Just a word or advice to prolong all your hard work. Leave the suspension bolts loose until the vehicle is sitting at its natural height. This way the bush is in its natural resting position, rather than when the suspension is at its lowest point. Admire all your work, I’m on my second 1999 Hilux here in the uk 🇬🇧. Love the idea of a TDI PD swap. I have a Mercedes OM606 ready to go in mine.

Yo Austin, love the content, I’m a fan from BC, now living in Switzerland driving a Volkswagen AMAROK, you probably already know about it, but that truck and engine are a dream, There’s also a ton of VW diesel Taro/Hilux (Toyota frame) trucks roaming around here...sick...
@MussaKZN3 жыл бұрын
AMAROK 4motion no low range pansy shopping centre trolley! Yes yes in Australia they have 4x4 low range NOW but still not a Toyota Hilux and will never come close!!
@cecilPH3 жыл бұрын
@@MussaKZN LOL... totally I agree, the Low-Range topic I think today is on life support with these new trucks, I do though have the manual 6 cylinder turbo diesel, off-road spec, and locking rear differential. I'm originally from British Columbia Canada.. The Hilux is a great unit, great as a bush basher, tough as all heck but living in Canada the motors in the Toyotas lack a bit of power unless the engine and gearing isn't messed with, it will be something like 2024 before the HILUX gets a 6 cylinder but...my AMAROK suspension and wheel set up at the moment, is mostly high speed, snow and rough logging/mining roads here in Europe so ride quality, finish and suspension to suck it all up is paramount. it gets me where I need to go better than most... but your right, its not a Hilux, but I do look better, tow more and drive better than the Toyota, along with keeping pace with the Ranger Raptor.

I had a BHW in a 2004 Passat. After doing a BSM delete and a Malone Stage II tune, it was a great engine with around 40 MPGs. I eventually got rid of it because I stopped driving highway miles and it just seemed like all of the maintenance was super expensive. I sold it a few years ago. After about 6 months, the new owner told me that the water pump locked up and broke the timing belt. Ouch! He didn't blame me, he just wanted to give me an update on its fate. It would have had about 300k miles on it when it died.
