@@Rigiroony Yeah, the thing with the star wars fandom is that we're so engaged with the content that when we see something not immediately to our liking, we blow up. That didn't happen with the Clone Wars because only kids watched that. Jared Carcamo ya but the point os that ashoka and anakin's relationship was built up in the clone wars and then she left the jedi order and that broke his heart, ashoka would see anakin one more time before he turns into darth vader, but ashoka doesn't know vader is anakin. There is a big... irony if you like with Ezra's sacrafice. I'm kinda reminded of the pilot episode when Hera urged him to go into the ship (in order to warn the Ghost crew). Hera (and Kanan of course) shaped him so much that in the end she urges him not to go into the ship and not to make the sacrafice necessary. One cannot understate of course the fact that Ezra is everything Hera had left of Kanan. Ezra is a reflection of Kanan's personality, especially as a Jedi. So it's rather natural that she's rejecting the slightest of thought to send him up to Thrawn even though Ezra knew right away facing Thrawn was the only way. Another aspect is Sabine's lack of faith. The same story: she doubts Ezra's abilities, letting him know every step of the way during season one. So when Hera was incapable to send Ezra away she did, with all the confidence necessary and (perhaps more ironic) without a single word. It should be mentioned though that she did this in the faith that he was coming back. Those are a few thoughts from me. You could double this list easily with great moments like from the World between Worlds, Ezra's confrontation with the Grand Inquisitor, AP-5's musical performance or Kanan being knighted.

@TheMedievalman94 жыл бұрын
Oh, man. So many scenes could be added. A surprisingly large amount of scenes, for a show that was supposedly "just a kids' show." My own top five list: 5. The final scene of "Twin Suns." We've been visiting an old friend in Obi-wan, saw as he and Maul finally resolved their decades long feud, and now we see Obi-wan wandering alone in the desert. But where does he go? To the Lars Homestead. And there we hear Beru call, "Luke!" And we see, far in the distance, a barely discernible Luke, running for home, as "Binary Sunset" plays us into the end credits. 4. The Kiss. Oh, yeah. All capitals on that. It was obvious that Kanan and Hera were in love. It wasn't exactly something they kept hidden, from the Ghost crew, or from us. And everytime it looked like they were finally going to show it, something always interrupted them. So, it was a "Big Goofy Grin While Saying 'Awww'" moment when Hera decided to shut Kanan up by giving him a big one, just before she left to get help from the Rebellion. 3. "Shroud of Darkness." Ahsoka is waiting for Kanan and Ezra to arrive, and to pass the time, she watches an old holocron of Anakin. The entire scene was a kick in the feels, because we know what happened to Anakin, but it's reinforced when Ahsoka tells Ezra, "What surprised people was how kind he was." And we watch as she gets sadder and sadder. What's even worse about this scene is not just that we as the audience know what became of Anakin, but we as the audience come to realise that Anakin is teaching a group of younglings and Padawans that will, in just a year or two of that recording, be dead by his hand. 2. The Look. Probably my favourite scene in the entire Rebels finale. Hera has forbidden Ezra from surrendering himself to Thrall, so he tricks her into looking for another way as a means to distract her. But before he goes, he looks at Sabine - and her face clearly shows the heartbreak she's experiencing as she knows he's right, and that she has to help him. It's an act of selflessness that would shame most Jedi. And the best part? She realises right from the time he made his decision, prior to Hera's attempts to stop him, that nothing was going to stop him, and we see her face grow sadder and sadder as she realises that she not only can't stop him, she won't stop him. 1. Ezra's rescue of Ahsoka. The one surprise about this is that it almost lost out to The Look. What put this scene over the top, however, was the reaction of every fan when Ezra physically pulled her into the World Between Worlds. I watched as gruff, grown men, who had openly expressed their hatred of this character when she was first introduced, openly weeping when they realised that she survived, and would be able to appear again in the future. We thought we were finally going to find out what happened to her during that fight. Boy howdy, did we ever.

