@@KreiderAcademyNice work. Your kicking is better than mine. A couple things I've noticed. Most kids who kick badly have their planting foot too far back. The focus on the prep touch is on point, and you mentioned pointing the toe, but where you plant is critical. The second thing I would mention, because I've seen it taught wrong, is that inside of the foot kick starts straight, then you swivel the ankle halfway through the swing. I've seen non soccer players teach it by swiveling their hips out because that is the easiest way to get your inside of the foot forward, but it's super slow, awkward and weak.

I have a simple question (By the way thanks alot for the great tutorial, it's fascinating!) -what does "shooting across your body" really mean? 1) you Don't shoot straight X Instead you shoot the ball so it goes to the side ✓ 2) or maybe you get the ball from your side (for example right side) with a shot to the other side (left side) with the laces? 3) "shot across your body" means like "leg moves across your body" when you strike the ball? I appreciate your hard work 🫶🏼
@KreiderAcademy4 ай бұрын
Great question! It’s just my way of separating the two different laced shooting techniques. While you’re striking the ball with the same part of your foot, how you shoot is different so I broke them up into two different sections. So to answer your question, it’s your second explanation. I call it across body since the ball travels from my foot across my body towards the opposite side. For example, I’m shooting with my right foot and the ball moves to the left post. Whereas a laced straight shot stays on the same side as my body. So if I’m shooting with my right foot, the ball stays toward the right or it may even travel a bit further towards the right post. I hope this makes sense and I’m happy to hear you loved the video😊🫶🏼🫶🏼

That’s awesome! I love to hear that it’s helping your shooting😁 Let me ask some questions to get some more information to help! Can you shoot with power and accuracy without pushing the ball forward? Or is it something you’re struggling with overall? Are your shots lofted and soft? Or are the bouncy and roll on the ground? Is this also a problem when you play long passes or pings? Or is it a problem unique to shooting?
@dhyp566 ай бұрын
@@KreiderAcademy hello thanks for responding! I am able to shoot the ball with power when the ball isn't moving. I struggle a little with accuracy though so I'd appreciate it if you add in some tips for that too. Thanks so much!
@dhyp566 ай бұрын
@@KreiderAcademy yes, it is also hard for me to do long passes or pings without the ball being totally still.
@KreiderAcademy6 ай бұрын
@@dhyp56 since you can shoot and ping with a dead ball, I think you technique is pretty good. Since you’re struggling with a moving ball, I think the issue is your timing. When the ball is stopped you don’t have to worry about this. But since the ball is moving you have to strike the ball using your technique at the right moment. If you hit it too early, the ball is still underneath you and it’s hard to get height and power on your shot. If you strike the ball too late then you’ll get underneath the ball and it will be a lofted shot with no power on it. I think you just need more practice and repetitions. Here’s how I would do it. Take one shot towards the corners of the goal with the ball stopped at the top of the box. Then do the same thing, but rolling the ball out of your feet to the top of the box. If you have at least two balls this is better since there’s less time in between shots. Your goal is to emulate the same feeling you have with both shots. You want your moving shots to feel the same as your dead ball shots and this will help you get the same results. The more practice you have with this the more your timing will improve and your shots will become more consistent and accurate! I hope this helps😁👍🏼

@KreiderAcademy8 ай бұрын
If your technique is good and you’re getting consistent curve on your shots. Then you just need more reps and practice so that way you can figure out how much power you need to keep it from going over and where to aim. For example, if you keep putting your shots down the middle, then aim wider of the goal and it’ll go in the corner. If you keep putting it wide, then aim more towards the goal and it’ll be on target. Same for power. It just takes practice. If you keep blazing it over the bar, then take some power off it or lean over the ball more to keep your shot lower. I hope this helps🫶🏼🫶🏼

Our foot sizes differ alot. We can't strike with our laces as our foot hits the ground if we tried so. Can you make a tutorial on how to strike with laces depending on foot size
@KreiderAcademy8 ай бұрын
Hey mate try these two solutions out. I’d love to help but It’s difficult to know the cause of your problem without seeing you shooting. But here’s a couple of problems that may be causing it: 1. Contact with the ball is too low, causing your toes to hit the turf. If you hit a little higher then you’ll hit the sweet spot for power and height, but also not hitting the ground. 2. You’re too straight when striking the ball. If this is the problem then positioning your standing foot a couple of more inches to the side of the ball will cause your leg to be at more of an angle when striking the ball, making it so your toes don’t get caught on the ground. I’d say look at these two first for suggestions and if you’re still struggling after several days of practice then feel free to dm me a video on Instagram. I’m not very active on it right now but sometimes I look at it and I’ll help you out if I see it. I hope this helps🫶🏼
@Nathan-ho5dj7 ай бұрын
Are you supposed to touch the turf with your big toe when shooting with laces or is it better if it doesn't touch (Let's say you're barefooted)
@KreiderAcademy7 ай бұрын
@@Nathan-ho5dj No don’t want to touch the turf with your big toe when you shoot for a couple of reasons. Firstly, hitting the turf will take power out of your shot since some of your force is being sapped into the ground. You want all your force going into your shot and that occurs if you only make contact with the ball. Secondly, you are putting yourself at risk of injury. Doing this consistently may not cause a problem 90% of the time, but if you make poor contact with the ball one time and hit even lower on the ball, then a larger portion of your foot or toe will hit the ground. This makes it likely for you to get your foot caught or stuck in the turf and you can really damage the ligaments in your ankle by hyperextending it. I hope this helps🫶🏼

