i don't remember the artist, but there is a high quality cutaway image out there on google of an arc-170 that was converted into something similar to the layout of the razorcrest but smaller. only had the front pilot seat and controls remaining with the bomb bay and rest of crew seats converted into a panel van converted to van-life type mini home and a side door below cockpit.

I'm more interested in smuggling, so I was thinking of the light freighters, particularly a member of the CEC YT series. The Nu class shuttle is an interesting design. My biggest concern is that it might raise a few too many eyebrows. For smugglers and bounty hunters, it is best to keep a low profile.

I think it depends on where in the timeline you are for the Nu. During the Clone Wars or early years of the Empire it would certainly be suspicious to rock up in a clearly stolen military shuttle, but by the time of the Civil War it probably wouldn’t turn any heads. IRL, there were farmers in Europe using Sherman tanks with the turrets removed as tractors and bulldozers, so I would think retired military equipment would be sought after for legitimate business purposes in Star Wars, too!

I think any model of YT freighter would be a fair choice. The Millennium Falcon 1300 has the passenger and freight variants, meaning you could almost go between smuggling and bounty hunting.

The YT-series really does make the most sense. Widely available & in common use, it doesn't attract attention. Comes in freight or passenger variants, parts & service are easily obtained, it's easily modifiable or expanded to your needs, & has a practical size to capacity ratio for hauling people or cargo, legit or otherwise. I'd personally choose the 1930 for freighting, & the 2000 variant for other uses.

I like most of these. Not the ARC170 or the Y-Wing though. And I am way too Anti-Seperatist to touch one of their ships. But I find myself strangely obsessed with Gozanti’s. The CROC class only needs one pilot apparently but there is something about the Imperial model’s wings… I’d need a ship with a bathroom naturally. So many fans forget about that kind of thing.

A Gonzanti would be a great bounty hunting ship. It probably has the internal capacity for a small starfighter on board, if the bounty hunter so desired.

My choices would be either the Lancer class pursuit craft, Theta class shuttle or a U-wing. The Lancer because its basically ready made for bounty hunting. Heavily armed, well protected, fast and nimble, spaces interior, comfortable living space. Downside is it would require additional crew to operate the guns effectively - this could be an apprentice and/or a droid. The Theta because of its speed, size and interior + i thinks its one of the prettiest ships in star wars. The U-wing for the same reasons you mention the ARC-170 and the Y-wing, i just thinks this craft fits the role better with its interior space.

My vote is for the Lancer. It one of my favorite Star Wars ships. It's just too bad we've never seen a live action version of one as a hero ship in a Star Wars movie or TV show. The brief glimpse of one you see parked in the shipyard on Ferrix doesn't count.

I think the U-Wing, though not as readily available, would make for a decent bounty hunting ship. Not as heavily armed though there are options to scramble nearby comes so there’s the option to sneak up on them. You also have the option of having a small team to work with, and room leftover for your bounty or three. Also more room for quarters for hyper space travel.

There is a reason why I would suggest not taking a "Starfighter." The term "Fighter." You park a van or panel truck in a neighborhood, and you will get, "Hmmm?" You park an APC or Tank in a neighborhood, and people will be going, "Ahhh Shit!"

I mean as a starter boutny hunter ship I would go with either the Lancer class pursuit ship( asajj Ventress Banshee) Or any of the CEC light frighter. Possibly from the YT series. My main thing is maintenance requirement abd availability of parts. Also important to choose a ship based on your wallet size.

Ochi's ship -- WTK-85A .. decent size, forward cannons and remote turret U-Wing or it's big brother the Zeta Breon H-39 Dayvan I have seen some visualizations of a "Correllian Tanker" that look interesting .. inverse of YT-1300 with central protruding shell _(convert to cargo/living space)_ .... if you're going to include a Gozanti Cruiser for *_beginner bounty hunters_* -- you might as well include a Hammerhead Corvette (which on Wookiepedia can be piloted by 1)

i like that the first recommendation is freighters, light or otherwise, because if at some point one decides that bounty hunting is actually not their speed, they can turn around and try their hand at cargo hauling, and see how that pays. (or if nothing else, you could split the difference, and do one or the other as the opportunities arise ?)

Would personally splurge for the C-ROC gozanti with the Corsair retrofit and the many extras that come with it. You get the reliability and toughness of the class plus you can find the parts anywhere in the galaxy. More than enough room to mod and expand as needed for crew ( organic or droid ) and prisoner alike. And like the vid said, if bounty hunting becomes unexciting, it would make for a great merc unit ship.

