As Asphalt 9 approaches it's 6th anniversary, I thought that it could be interesting to look backwards, at all the times Gameloft attempted to introduce something that ended up being a complete fail, and which they had to eventually get rid of, that's why, today, I'll be having a look at many things presented as 'exciting new features' on new Asphalt 9 updates patch notes, and that ended up being...well, a complete flop! Let's check' em out!

During 75k saga, GL reset negative tokens to zero later, giving abusers a huge advantage (true gains were realised). Some GL missed and they didn't even get reset and kept all their tokens, hundreds of thousands of them. Glitches like maxing Sesto for 10% cost also gave abusers an unfair advantage, and they didnt get reset. Making mistakes is not the issue. Resolving it in a grossly unfair way is

I remember that I stopped playing asphalt 8 because my credits were in negative but not just a small it was up to -5.5 million I think I didn't make any purchase at all I just logged in and my credits were in negative

As a switch player, our favourite moment was the 44000 P1 bps. Basically, the time was set to beat 44s during the 1 billion event but Joe set it as 44000bps instead of 44s so people got over 2 million tc for a brief period. It got patched, i got debt for it but it was fixed up. The worst switch event has to be the Rimac Nevera's SE. The syndicate was made wayyy too difficult for players, giving only 13 SC for early stages which is hard to progress with so paying was the only way out 😢

@@CarsOnGaming in contrast, our evija was slightly easier, giving packs at 39/55 bps but the switch experiences wayyy more exclusive events for cars i.e Tushek, F5, LVN etc. I think documenting them could make for a good video

However Miura Concept Looper Prix had a very shortened stream flow compared to AF8 FE. (1.5m -> 0.8m.) It got ridiculed so fast to the point Looper Prix ceased to only TLE. 🙄

Looper Prix: There was actually a second looper prix, for the Miura during Raging Bull season. It was pretty terrible since the Miura has low nitro capacity. Somehow I still managed to get the key. Personally, I don't think the Looper Prix was a terrible idea - although I think GP in general is flawed so Looper Prix added to doesn't make it much worse 🤣 (Reason I think it's flawed is that skill is not the defining factor, strategy is and if that fails tokens are 😊) Road Test: the event itself wasn't necessarily bad, but how it was executed. You could only get 9 bps for free per occurence. Having a stripped down version of Unleashed for FFZero1 was better. The reason Road Test was removed wasn't because it was bad (they don't care), but because there was an exploit (making it possible to replay with upgraded loaned car or something). Raging Bull(shit): this was by far the worst/most P2W season. I got the first tier bundle and spend a bazillion of tokens to get the Countach key... painful. Didn't even get a SC20 key (still the only missing Lambo in my collection) I want to add one "good" mistake, like the 75k/600k tokens: during I think the New Tech update (Oct/Nov 2023) there were season tokens packs for the Sesto Elemento, but they costed 100 ST instead of the intended 1000 ST. So it was really cheap to max out the Sesto. It took about an hour for GL to realize it, but fortunately I was able to max it out in time. Has proven to be useful in later events 😊. PS: I'm expecting the release of Unite to be accompanied with some bugs. They already do that with normal releases, so with a big release and the poor testing at GL, we're in for some laughs (hopefully...)

Bundles never had to be bought for irl money. You may wonder why. But the game called crew 2 which’s i have been playing before a9 had a special event called the summit (basically a grand prix but you’re competing with all players) had restrictions of certain cars to be owned to play the event. Some people might own it others could buy it from the store for FREE by grinding bucks which is pretty easy to grind you will be able to buy a bundle just from grinding.

