I grew up in an abusive family while also having been on my death bed multiple times so that's part of what I was saying is that I've learned to make my own. Unfortunately when I got married, I only knew basics and planned for a Cancer wedding. The downfall? Capricorn 4th house. I do get that being challenging, as to you I'm sorry about that not being something you can just get out of. :/ We've learned to face everyday one at a time. Just now after 3 1/2 years of being married, we have a home due to unfortunate circumstances. Hang in there! :)

I have Uranus, Neptune, and Mars in my 4th house of Sag. I did move 6 times during my childhood. Plus, I ran away once. My home was very chaotic growing up and I hated being there. Once I moved away, I never once imagined living with either parents ever again.

That's a great explanation(6:54-7:15). I'm a Sagittarius with my Sun in the 3rd house as I said in your video on 3rd house astrology. Anyway, my IC or 4th house cusp is also in Sagittarius and I have no planets there but my chart ruling planet(Mercury) is conjunct to the cusp by 4 degrees so obviously that planet influences a lot of that house as well as the sign. After getting that understanding, it connected me to so many things about my life that lets me know why so many are passionate about astrology. I won't get too deep because I've written a lot already but I'm enjoying your house astrology videos. Thank you for doing this so long ago and keeping it up for people like me to learn.

This is astrology at its finest. I have my sun in the 4th house and have always been struggling with the interpretation of it. Most astrology articles about the 4th house will point out that I love my roots and my family dearly and are deeply connected to them. While this is true on a certain level, I have never been close to my parent and felt alone in my own home, which causes me to feel unfamiliar with the definition of family. But it was very true that I always try to come back to myself, to find who I really am and gain peace from it. I have my 4th House in Aries. And a shitton of planets in there. It's not crammed per se, but 4 planets in a Stellium is pretty big. (5 with Ceres) My Sun's in there, and I always thought about how my Ego Revolves around how I feel beneath the surface, especially in family matters, family gatherings, people who I feel intimately connected to that I live with. I've also realized that the Sun being there represented my need to find a home for myself. Some sort of soul home for being me and liking me. Which, with Aries there, means I also want it to be a process of self-discovery and self-awareness. My Saturn is closest to Sun, being conjunct. It's always seemed like my family life has had restrictions that have weighed me down, responsibilities to take on, rules to consider. I've applied these rules on myself in an Arian way, since it's all about rules on my character or persona. Saturn has represented at worst, my conformity, and at best my self-discipline that really gets the job done in an assertive, spontaneous way and honors myself. Mars is farther away, but my family life has always been fiery and dynamic and oftentimes exhausting. This is because I want to flow easily and i want to be without pretense. I want to be me, and then I want those who I spend my life with to be ok with that. My Drive is very related to my family. I'm not driven for them, it just revolves around their perceptions. Lastly, Mercury is there too, and my communication is very Arian. But it's also retrograde. I communicate as honestly and directly as I can, but I over-think and over-speculate a lot about how that will look and appear to others. In family matters I've always been kind of quiet as I've grown to tread carefully, but since this is Arian Mercury, I really need to express, and if I don't I feel bad and get down on myself with destructive criticism. Aries is one of the signs that needs to be free and self-motivated, so I've learned how to deal with my Arian Retrograde Mercury in the House of Soul/Home and how I can't always be concerned with what everyone thinks about the stuff I share. But I also don't need to be pretentious about it, and can still learn from the other person how to communicate in different ways. Thank you Alyssa :)

You know, your take on the 4th house changed my entire understanding of myself back earlier this year when I first saw this video-- I have Aquarius on the IC, and north node in the 4th (never resonated with the whole "working from home" or "being domestic" interpretation, hell no-- moving towards my true self is way closer to what I feel like I need to do in this life). I really am an Aquarius deep down--it resonates almost as much as my moon sign :D Rebellious, concerned with fairness, kinda awkward and detached with other people's emotions (and analytical/detached with my own too, which is fun when my actual moon is in Pisces lmao they're both doing their thing parallel to each other... idk how that works but it found a way and it's really fuckin weird to experience), ESPECIALLY as a kid omfg who gave all those adults the right to tell me what to do!! I was so goddamn determined not to fit in.... just hated everything everyone liked on principle even tho I was secretly totally into it...... awful.... now I just wanna change the world which I guess is Aqua's idea of "chilling out", gimme a break I wish people paid more attention to the IC and the 4th house, it's such a strong influence for a lot of us, and it's so important to come back to yourself so you can feel rooted when you're out in the world, SO THANK YOU for putting this out there! I could have one but it has to be original lol I don't even think about getting married or having kids. I'm not close to my family either. I have my south node conjunct my fourth house (Pisces), meaning that my north node is in my midheaven--actually, it conjuncts my midheaven AND my sun. So, my fourth house cusp opposes my midheaven, my sun, and (of course) my north node. Probably for that reason, I've always felt a really strong compulsion to get away from my family tradition and the place where I grew up, and I've always seen career as the way to do that. Still, with the addition of the north and south nodes in my MC and IC respectively, I feel a karmic need to fulfill my MC and abandon the affairs of my IC. Interestingly enough, my draconic sun is in Pisces, too, so there is a LOT of karma going on there.

