Very good advice. About the high ball to the back hand. How if I can't really step around in time? Do you deliberately practice hitting high underspin ball to the backhand?
@OlavKTTT7 сағат бұрын
I wouldn't push high deliberately, because that just gives your opponent more time to step around (even if they're slow) ...

Thank you for sharing your expertise. Please expand on using forearm during forehand topspin and the angles.

Great Video, a nice Christmas present for us! I'd love to see an even more in depth video on 3rd ball or 5th ball strategies. Containing a rougher map on what balls to generally expect after certain serves and how to game evolves after a couple of points and how you the adapt. Have a great Christmas and hopefully there will be many more videos coming from you, you are one of the best tabletennis channels out there!

That's a good idea, though you can never 100% predict where the receive is going. Maybe in the future!

Thanks for the tips. Very helpful. Though I just got the advice to wait longer and not go immediately for that third ball because apparently I was too aggressive.

There's a difference between being aggressive and rushing.

Upspin or topspin

It's a strange way of phrasing it but i think it's more accurate as you can't produce top spin serves without going up in some sort of way.

Tomato tomato, I mix them up but they mean the same.

Thanks Olav, your videos are all so informative and useful. I know you're really busy but I'd love to get your thoughts more on heavy backspin serve Vs float serve, I'm getting better spin with ghost serve now but want a float serve that looks similar, mine looks so obvious when I do it (lucky for my level if it's low even if people read it I can get in first but the added deception would help a lot). Anyway, merry Christmas and enjoy the holidays Olav

Hey you could always copy the Waldner fast float serve this is what I do now, I basically switch all my serves to it's form so even though my opponent can see my blade all the time they can't really till how much back spin I'm applying to the ball specially when i sometimes add sneaky float like side spins. Really annoys the fuck out of my friends since they can't complain about hiding my serves.

@nabkawe yeah I do use that one a lot too, as a LH and my main serve being pendulum I tend to serve mostly short FH and try to do long BH as a variation so this one works well for that, or if they're good with this one then do long backspin

Thanks, and try to pay enough attention to how you touch the ball (at the end of your rubber for no spin), that would be my advice.
