The 5 MOST IMPORTANT tips for Genshin Impact combat

As a player who has consistently 36-starred the abyss for over 2 years now, I have my own tips to give: 1. In the second half of the chamber, if you are in the brink of clearing the half and if you have remaining time. Let's say 10-20 seconds of excess time, try to funnel as much energy as you can to your team before killing the last enemy. This allows you to start the next chamber with full or almost full energy. You can also do this in the first half too if you're confident that you'll have enough time in the second half. 2. When using Bennett, there is actually a delay in the time when you use the burst and when the buff actually takes effect. It is applied in the same interval as his heals. You might wanna keep this in mind when screenshotting, as you might end up not being able to screenshot the buff if you do it too early. Although for Xiangling, she screenshots at the end of her burst animation, so it's fine to do her burst immediately after Bennett's. 3. You can actually use different teams to clear different chambers. If a certain team works on one chamber, and not on the next, you can 3-star that chamber, abandon the run and switch your teams around to work on the next chamber. This is possible because once you 3-star a chamber, it will stay that way even if you don't 3-star it in your next run. This will naturally take a lot of time, but it is effective if you really want to clear the abyss. 4. When using Kazuha, you don't wanna always use his hold skill. If you have the enemies relatively close to each other already, you can just use the press skill variety to do a quick CC and swirl, leaving you with less skill cooldown. (You have to keep in mind double swirling as Kazuha's hold E actually applies 2 units of anemo as opposed to 1 for press E.) 5. The most important tip of all: learn when to give up. Do not stress yourself, if you really can't clear the abyss no matter how hard you try, it's okay to just throw in the towel. You have many more opportunities to improve in the future. That extra 50-100 primos is not worth the mental anguish.

Well said. Especially for #5. I can clear the Abyss, but I don't find Abyss 12 very fun and I've never gotten more than like 1* in Floor 12. So, for me, I just give floor 12 a few tries, and if it's not happening, I walk away. I'm fine with 27* and I don't care to stress out over a video game. FYI - I don't really farm artefacts but everyone gets 1 5* level 20 artefacts, everyone gets a level 90 weapon and is at level 90 with level 8 talents. That's my ceiling for investment for all my characters and I frankly don't care to do more because it's more fun to try more characters than to just vertically invest in like 8-16 META characters because that's boring for me.

I actually agree with the 5th. I have been 33 starring all abyss 12 since I started doing abyss. I only once cleared it full when ayaka was out and the wenut was there in the abyss. Didn't feel like much getting the 36. So now it's either in one try with the same thing or nothing.

Freeze is a complicated mechanic but I will try to explain it the best i can: - Freeze is an "aura". You can react with it and it acts like a Cryo aura. - Freeze is actually one of the auras that can coexist with other elements. Like Burning, Electro-charged and Quicken, the Freeze aura is able to coexist with either a Hydro aura or a Cryo aura. - When you use Sucrose or Anemo MC abilities (1U - weak) on a Frozen enemy, there is a possibility that you DON'T swirl Cryo and only swirl Hydro. I'll explain this below but this would only happen if you apply a lot of Hydro and usually freeze teams have more Cryo. In a freeze team, an enemy can have the Freeze aura and no other aura, Freeze aura and Cryo aura, or Freeze aura and Hydro aura. *The issue with swirling in a freeze team is that the swirl reaction priority list prioritizes Cryo and Hydro auras BEFORE the Freeze aura.* That means if you have a 1U (weak) Anemo, it is possible to swirl Hydro and not swirl Cryo on a Frozen enemy. Another issue is that Cryo and Hydro can't coexist. Meaning if a Freeze aura exists and it's coexisting with a Cryo aura, then you can never double swirl because the enemy has no Hydro aura. You need to apply enough Hydro to remove the Cryo aura and replace it with a Hydro aura that sits alongside the Freeze aura. Usually to get a Hydro aura alongside the Freeze aura, Hydro needs to be applied first or be stronger like 2U. I'm not sure how consistently that works. - For a character that doesn't apply 2U (strong) anemo like Sucrose and Anemo MC, you don't want to double swirl, I think it's best to forget about it it's too risky. You also want a lot of Cryo to make sure the Hydro aura is not coexisting with Freeze aura because then you run the possibility of only swirling Hydro and not swirling Cryo. If you use Kazuha's hold skill which is 2U, then regardless of whether Freeze is coexisting with Hydro or Cryo, you will always apply enough Anemo to react with both auras. Which means you always react with the Freeze aura -> you get a Cryo swirl guaranteed. *In summary:* - Freeze aura + no other auras -> Any anemo gets a Cryo swirl (Freeze aura got swirled) - Freeze aura + Cryo aura -> Any anemo gets a Cryo swirl (Cryo aura got swirled if 1U - Cryo and Freeze aura both got swirled if 2U) - Freeze aura + Hydro aura -> Only anemos with 2U abilities like Venti E, Kazuha hold E, Heizou E, Jean E will get a guaranteed Cryo and a Hydro swirl. Other anemo units MIGHT only get a Hydro swirl. If the Hydro aura is sufficiently depleted, they can get a double swirl. Edit: I made a mistake by calling the Freeze aura a "Frozen aura". I fixed it. Frozen aura is actually the permanent aura some enemies have like Cryo Abyss Mage's shield. Edit2: I made a mistake thinking Venti applied 1U. If you want to know which Anemo supports apply 2U here you go: Venti E, Kazuha Hold E / Burst's initial slash, Heizou E, Jean E/Q. Rest are 1U.