alyssa you're right about not being sure of who i am when my public image is in display my midheaven is in virgo i.e when i have to perform because i sing. and the stage seems so much more bigger than me then it is. plus it takes a lot of energy out of me to give who i am to the audience when i am not sure of myself. i struggled with that for awhile. but now i am okay. i love connecting with others but how much of me do i give when i'm on display. its like an adrenaline rush it just comes pouring out, with no way how to control it.

I moved sooooo much as a kid. 6 times in ten years, so about every two years it was a blurr of showings, open houses, packing, cleaning, and new schools, houses, neighbourhoods. Twice we had to move two times in one place for housing reasons. I hated it! I hated always being the new girl and it made me prey to bullies. I was always hesitant to make friends because eventually I realized what was the effing point if I was leaving soon? (this was before SM). I've come to understand that while my 10th house is in pisces, and it feels good to be acknowledged there, I ultimately need to bring my roots, or my virgo nature of my roots to my forefront of who I am and wear it proudly? I have Pisces in the fourth house and I have Saturn in the fourth. When my mom was a poor teenager from Bridgeport Conn. she sold her soul to go to Yale. At Yale she met my dad who was from a very prominent family and they fell in love. However, my grandma on my dad's side of the family hated my mom and said that she was a low life. My mom became devastated and cheated on my dad and came home pregnant with my sister, who is half black. Then my dad's mom took my dad away and set him up with a really high class lady. I was the product of this and all I know is that I'm half Asian. My mom then slept around again and came home pregnant with my other sister who is half Mexican. After that my mom pulled my dad back to her by kidnapping me away from my birth mom before I could even get a sense of her.

I have Venus and Neptune in Capricorn in the 4th House. I do have a very strong interest and appreciation for my roots and ancestry and even my home. I've done the DNA tests to find my ancestral roots, gone through records on Ancestry to try to complete my family tree, and started looking up information and history about the heritage since it was a bit lost growing up. I've recently learned that Venus is my strongest benefic because I have a Night chart, so looking to my fourth house is especially important. I love decorating too. But I'm not entirely sure how Capricorn colors this now. I feel like tradition is synonymous with Capricorn too for some reason. My partner has a Pisces IC. Interesting how I have Neptune in the 4th while his is ruled by Pisces which is ruled by Neptune now that I think about it. Anyway, thanks for this video!

See here’s the thing my mom is a Sagittarius lol so I know what your talking about and that’s her sun sign but I don’t think it’s that your sister didn’t want her family. It’s more of a I need space thing as a Pisces I do relate as a Pisces we do love people and we love to talk but sometimes for no reason at all I don’t want to talk anymore and I don’t want anyone else around me so I can “recharge” especially if something bad happens. And I don’t really tell anyone about how I am feeling emotionally drained as to not “step on toes” so to speak or hurt anyone’s feelings.

Hi Alyssa, Thank u for your take on the 4th house. I have 4 planets(Sun,Mercury,Jupiter & Uranus) in this house and its a very private part of my chart yet important. I don't really have much of an attachment to my home. Probably because I have Uranus in this house...which can make one be on the move suddenly...I have my sun sign here and would love to have a home based business in the near future.X

Yes, the fourth house is exhausting. I've had nothing but 4th house drama lately. A lot of it is about not feeling like I'm 'where I belong.' That's how I always think of the 4th house. I moved back to where I grew up a few months ago, and its just does not feel like 'home' anymore. My dad is a Scorpio. He jabbers on about nonsense too. Must be a water sign thing. I curse Facebook for implementing an app that lets us look at our old statuses. I look back at shit I say and go "Really?" I have no planets in my 4th house. Totally devoid of Pisces energy.