I agree with every one of those choices. If I may, I’d like to add an “Honorable Mention” of sorts. In Season 1, Ezra and Kannan came across some dark creatures on an asteroid mining/shipping facility. They later returned to that place to try and trap the Inquisitor. It worked for a while, but they started to get overpowered by the Inquisitor. Eventually, it came down to Him and Ezra. The Inquisitor started telling Ezra all the bad things that were about to happen, and Ezra was finally pushed too far. Rocks started rising, his eyes beamed, and his hair spiked. The inquisitor halted with a concerned look on his face as Ezra raised his hands ever so slightly. The music suddenly stops, and this giant dark creature comes up from the crevice behind him. Ezra lowers his arms, and the Inquisitor sees that Ezra is in full control of what is surely happening....Ezra’s fear has taken over, and he has dived headfirst into The Dark Side. Ezra thrusts his hand forward, commanding the creature to attack, which it does, but Ezra loses consciousness from the strain. At some point during this, you can hear Kannan say: “Ezra....nooooo!”. Kannan knew what was happening, but Ezra didn’t. I love this scene because it is Ezra’s first taste of The Dark Side and how powerful it is. Ezra wakes up and asks Kannan what was happening and that he “feels so cold”, signifying the unnaturalness of The Dark Side. Kannan tried to comfort him, carries him back to ship, and they fly away.

Kanan's honesty in that moment, when he apologizes to Ezra, was incredible. Probably my fave part of that episode, though, is at the very end. Ezra goes into the nose gun turret to be alone. Interesting thought: Ezra, Thrawn, and the Imperial crew of that ISD could make a good movie or TV show in the future. Maybe they jump to a hostile alien world similar to Felucia, their FTL is fried, and the ISD gets stuck on the alien planet. Then, Thrawn, Ezra, and the Imperial crew are forced to survive with one another until some sort of rescue occurs. Eventually Sabine and Ashoka may find them, after the war is over.

Twilight of the Apprentice will always be number 1 for me, especially after these final Clone Wars episodes. Ahsoka finally finding out what happened to Anakin, who was like a father to her after 16 years of not knowing and just presuming he’s dead. And then proceeding to fight each other to the death right after is probably the most bittersweet and sad thing in all of StarWars. It gets me emotional every time I watch it. I’m glad Ahsoka survived though. Kanan’s death is a close second for me. This show is SO underrated. I really don’t get the hate for it like I do the sequel trilogy which I also don’t like.

Alternate timeline to Kanan's death: Pryce: Target that fuel pod. NOW! Trooper: But sir, the fuel. Pryce: DID YOU JUST ASSUME MY GENDER?!?!? End of Story, Kanan Lives and Thrawn's defender project wins over Stardust and there would've been no Battle of Scarif and no Battle of Yavin!
@oyblech86714 жыл бұрын
there are a few things I've been asking myself ever since I've seen ezre's last scene... first of all, how could he possibly have survived? I mean an open cockpit in space basically just means death, it always did in star wars (with the exception of having a helmet, being master plo, or it just lasting a few seconds). add hyperspace to that and, as I understand it, they should've been fucked beyond recognition. secondly, I don't really see why ezra couldn't have jumped off the ship in the last moment, what was he force holding exactly? because the space craken seemed to have thawn under control. the door behind him, okay, but the only use that has is to keep the troopers from closing in on him. the vacuum of space during a lightspeed jump? that would be one hell of a feat and would break the established power crawl completely, wouldn't it? the emotional impact and the meaning for ezra's character arc is undeniable and very impactful but the fact that I have so many questions that seem completely answerless takes it off the first place for me. I hope someone here can fix that because it's been bugging me beyond belief for a while now...