But Asphalt 9 is the way it is, and TC2 is the way it is, you can't expect a 5 years old game to change just because other game you used to play was that way. It is what it is

For example a person who has money can get any car without too much of a problem but another guy who hasn’t spent money can’t get the car unless they save up for years. But in TC2 you can either grind resources which are way less grindy than a car hunt or pay to buy the car of your desire Another thing is that a player gets almost 2500 tokens for free in one month but you can’t get a car maxed or even unlocked but in other games in 1 month you will have a nice garage even if you haven’t spent any money

Infection mode would of been better if they did managed to make it like A8. I’m not familiar with that version, but I did had fun playing Forza Horizon 1-2’s infected mode, which to me has more fun. Looper Prix was good on paper, but I still would like to see the opponents ghost and my ghost in GP. Setting your ghost can also be beneficial for any other daily events to see how you can improve your driving lines. I’m not going to say anything about Road Test, since I hated how unfair you needed Faraday to approve you to upgrade and get the main car. Yes, I did unlock the Faraday, but the bad impact it had would take a long time to get its rep back. One thing I’ll say is when DS2 was released on Switch, the main required cars were paywalled, it was completely useless spending time on it, because it wasn’t like the worldwide version where you can get all of the cars by grinding. That event was probably the beginning goal for Gameloft to try to kill off a platform and the layout for an instant retirement from my side.

How about these buffoons who call themselves "devs" correct the ultra-extremely grindy Showroom? I just managed to "max-out" my Aston Martin V12 Speedster but only after the 4th time I've had a crack at it because the BP drop rates are so fn greedy and I do not always have the time in the world to complete 902 conditions in 7 days. I put the word max-out in quotes because I still technically need 1 more Epic Import Part to truly max it out (or gold it as some might say), and during the event these were on sale in the Shop for 2x at $10. I am NOT spending that amount when I need just one with the rest just going to be converted to red tokens, no fn thanks! Whether it may happen or not, I will just wait for it when it becomes available in the Shop, not holding my breath though.

Asphalt 9 have all kinds of faults, because no matter how I play this game I can't enjoy it, and no matter how I win or lose, I don't like the fix iconic gameplay, it time to stop picking up nitro and let nitro build up like in racing legends, which play far better than Asphalt 9, the only A9 have over RL is more cars, features and updates, but the gameplay control is shit, too many unnecessary crashes, sliding off roads, too many unnecessary different ways on one road that lead to losing and crashes, sometimes when people nitro the cars pick their own way missed the road and crash, sliding off roads, or take a different direction, this is why I can't rate this as good, I say what I see, I'm not bias or show favoritism because of pretty and lots of cars, I like good control and game, and A9 don't have that.

@@CarsOnGaming The reason why I'm still playing it, it's because i like racing against more than one persons the same time, and i like some of the feathers, but the 2D fixed control gameplay, the developers should be know better, i have lots of friends who doesn't play it because of that, I'm the only one, and I'm saying what i see wrong with the I'm not bias or favoritism, even the developers know that I'm right, And listen if people like us don't say what is wrong with games, there will be no improvement, the developers would make anything and take our money, so we must speak up on faults in any game, whether it's Gran Turismo, Ridge Racer, Need for Speed, Burnout , Midnight Club, Test Drive anyone of them we must speak out. I play all kinds of games, from actions, horrors, fighting, sports, puzzles, racing, I'm playing more racing games today because I'm still good at those that i mentioned, but know A9 control gameplay could've been better for sure.

When you buy a bundle like the 75K Tokens one you had an official offer in the store, spend on it and therefore had a contract. They simply couldn‘t remove it. If someone would have sued them for the removal they would have lost.

nitro pollution couldve been so much more... maybe KDing uninfected racers could restore some nitro space, or collecting 'cure' nitro., or even having requirements to clear the infection such as collecting x number of clean nitro.... I really wish they experimented with it more instead of just scrapping it. Also correct me if I'm wrong but i think the miura was a LP as well?

You skipped the original Cash Packs for the Tushek T900...😅 Worst thing I'd ever seen and with this update they've done the same thing with the 3 GP bonus Token Relay offers that used to be 750 Tokens each. 😒 Best to just keep saving Tokens until the end of the year for the Christmas Burst of Speed. There's nothing worthwhile to spend Tokens on anymore except (thank God) for ticket refills for Special Hunt Cars. Everything else is just a distraction to waste your Tokens (or Money buying Tokens). 🙎
