The 4x4 ROAD to Gray's and Torrey's peak trailhead in FALL season!!

Video of the entire 4 wheel road to Grays and Torreys peak summer trailhead. Is about 3 miles from the lower summer parking lot. Is only recommended for high clearence 4x4 vehicles, although I saw a chrysler minivan up at the top. I was lucky to do this drive on a beautiful FALL day!!! This video is fast forward twice the speed recorded it took me nearly 30 minutes to reach trailhead.

Was up there 9/28/2013 to hole Greys , much rougher now. Went again 10/3/2023 to do Torrey’s, tore off brake line from caliper , had to drive down that road with no brakes ( e-brake not sufficient to stop my Tundra in 2nd gear , automatic trans)

This road is very doable in the summer, but is a whole other story as soon as it gets some snow on it. I had to bail last year on my SUV as it was sliding backwards!!!

yuup!! you are better off parking at the 2 wheel parking lot or heading to beirstadt instead

Maybe it's because I'm from CO but... I got my '89 Nissan Maxima up this road. Certainly not as fast as you're driving 😉

Do you think high clearance is necessary to do drive this road or you think a Subaru wrx can make to TH?

I saw a dodge minivan up there plenty of subarus, I heard is gotten a little worse since I did this video, but not sure since haven't been back myself

Just did it today. Definitely wouldn’t bring any sedan over this road as it is right now. The parking area halfway is doable but above that it’s pretty rough.