Oy Blech I’ve always thought that Ezra was holding the oxygen in place as they jumped, based on the glass floating around him. I feel like it’s a similar situation to season 1 when he summons the momma fyrnock to attack he grand inquisitor. There, pebbles started floating around him similarly to how the glass did in the finale. He connected deeply with the force, but this time using the light instead of the dark. After all kanan was able to hold back an explosion caused by a highly explosive chemical meeting a laser blast long enough to get the rest of the crew out of there so I don’t think it’s too hard to believe that the force would lend its strength to Ezra to help him achieve the goal, especially if it was the will of the force all along. If you don’t think that’s possible there’s also the possibility he was going to activate the shield that most ships have when the hull is compromised. This is just my humble opinion please take it as you will Also, in Ezra’s final message to the crew just before the epilogue, Ezra also mentions that he had several paths in front of him and that this was the one he had to take. He didn’t want to have to leave his family but he surrendered himself to the will of the force for the greater good. I agree, he probably could have escaped at the last moment if he’d wanted to, but he chose to stay because it was what the galaxy needed. And in my opinion that is the fulfillment of four seasons of character growth, going from a lothrat with walls tougher than steel built around his heart to prevent it from getting hurt to being willing to lose his second family just after rejecting the chance to be with his first one. Hope this answered some of your questions or at the least gave you something new to think about!

Ezra created a Force bubble around the bridge (floating glass) just before they jumped. Ezra didn't leave the ship because the Force showed him something earlier on. ("There were seveal paths in front of me, although this one wasn't the one I wanted, it was the one I had to take. That's something Kanan taught me") Ezra knew that he (and very likely Thrawn) were needed elsewhere, and because of that knew he had to see this through to the end.

i hear you... still I can't help but feel like that's massively blowing the force and power out of proportion. where and how did he get the power to do that? "it's the will of the force" sounds a bit too convenient for my liking, that's basically saying "the plot needed it, don't ask questions.", it's the equivalent of the "god works in mysterious ways" argument used to tie people that have doubts back into the religious doctrine and it felt contrived af... if this is a thing now, why would we ever worry about a force sensitive anymore? if it's the will of the force that they should survive, they'll pull new powers out of their arse if need be, if not, well it was the will of the force to have them die. it may have been the shield theory, but then again, wouldn't that cut off the space squids' tentacles? and why would he have his arms stretched out like this and not just force push the button in an instant? and if he did and thrawn was released again, he'd be in quite the situation: shot in the shoulder, without a lightsabre, thrawn in front of him, storm troopers closing in from the back. I've thought abou these situations (, I like to think I've thought them through) and just for the life of me can't wrap my head around any of them... yes, kanan could hold back the explosion. just for a few seconds, maybe a minute tops though. while you could argue that the vaccum of space isn't quite as strong as an explosion at point blank range, hyperspace travel takes quite a long time long time (and the fact that sabine hasn't found him until after the war tells me that he's travelled quite a bit), like, in a new hope luke was able to begin his training and even make advancements while travelling, I just don't find it convincing that ezra would spontaneously have the concentration and sheer power with the force to hold back the vacuum of space, much less hyperspace for hours. if what you say is actually the explanation they'll go with, this scene ruins the power crawl for emotional impact and cheapens it massively - for me at least. when I first saw it, I had a feeling it was constructed backwards. they needed ezra to "sacrifice" himself to complete his character arc (the principle of which is pretty much perfect, as mentioned: it sums up 4 seasons of development) but somehow ended up with a situation in which that made no sense so they went with "it's the will of the force" and even had to give him a massive unexplained buff in the force to have him survive for "some reason". the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that's more or less the case... also, if it were "for the good of the galaxy", filoni will have to come up with one hell of a story to justify ezra not helping the rebels defeat the empire. I appreciate your thoughts and the fact that you've taken time out of your day to speculate with me. have a nice one and stay safe!

