My first two guitar pedals were the Boss OD-1X and DS-1, which have always been my go-to pedals for getting a heavier sound and I still love using them to this day

And to think that in 1983 the salesman at my local music store told me not to bother with the tube screamer. This was just a couple months before Stevie Ray Vaughn released Texas Flood.

Perfect way to do it. I found out I'm not an effects guy, but that's why you dabble with those multi effects. People seem to look down on them but they serve a purpose.

The darkglass alpha omega, although more considered a preamp, is easily one of the best ODs ever made, especially for bass but even for guitar. Also love my gojirafx tube screamer clone that looks like Mr. Sparkle

My first overdrive pedal was an Ibanez TS-10 Tube Screamer. Great tone, but super fragile. The gain knob broke, so it was beyond maxed out, which was actually pretty cool. Unfortunately, it just quit functioning all together one day, so I pitched it. Nowadays, I use either a Behringer Vintage Tube Monster or a Mosky Silver Horse klone, which both sound great.

The TS-9 is just incredible/ Of course I'm using this as a Boost/But the way it interacts w/ different Amps is mindblowing/ Unless I'm plugging straight into my Amp/ I can leave her on with my Orange n the way it interacts w/ the distortion is just fuckin glorious/ On the otherhand w/ my ENGL it really acts like an EQ n just levels it everything perfectly. Right now I'm in serious Love w/ Earthquaker-The Plumes is another excellent take on the TS-9 but gives you a variety of different tones .

Isn't the Klon an overdrive pedal? Seems like it should be mentioned b/c 1) many tout how great it is and how much of a game changer it was, 2) how crazy the used pedal market on Reverb has become (which is partly due to the Klon)
