I love the commentary on a move that looks like an ambidextrous version of telling yourself to go pound sand. The angsty star steals the attention from how slow that other hand has to go. A beguiling difference when practicing. Not to be snooty because I too am over here grinding on patterns I find difficult, what's your honest take on working both sides (or all timing and directions) of the harder tricks? Is it worth it? Are they things you actually finding yourself spinning during a typical flow session? Short of deliberately drilling them.

Did u end up learning them in all timing and directions? I would think if you tried to, that then the moves would become more muscle memory with the extra efforts

So this was a year ago. I've drilled quite a bit since that comment. I do generally find the balance of sides to be more important for me (your experience may vary.) I will smooth out a new pattern by doing Nick W's advice of finding the shortest symmetrical loops allowing for both sides to trace/follow/run [depending] the steps of the pattern. Base skills are hared. These 5 tricks are harder because they don't share much in the way of base skills as weaves, etc... so while yes I do find they are accessible when I'm flowing, all this practice has sort of led me down a different spinning style. And yes, muscle memory is where we're going with these.

What trick is the fast hand doing in 0:34? I just taught myself to do that bilaterally in split time, no tutorials and I suck at poi! I only knew 3 basic tricks!
