Great video. Replaced my valve cover gaskets two years ago at 289k. Also did timing, water pump, thermostat, u-joint, rear seals, and more. My '99 Limited will be good for another 300k. Awwww yeah. Been driving 3rd Gen 4Rs for over 20 years, before that I was driving the 1986 4x4 (the blue one you used to see all over). I was younger and insane, so I put that truck to the test - many times. Never failed me. Pulled a lot of people out of mud/snow...never got stuck. You cannot beat the Toyota trucks.

Excellent work, but one question.. why did you bother powder coating those spacers if you were going to leave that cross-member all crusty? Or is that for another video?

How are you liking that rear sway bar? I’m in the process of measuring up and ordering one. Will be going on the rear as well, looking for less body roll and more stability without losing much flex. My samurai acts the same as how you were describing your rig. Climb up a stump or rock and the whole thing will roll over like it’s gonna tip

@@moparmagic400 man it’s the best thing i did to the rig! Completely changed how it drives on the road and flexing. It feels so much more stable!

@ that’s great to hear! I’m ordering tomorrow haha. I didn’t even hear about these tk1 sway bars till I seen your video. Such a sick build dude, I would be scared to wheel it with how nice it is

I went with the Trakmotive axles and this issue is no more, boot stretch doesn't hold out for lifted 3rd gens, i did that as well and it tore eventually
