Tyranitar is supposed to be an original drawing by Sugimori made for a gaming magazine and not actually intended for Pokemon, but then folks from GameFreak saw it and decided to turn it into a Pokemon.

Many of theese were proabably refined into different pokemon. Barunada probably was refined into Drifloon. The Cactus probably became Cacnea The elephant into Donphan. Raitora may have become Raikou along the way(both are based off of the tiger for of Raiju; Though Raitora is closer to it's inspiration.) The Yeti pokemon may have been the basis for Abomasnow The frog with topnot was likely refined into Politoed. The preevolution of Zubat likely became Woobat. The Marowak evolution was likely refined into Kangaskan The first stage of the bird fish may have been the basis of Natu. Omega may have inspired both Aggron and Durlodon, both having a rivalry of sorts with Tyranitar.

This is one thing I wish they would have included, since it makes zero sense for each Cubone to wear its mother's skull. How can they breed and not die out? I would have loved some sort of change to the lore, where they discover that Cubone is like a branched evolution where if they don't receive their mother's skull, they become something else (which would explain how the species didn't die off immediately)

well it would make more sense if the cubone line ended like that rather than with kangaskhan because of the whole skull being passed down. They probably just took that evolution and turned it into kangaskhan to make a new pokemon.

It would be cool for Garuchu to come back, maybe as a regional evolution that only occurs in that region. Maybe it’s a Dragon/Electric type, also, it can be a very hard evolution requirement, like, come on, it would of been nice to see it in Galar, but that was probably a miss opportunity, but hopefully, it’s in Gen 9, or, it can be a Mega Raichu, it’s just that, that design just looks Badass and shouldn’t have been scrapped, but should’ve been a hidden evolution that barely anyone knows of, even the guides can’t help you, and it would take at least a year before someone finds out how to get it, and record it, then posts a “How to” guide on Garuchu What, I can dream, can I?

I still feel that Gorochu evolves from Pikachu with time capsule trading or time travel. Originally, my idea is that just like how you use the time capsule in Gen 2 to send over Pokemon to Gen 1, I figured that same could have happened in a later game.

Out of the 190 planned pokemon, *40* were cut; THEN Mew was programmed and added to the earliest slot (21 in decimal; 15 in hexadecimal). Mew was originally planned to not actually appear in the game at all, but merely be mentioned; late in development, after the last of the debugging tools was removed, enough space was freed up, so an employee added Mew in. EDIT - 3:33 - Omega was the originally planned occupant of Mew's slot, so there almost was *40* types of Missingno.!

@@TheObsessiveGamer ALL of the cut ones, INCLUDING from unleaked protos and asset leaks and backups. and the region should be an overhauled version of the Nihon region from Gold/Silver Spaceworld 1997, with Kanto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh integrated into it, Kanto... where Kanto would be, Hoenn where South City would be, and Sinnoh where The snowy towns are.

@@WinVisten some of these probably wouldn't make the cut anyway because of being quite generic and simple (cough cough baloonda cough,which was likely eventually turned into drifloon or jigglypuff if anything at all) or they would just have to be redesigned Then there's the gyaoon preevo...they definitely took that design and made the substitute doll after gen 2 Then there's the kotora line which honestly wouldn't need any major changes,gorochu could maybe work as a region exclusive evolution of raichu. Honestly would be a quite interesting game and it would also be nice if they added some development assets (if they still have them) as a bonus at that.

I always wonder, what if pokemon games today stuck with the same idea red and blue started with? A angled-top-down camera with sprites in a 3d pixel textured world; options to add or remove colour (like gb, gbc, gba and ds modes) with chiptune music options and a watercolour artstyle. Another thought I had was, if pokemon games were still 2d (or 2.5d) how much could they fit on the cartridge? Like say they released Sword and Shield in 2d like pokemon gold and silver; how many regions and pokemon could they fit, now that 3d isn't a thing? Could we fit all 8 regions on one game?

Magnetall should have been the third evolution of Magnemite. It literally has legs, so now it can walk. Magneton is just three Magnemites stuck together, so it'd make a lot more sense to put Magnetall in front.

I know I’m late to coming to this analysis but the only reason I can think these were cut is that the Pokémon encounters were some of the FIRST they added and fleshed out so they went ham with it. As trainers and story and items were added, they needed to trim in places but Missingno spaces really are just blank data(which when the gameboy tries to read of course has its unique results). These cut Pokémon were sprites, attacks, etc etc so cutting a bunch left a bunch of space elsewhere

Great vídeo ma man :) about the 6 pokemons left, there are at least 2 of them that were applied in the later games. One is Ho-oh (Gen 2) and the other is Munna (Gen 5). The first One appears on the second Pokemon episode and the other One is mentioned by a Lass in the 1 Gen games before reaching Lavender Town. I will not talk about another one that was strongly talked (if you heard about it too), cuz i dont have proofs. It was talked about a 4th Legendary bird Pokemon that should be in the games, but it was removed cuz the creators only wanted 3 Legendary birds. You think those 2 are part of the 6 missing ones?

From what I've heard They were already on work with Gen 2 at the time It's was likely put in the anime in its beta stage with the final form appearing a couple of years later officially This would explain the legendary Arcanine in the anime Since something like it was to be the cover legendary rather than Lugia

@@ilikestuff9250 i think they started the beta of Gen 2 in the middle of gen 1 Pokémon episodes, not before the first episode. About the 4th Legendary Pokémon removed from gen 1 games, i don't think it was Lugia. I remember that legendary bird was supposed to be ghost and flying but the ghost type was considered too "powerfull" without anything super effective against it (dark type was only available since gen 2). I believe Phancero of Pokémon Prism was created in "honor" of that legendary bird removed from gen 1, although its a dark type and not a ghost type. (Phancero is considered a fakemon ofc).

The mixed Nidorino Nidorina makes sense to make it genderless like the rest back then, since it would save 3 spots for 3 other kind of pokémon. 4:30 looks like Mudkip. Croaky looks kinda like Volvagia from the Zelda series, might be why it didn't make it.

@@TheObsessiveGamer No seriously, when gen 1 was being made they had at least 200 pokemon, but what is funny is in the prototype of gen 1 mew is actually 191 saved in the game data before omega was replaced in slot 21. Turns out we never figured out what pokemon was index 135 so it turns out there should be at least 191 pokemon in gen 1. But with the gen 2 prototype at least 100 pokemon were scrapped and so we had roughly 351 pokemon that were in total but because 255 pokemon can't be saved in 8 bit game unless they did something clever it had to be cut down and more.

Yeah I did mention that in the video about the 200+ Pokemon but then brought it down to 191 including the whole thing about Mew and Omega and the 6 index slots that are still a mystery to us. Not sure what your pointing out that I left out here?

If Gorochu were made official instead of cut away, then it would be a 3rd form evolution, since Pichu is baby, Pikachu is basic, Raichu is 1st stage. Would there be another form of Gorochu as well? Idk... And it doesn't matter because it is not official.