So, regarding light freighters, there is actually one model that's particularly the best, at least among YTs (not necessarily all light freighters). And this is the other reason why I gave my OC a YT-1760. The YT-1760 is a highly modifiable ship like all YT series freighters, but also boasts significantly more powerful sublight engines and a faster stock hyperdrive than other models. And since you're not going to be carrying cargo with it you can sacrifice your cargo capacity in favor of installing a bigger reactor, more powerful shield generators and beefier weapons. Maybe also consider getting auto-target for your turrets. As for any starfighters, just... don't. Not unless they're built like an Aegis Dynamics Avenger or a Consolidated Outland Mustang Beta from Star Citizen and thus actually have an interior. I feel like the Gozanti is overkill. It's a good recommendation in a vacuum, but it's better for if you're operating a bounty hunting team or other group, rather than operating solo.

It would be hard to beat the Gozanti, especially the C-ROC with corsair upgrades. It would give one the flexibility to do some piracy and cargo hauling on the side. A light freighter would be my second choice for it's comfort, anonymity, and ability to haul cargo for extra money and/or a cover. Another comment mentions the Lancer pursuit ship, which is essentially a suped up light freighter. I'm also partial to the WTK-85A, also mentioned by others, it's smaller size is probably optimal for bounty hunting but sacrifices the flexibility for cargo hauling and/or piracy.

Honestly the yv-929 is also a very interesting option Honestly because it's heavily armed and needing only 1 pilot and 2 gunners and with the weapons it still is able to carry 150 metric tons of cargo. A possibility is to make the guns with with the pilot and (astromech)droids for cheaper workforce and then still have space to still work and even live without constandly seeing your bounty since it has 3 levels one being living quarters

If it has to be any light freighter, i would go with the YT 2000 or any of the centrally adjusted cockpit so your aiming is easier. Your never going to use the cargo much unless your doing a side gig hauling freight or planning on being out there for long stints.

HWK-290 light freighter would be a good fit for that list. Aside from question of accessibility of the acquiring one on the market - the wiki sets it within Nu-Class price territory. It has flight characteristic of a starfighter [aside from weaponry] and as a courier ship can be used for long range travels and even housing a very small cell or two [or just rack for a carbonite-infused storage]. If its good enough for star wars`s Chuck Norris, its good enough for me.

When I was working as an enforcer I found that my trusty ol' CR-90 is excellent for capturing and bringing in bounties by the dozens for the boss. If you keep it maintained and looking pretty most Port Authority idiots will think your some upper crust aristocrat and leave you alone. Great for many criminal enterprises.

If i chose a ship i would most likely use an imperial shuttle and put most of my cargo on the outer area and modify it with shields and weapons. Give it a hot rod paint job and put a holding cell for a couple people and a small sleeping quarters and youve got a ship. They're litraly so easy to steal and i bet easy to modify with the right people.

I have always thought the LAAT gunship would make a great bounty hunter/smuggler ship. It's later models were space worthy, and could easily fit a hyper drive like the stealth variation had, and more than enough room for bunks, large cargo space, and holding a pair of speeder bikes. It has a good weapons platform too.

By the time you're through(with 'upgrades'), you've basically got a jankier Razercrest(which may have been the in universe reason for its creation), so why not save some time(and credits) and just buy one of those and upgrade it. The LAAT is meant to go from a mothership(in orbit) thru the atmosphere to land(while doing a bit light AA(anti air) and CAS(close air support) along the way).

I know the original plan for the LAAT was a transport, but the genius of the design by Rothana is that it has a lot of potential for modification/customization. It’s not my most ideal ship granted, but I thought following the first starting out and using a cheap ship would be a fun idea to try

"Slave 1 and the Razor Crest are already taken" - Slave 1 is just a modified firespray, it's not a unique ship, and the Razor Crest itself is a class. Also, honestly if you're a bounty hunter it's actually more effective that your mode of transportation doesn't stand out. You don't want your target to know you're coming. You do want something fast and with decent firepower, but you also want to blend in. That's actually partially why I gave my OC a YT-1760. Granted, I did want something somewhat unique as far as actual bounty hunter _characters_ go, but that's a doylist decision, not a watsonian one. Besides, if every bounty hunter had to have a completely unique ship, you'd end up with a situation where a Bounty Hunter ends up commandeering an Executor-class Star Dreadnought simply because that's the only option left.

You guys know you can buy the game X4 Foundations and install the Star Wars Interworlds mod, then you can fly any ship in the Star Wars universe. you can join the BH guild and chase bounties, or smuggle for the Hutts or work for Black Sun. Or you can build your own empire by taking over an outer rim sector and building your own fleets and stations, Fly for the Rebellion. Literally anything you want to do.

The Gozanti class cruiser would make a better smuggling ship. Bounty hunter ships has to be good in a dog fight. This cruiser wouldn't be nimble enough to pursue a fleeing quarry.