Oy Blech you have made very good points and I’m enjoying having a rational conversation about this with someone I disagree with! Also I came up with another theory for the scene: I don’t thing having the shields up would cut through the purgills tentacles, depending on the shield we’ve seen things walk through them before so that might be the case here. And rather than holding the oxygen in place ezra might just be communicating with the purgill. This actually ties in with my theory about the whole floating rocks/floating glass thing. Ezra establishes a strong connection with the purrgil in season 2 so maybe here he’s connecting with them and the force to find out where to go and how to get there while also keeping thrawn in place. Guiding ships through hyperspace is an established force power after all, and one used by the chiss. Just a humble theory cause you’re making me think about this in lots of different new ways and I like it!!!!!

@@jessicaroskelley6147 I can only agree, it's great to disagree (although not really "disagree", I mean we both don't really know these things for certain, and, tbh, I really want this to make sense because I enjoyed the show quite a bit up until this point and I want my boy ezra to make sense and not be the victim of plot convenience) and discuss these things without being called an incel, manbaby, snowflake&commie/racist&sexist (entirely depending on the other person's political views) and whatever else! idk what happened to big parts of the fandom and why they stopped picking things apart together from different points of view without insulting each other... on to the point though, shall we?rey shields usually allow things to pass through them, true, that may explain it, good point! I don't remember the emergency shields being energy ones though, I think they're just metal sidings (I could well be wrong, just thinking about it, the only time I can remember the cockpit of a larger ship being this compromised was in rots when grievous broke the glass to escape, it was shut completely close by all metal barriers; that was a separatist ship so idk about star destroyers). I really hope there are examples of emergency rey shields for star destroyer cockpits that I just couldn't think of. I had a look at wookieepedia to see what they have to say about I-class destroyers but it doesn't mention emergency cockpit shields, neither under "armament and shielding", nor under "bridge tower"... the communicating with the purgill (sorry for calling them space squids earlier, I wrote it on mobile and didn't want to close youtube to look it up) part makes a whole lot of sense and is visually very consistent! to be honest I think ezra wouldn't even have to guide the ship through hyperspace, he could just communicate with the purgill and tell them where to head, I think as hyperspace travelling space squids they'd probably have a pretty good idea of how to get where. I think you're one of 3 people with which I've had a pleasant and interesting online discussion about star wars in quite some years, this is really enjoyable ^^

@@elijahlee3610 well pick your pick. theres empirial supercommandos when sabine grabs him and takes off, then at the end when they embrace after they are in safety. theres them training together in trials of the darksaber, theres ezra giving her his saber agaisnt saxon. theres them mildly flirting while fighting together on mandalore then theres the... entirety of season 4 basically filled with touches glances smiles hand holding embracing and generally being insperable and incredibly warm with each other. the last episode they are incredibly warm, they have that silent moment before he sacrifices himself, she begs him to leave the star destroyer and then finally the fact that she staying in his home, made it her house for 6 years and then goes into the unknown to find him

I would say the moment between Ahsoka and Vader AKA Anakin would be the most emotional scene of all. The reason why is because Ahsoka is now seeing such a loved one and great mentoring friend now turned into the darkest and most evil thing the galaxy has ever seen who slays all before him. I Can Only Imagine the total disbelief going through ahsoka's head during this moment such a sad moment it really was.

I’d say the only time I felt emotion in the show was when Kanan died (because he was one of the few good new characters) and when Ahsoka “died” because at the time, how would she survive Vader or the explosion? I guess I felt joy when the show ended because I could care less about it after Kanans death. Also, the death of commander Gregor was unceremonious and his sacrifice didn’t make much sense but what should I expect from this show?

I have to disagree with your #1 choice. But not by a lot. That look between Ezra and Sabine, right before he left hit harder. Harder even than Kanen's death. Probably because it was right on the heels of Kanen only about 90 minutes earlier (when binging). The scene you chose was just the fulfillment of what was realized when they shared that look.

Yes, Rebels was just a kid show. Not. Rebels has enhanced so much of the Star War Universe. It was canonized in the Rise of Skywalker and has influenced not only the last season of Clone Wars but also the Mandalorian. This series has helped shave off some of the ugly burrs of not only the prequel movies, but also the sequels. All respect to Dave Feloni.