@@KreiderAcademycan you help me When I try to striker the ball it deosnt hit my laces it hits my toes what am I doing wrong I wana hit with my laces
@KreiderAcademy6 ай бұрын
@@rabiahmadi2989 There’s two potential problems that may be causing this, but I can’t say which one for sure without seeing your technique. The first problem is that you’re hitting to high on the ball. If you want to hit with your laces, then make sure laces are making contact with the middle of the ball. If you’re hitting too high on the ball then your toes will hit the ball first causing your shots to lack power. 2. The other problem and the more likely cause is that you’re not locking your ankle. You need to engage the muscles around your ankles and to keep your ankle locked. If you do not you keep your ankle locked, your toes come up as you’re shooting causing them to hit the ball first. A good way to test for these problems. If your shot will not get off the ground, you have the first problem. If your shot has height and lots of backspin, then you have the second problem. I hope this helps😁🫶🏼

can you show me how to pass the ball hard and accurate? When i see a option for a pass to my teammates and he is too far so i have to hit the ball hard with my inside area but sometime the ball is curved, bumble or inaccurate
@KreiderAcademy8 ай бұрын
I don’t have a video on that specifically, but I have two videos that I think will help you out. Check out “The Ultimate Guide to Passing in Football | Technique & Tips” And “Low Driven Pass Perfection | Technique Breakdown” How far is the distance you’re asking about? If it is 30+ yards/meters you might want to develop your low driven pass or grass cutter. It will travel faster making it less likely to be intercepted. However it is more challenging to pull off so it can be more risky. If you want to keep using the inside of your foot, I don’t think your mistakes is down to one technical issue. I cannot say for certain since I cannot see you pass, but I think it may get revolved with training and repetitions. One excellent way to work on this is set up two boxes 30 yards apart with a partner. Play a pass to your partner in the opposite square. They must control it in the box and pass back to you. Make this a game. If you play a bad pass to them you get a point. If they cannot control your pass in their square, they get a point. Then they pass to you. First to ten points loses. I hope this helps😁🫶🏼

Are you right footed? I’m going to assume so since you described it as dragging. It’s probably a mix of your follow through and where you’re making contact on the ball. For me I get so focused on trying to put it in that side panel that I end up hitting too far on the right side of the ball causing it to drag to the left. I think you need to assess your technique. I recommend going out to the field on your own and just practice shooting straight, right down the middle of the goal. Don’t even aim for the side panel for now. If your shots are straight and have power then you have good technique. If you have good technique, keep this up but now aim for the left side of the goal. Not the side panel, but a yard or two inside and see where your shots go. I found for myself that my shots pull left a bit more than I expect so when I aim a yard or two inside the post, my shots will hit the side panel. As opposed to aiming for the side panel and then they go wide. Try this out and let me know if this helps your problem!! If you can’t shoot it straight down the middle then you just need more repetitions to master your shooting technique. Please follow up and let me know if this trick works for you😁🫶🏼🫶🏼

@@KreiderAcademy Yes. I am right footed. I will definitely come back to let you know but generally I'm more consistent shooting central or slightly right and going for the left side of the goal. I am trying a new shooting practice routine to make sure I get better technique so hopefully that will help. I spend about 5 minutes with the ball pressed against a wall/bench doing half swings really feeling the hard part of my foot pressed against the middle of the ball. Then I go in to 5 minutes of follow through hops only. Finally I combine all together with shooting a stationary ball. I noticed one thing on your follow through though (example at 1:00 in your video). Your kicking foot lands at an ~ 90 ( if not more) degree angle to your target. Is this intentional and what is the significance of it?
@KreiderAcademy6 ай бұрын
@@georgemihaylov6888 Sounds good! Also, that's a really good observation! The angle of my kicking foot when landing is not intentional. I'm not purposely trying to land with my kicking foot pointing in that direction. It is the result of me putting all my momentum and power into the shot though. I guess that's how my body feels is best to land and maintain balance after shooting🤣 Regardless the direction your foot lands I don't think it impact your shot power or accuracy! Great question though!!

