The Chargers are also a QB factory. Dan Fouts, Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers and Justin Herbert are all super stars, and there's only been a few occasional slip ups like Ryan Leaf.
@andrewbird579 сағат бұрын
The Chargers have a better QB history than the Eagles certainly. John Hadl in the '60s in the AFL years, Fouts, who along with Don Coryell turned the NFL into the passing league it is today, Humphries, who got the Bolts to their lone SB, Brees, Rivers, Herbert. Funny that this guy would associated Rivers with the Colts but not the Bolts. Starting in 2004, Drew Brees' breakout season, the Chargers have been QB'd by a Pro Bowl caliber QB every season: Brees-Rivers-Herbert.

Lol why are the Bears who have had historically terrible QB play excluded due to Caleb Williams but Broncos aren't? Bo Nix and Caleb Williams have almost identical passing stats and Bo has more rushing yds TDs and less fumbles. Not saying he's gonna be better than Caleb through their careers but he's not worse rn. Plus the Broncos have had two HOF quarterbacks that led them to Super Bowl wins. Bears famously have not had a QB throw over 4,000yds in a season, Broncos have 6 times once with Jay Cutler before he went to the Bears!! Weird list.

The Bears are excluded but the Broncos are a “graveyard”. Nix has looked just as good as Williams with a worse roster, and the Bears have had historically awful QBs. Meanwhile, the Broncos have had two HOFs, almost got to a SB with Jake Plummer, and got a playoff win out of Tim freaking Tebow. @ryanyeager325810 сағат бұрын
And the icing to the cake for the Cleveland Browns quarterback graveyard. The one year, they decided not to draft a quarterback. Is the year that haunts them the most. The Cleveland Browns' first pick the 6th overall in the 2004 NFL Draft was Kellen Winslow II, a tight end from the University of Miami. Just five picks later. They're the most hated rival. The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted with the 11th overall pick Big Ben Roethlisberger. He will be there quarterback for the next eighteen seasons and have a record of 166-82-1 with two Super Bowls wins in his career. He will also go 26-2-1 versus the Browns in his career. So the one year cleveland didn't go after a quarterback was the year they really should have.

I wouldn't really consider Jacksonville a QB graveyard. They've has a horrible stretch in the 2010s, sure. But like you said, Leftwich and especially Brunell and Garrard were all serviceable to elite level QB talent. Brunell is arguably the most slept on QB of the Y2K era and would definitely fit at home in today's league. And speaking of today's league, Trevor Lawrence is playing like a top 10 QB in every metric except completion percentage despite the Jaguars being 2-6 (10th in yards, tied for 10th in TD's with CJ Stroud and Kyler Murray, and tied for 8th least INT's with Stroud, Goff, and Hurts). You can do a lot worse than their QB history. If you want an actual QB graveyard, there's the Bears.

Oh yeah what a graveyard the Broncos are. Craig Morton revitalized his career. Elway became a legend. Griese and Plummer always kept them in contention or in the playoffs they even managed to be the only team Tebow had success with. Do we even need to mention Manning having some of his best years in Denver? Sure the last 8 years have been rocky to say the least but a lot of that was due to terrible coaching. Nix certainly seems like the real deal so far with Payton at the helm and can you remind me the legends your “QB factory” Colts had between Bett Jones and Peyton Manning from 1982 and 1997? Or the unmentioned Bears and Bengals have had between McMahon and Caleb Williams? or Esiason and Dalton respectively? Just more recency bias by TPS. 👎
