or sign Hilton & DJ Reed are signed, and Murphy could be allowed to leave for greener pastures. The fact that Hilton would be good against the run is nice, but if Kwesi A-M signs/drafts the kind of IDL player I envision, then Hilton's run defending skills will be nice, but not as necessary. For me, the ideal situation would be for the Vikes to bring back Murphy & Bynum, and also sign DJ Reed. Then, Flores could have a ton of flexibility with Murphy, Reed, Blackmon & McGlothern disguising coverages & 'taking turns' being the slot CB, depending on how the opposing offence changes calls at the line & does its pre-snap shifts.

We don’t need Byron on the outside he’s a pro bowler in the slot. The Vikings don’t corner blitz that much. I like Hilton or Byron not both.