Great videos! However, we have to be really careful when telling youth players to shoot with their laces as the basic technique. It’s not exactly correct or useful. The laces actually take up a huge part of the foot. The spot you really want to use in the basic technique is the upper inside part of the laces where the hard bony part of the foot is. I have all my players identify and feel that part of their foot. It really seems to help.
@KreiderAcademy4 ай бұрын
Absolutely! I’m not sure if this was part of your point or not, but I do think it’s important to call it shooting with your laces since that is the terminology commonly used for it. But you’re 100% correct on the part of the foot!I tried to distinguish the hard bony part with a visual in this video but I didn’t outright say it. I’ll try to make sure to verbally say that too in future videos! Definitely important to get that small but important detail across! I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos😁🫶🏼

Why does the ball curve like a finesse shot when i use the across laced technique or the straight laced technique ? Or is it supposed to do that?
@KreiderAcademy5 ай бұрын
I mean it’s not supposed to. But sometimes you might want that curl on it, but it should be intentional. The curl could be caused by a couple of things. Firstly, you may be striking too far on the side of the ball. Striking the center of the ball will reduce the side spin on your shots. Secondly, your follow through may not be straight. If your leg is making a wrapping motion as you strike the ball, the ball will have curl on it. This goes for both the laced across body and laced straight techniques. So just to summarize and clarify… Strike straight through the center of the ball with a straight follow through. Striking the ball to either side or wrapping your leg around the ball will cause it to curl. The problem could be caused by just one of these things or both. Just try to be as intentional as possible when you shoot to strike it straight! Also don’t worry about it! It takes time and lots of practice. So be patient and work hard and you’ll get the technique down in time!! I hope this helps😁🫶🏼

I’d focus on mastering the laced shot (both across body and straight). As a center mid most of your shots are from outside the box, so these are the techniques you’ll use most often. That way you can get the power on the strikes to score from range! I hope this helps😁🫶🏼

When we hit the ball with laces our feet hit the ground 😐 solution plz
@KreiderAcademy8 ай бұрын
I’d love to help! It’s difficult to know the problem without seeing you shooting.

I am having problems with getting power on my shots. I uploaded the shots on my page, so can you give me any advice.
@KreiderAcademy6 ай бұрын
Hey I took a look at your shot! Here’s my thoughts. Firstly I think you have good technique with it overall. One thing that I noticed is on your follow through. You shot, your foot came down, then you jumped on your kicking foot. This is a fine place to be at the start because it helps you build the habit. However, to get the most power out of your shot you need to be almost jumping through the ball. Check out some of my laced shots. My momentum of my run up is causing to jump onto my kicking foot. Instead you’re standing over the ball and your leg comes down and around then you’re jumping. This just means that less of your momentum is going through the ball on your shot. The other thing may just be your age. You’re a young guy, just keep practicing it! The more practice and repetitions you do the more you’ll notice your power increase for two reasons. 1 your technique will improve from the practice 2 your leg muscles will get stronger with you using them! It’ll take time but you’ll get there for sure! Keep it up😁👍🏼

Do you possibly know how to fix my foot? I can’t figure out how to keep it locked. I keep hitting my toe. I would be grateful if you replied.
@KreiderAcademy7 ай бұрын
I learned to keep my ankle locked first by doing technical drills. I got tons of reps with a partner tossing me a ball and I would volley it back with my laces. The key is to make sure your ankle is locked while doing this. You have to be intentional about it. This will help you develop the habit of striking the ball with your ankle locked and it becomes muscle memory! I hope this helps🫶🏼🫶🏼

I cant lock my ankle any tips?
@KreiderAcademy2 ай бұрын
For sure! You need to focus on keeping that toe down throughout your shot. One great way to build the habit of locking your ankle is by doing this drill. Have a partner with the ball in their hands 3-5 yards from you. Have them toss the ball to your feet and you volley it back with your laces to their chest. Focus on keeping that toe down through your the entire rep. You know you’ve locked your ankle properly if the ball back to their hands has no back spin. If the ball back does have backspin, then your toe came up. The reason why this drill is great is because you can do 30-50 reps in one day whereas you can’t do that with shooting because you’ll get far more fatigued. It’ll help you build the habit that’ll carry over to your shooting. I hope this helps😁🫶🏼

Now to lose weight and get in shape!
@KreiderAcademy19 күн бұрын
Here's a great video for helping you get in shape. It's titled "The BEST Way to Get in Shape for Soccer" It is a full training session that is intense and gets most of the fitness work in with the ball so you're developing as a technical player too! For losing weight, I highly recommend doing research on it or reaching out to a healthcare professional. To lose weight you need to eat less calories than you expend throughout the day. The critical thing as an athlete is making sure you get LOTS of protein. It is important for rebuilding your muscles back after workouts. Carbohydrates are also critical for footballers since it is the main fuel source you use for energy when playing or training! I could write about this for hours, but this will help you get started at least! Keep it simple and do research or get help! I hope this helps😁🫶🏻
