I appreciate and enjoy your analytical style commentary on the cards. It’s been a very useful spring board for intuition (psychic ability) to come through. 🙏

Thank you for the thoughtful discourse. My understanding is that you can start with the analytic style to learn the cards and then let it go to some extent so that your psychic abilities can come through. After all where are you getting your advice/messages from to help you pick the cards if not from a higher source/connection, ie your psychic connection? This video is 2 years old so perhaps you have changed your perspective since then. 🥰🙏

Will certainly be adding to my library. Thx! Personally, I fall into the 4. Most dominant style being psychic/therapeutic. Your thoughts regarding psychic style, interesting. My experience/perspective - This was my start-up style nearly 25 yrs ago and since have continued being a student of the Tarot. That said, for me, in a reading if I begin focusing too much on the cards (analytical style) or use elaborate speads, I risk getting too much in my head and can lose the connection. Psychic style is connecting to the querent's energy and to spirit. This is also where messages from higher are received and enable the reading to be much more profound in delivering messages in the areas of love, growth, healing and sometimes to take heed. Imo, utilizing all styles is beneficial. But I would encourage all not too become too analytical, as one will only limit. Try to develop those psychic abilities (which believe all have). For this is where the true magic happens.♡

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I agree that the psychic style is much more nuanced than it may seem.

You were asking in which of Mary Greer’s book do the styles appear? It’s in “21 Ways to Read a Tarot Cars” Appendix G, which details each style, and which steps it includes.

Ahh thank you! I actually have that book so I'll look it up soon.

I think a possible pitfall with especially with style 4 but possibly with style 2 is losing your sense of morality into the morality of whatever system of tarot one studies. What I've realized is that most systems of tarot have certain principles of ethics shown by the "positive or negative" aspects of certain cards. Presupposed messages of cards can show certain beliefs or notions about what is right to do or what is most healthy and studying these messages per card can limit growth or nuanced directions in life in my opinion. Aside from her style of reading the cards, Camelia Elias really interests me for her apporach to morality or advice from the cards.

So interesting, thank you! Now I'm thinking about my decks and wondering if any of them lend themselves to, or even lead me toward, a certain style of reading? Can I identify a set of characteristics shared by these decks or those decks that seem, to me, to fit a particular style? What was it about the latest deck I brought into my collection that attracted me, in this context? Journal out! 😊 🥰 😊

These are great ideas for journaling prompts, thanks for sharing! Someone asked about this on IG and of course the answer is going to be quite personal to each of us, but in general, I think 'pip' decks IE Marseille are best suited for the analytic style. :)

I want to know how do you do a split in profits for the spacious tarot with the artist?

I totally agree with the synthesis part of the analytical style, I think I fall into this category but it doesn't bother me if person use the psychic style... it could be a good way to develop abilities but for serious readings I agree the person should be well developed. I thought about looking for a therapist that used tarot that would be really nice depending on how they use it. I ordered Tarot and Psychology. Thank you for breaking this down🙂

Hi, Carrie! I just saw this video after watching "The 8 Principles of Evolutionary Tarot" and I wonder, is evolutionary tarot a type of therapeutic style or a style of its own? What do you think?
@CarrieMallon3 жыл бұрын
Hi, this is such a good question, thanks for asking! I believe I mentioned this somewhere in the other video, but I would say Evolutionary Tarot can incorporate all four styles, but not in equal measure. It's mostly therapeutic, followed by magical, then analytic, and just a little bit of psychic.
@rosaliedc3 жыл бұрын
@@CarrieMallon Thanks for answering! I find it a bit confusing as the principles of evolutionary tarot are very similar to the general style of therapeutic tarot. I wonder what the differences are, could it be that the therapeutic approach needs the person receiving the reading to be more involved in it?

Tarot for Yourself Wtf HOW could you not know this??? You’re very experienced 🤣 It may not be the 1st time pretty sure it’s not in the Constellations book or Mirrors….

As another commenter pointed out, the four styles of reading tarot are mentioned briefly in an appendix of '21 Ways to Read a Tarot Card.' It's not in 'Tarot for Yourself' to my knowledge, feel free to share more specifically if you know otherwise.
