I live on a lake here about 30 minutes away yet I am minutes from NYC , ski slopes or the ocean After traveling all over the world i would not live anywhere else. I lived in Greenwich from 2004 to 2014 and before moving we tried to sell our 12,000 square foot home for twelve million and no one has bought it yet. You miss one "zero" behind the number. Property tax rate 2.4% in NJ. let assume the property sold at asking price, meaning at least $800000 in property tax a year. And you only deduct max 10k in your tax return, so it does not economically sounds.
