As someone who runs a music store, this is what I imagine any time the repair shop sends something back saying "the cost of repair would be greater than the worth of the instrument". There's always a part of me that says "...okay but what if we fixed it anyway?"

Whenever I watch Wade play drums I get super inspired, realize I’m not nearly as good as him and get discouraged. But one day I just kinda told myself: “This guy has been playing most his life, and has a music degree.” Now I practice to try and get as good as him *Eventually*

I've had a fair few new writers say they could never hope to be as good of a writer as me. What I always tell them is that I'm only as good of a writer as I am because I've been doing it for 8 years now. Same goes for you and your drumming, my dude. Keep at it, and one day you might hear someone say they can't be as good as you. Tell them the same thing.