Oooh. So this is why my Ayaka team went bananas as soon as I managed to pull Kazuha. I always thought it was because I got lucky and had gotten Shenhe a couple banners before while fishing for Diona's constellations (don't judge me). I commend this all, very well explained, very insightful comment, but basically just watch Zajef77's tutorial on swirls for Kazuha. And yes, that's the reason why as an f2p player I'm gonna pull Kazuha for my Ayaka team even though Sucrose is awesome: I can easily set up the Cryo VV shred swirl with Sucrose on an Ayaka, Kokomi, Diona, Sucrose team but on the other hand on a Furina Freeze team - where her pets are having permanent Hydro application uptime (and since there's Pyro > Hydro > Electro > Cryo swirl priority on most Anemo units ) - Kazuha is basically mandatory so you can use his hold skill in order to double swirl to VV shred both Cryo and Hydro, which will result in a major DPS increase both for Ayaka and Furina.

7:49 Abyss mages like to teleport in front of you. If there's not enough room there, they won't teleport. So to lure them to the wall, you need to run to that wall, then turn around to face them. Or stop far enough from the wall so they have room to teleport to. Apart of that, awesome video. Genshin's combat is so deceptive, simple at first sight but so complicated as soon as you look under the hood. Having good rules of thumb definitely helps a lot.

This. Enemy AI manipulation could have a video of it's own, as there are quite a few "less known" patterns and behaviors that player may use to their advantage - There are some well documented ones in a list called *"Enemy Interactions"* on the *KQM Library,* listing stuff like how to keep Rifthounds and Mirror Maidens CC'd by vertical knockback (with Jean or Klee's CA, Sucrose or Kazuha's E, Diluc's Q, Bennet's E 2nd Hold version...), but even that one doesn't say anything about how to force Abyss Mages to teleport (like you said, by getting far enough while keeping enough room for 'em in front of the character) or big Slimes to jump (by facing away from 'em while nearby)... it's the type of knowledge that comes so naturally to some players that they take it for granted and don't even share.

There's one kinda-obscure trip I can share that's helped me a lot: if you're playing melee characters who have a tendency to push enemies slightly away from you, in AOE combat you can position your character in a way that you're pushing enemies towards another enemy, rather than pushing them away from each other and losing crowd control in the process. ofc this applies only to enemies that can be crowd-controlled

14:09 to do double swirl cryo-pyro. apply cryo on the enemy, then do a bennett burst away from the enemy, do not let his burst hit the enemy so that the cryo won't be removed. Bennett's burst applies pyro to the character. Now you can double swirl the cryo on enemy and pyro on your character with kazuha.

C6 give the melee characters within the burst's duration an "infused" effect wich convert the physical damage of their normal attacks into an element. For C6 Bennett this is Pyro. Do NOT unlock C6 for Bennett it restrict his combo with others character for elemental reactions. Imagine giving it in an electro-charge team with, let's say, Ayato/Fischl. You'd burst with bennett and ayato normal overload instead of vaporize. This is just an unrealistic exemple to convey the importance of letting bennett C5

ER is probably one of the first stats that every character needs to focus first when building. High CV and low ER can give big damage per screenshot, but the lack of ER can reduce your overall damage per rotation (DPR). Say a team does 150k damage per 15 second rotation (90% within the first 10 seconds and 10% for the 5 seconds of left over CD and battery), you have a DPR of 10k/sec. If you need to increase battery time by say an additional 5 seconds, your rotation becomes 20 seconds for the same damage, changing DPR to 7.5k/second - effectively 25% damage decrease. ER is a core stat that shouldn't be ignored. Know what your ER reqs are and build accordingly. For team building here's some important tips regarding ER. Double elemental cores are strong because there is an energy penalty for picking up mismatching elemental particles, more matching particles = more energy and less ER needed. Solo elements need more ER for those teams. Favonious weapons are arguably the strongest weapons in the game, as there is no penalty for white particles.

Some extra tips: 1. Study the fundamentals. Learn what artifacts exist, their requirements and effects. Learn the weapons, the characters, elemental resonances. Learn how damage is calculated, enemy RES and DEF. Learn the elemental reactions, elemental gauge theory, elemental mastery, transformative, amplifying and additive reactions. Learn simultaneous reaction priority and elemental absorption priority. Learn what is snapshotting, what can be snapshotted and which talents can do it. Learn internal cooldown and what it is like for the talents of your characters. It is not necessary to know it all, but solid fundamentals will guide every decision you make now and in the future. 2. Use the "meta" as a framework to build around, not a decree. You should decide yourself how to play the game, but ignoring or boycotting all the insight from meta and theorycrafting can make for a miserable experience. Find the characters you like, see which ones you want to play the most and look at how other people have done it. 3. Prototype your teams. Trying out your characters on Abyss can provide valuable information on how to use them, even if they are not properly built. You might not see their damage potential, but you will know how much energy recharge everyone needs and how the elemental auras behave on enemies. You can also practice setups on overworld enemies, where you can check your status screen for any buffs you got or missed. 4. Abuse Abyss blessings and benedictions (the three cards you pick) To push your teams further for an specific Abyss, look at what bonuses are available and make the most out of them. For example, if the blessing gives more crit rate and your characters can fill the condition, then look for artifacts that become better assuming that extra crit rate. If you see benedictions that buff a certain stat, pick the ones that buff your weaker team. There are many things you can try. 5. Start using Genshin Optimizer and inventory scanning. Maximizing every factor in the output of your team is extremely non-trivial. Thankfully, the community developed and maintains software tools to crunch the numbers for you. Genshin Optimizer can simulate all kinds of damage your characters do in any scenario and find what setup will get the biggest results you want. But to be useful to you, it needs to be fed the state of your account. Inventory scanners are a separate tool that operates and looks at your game, recording everything you configured it to and exporting data that can be imported into Genshin Optimizer. Together, these tools give you tailor-made builds that surpass the limits of what the general recommendations you see online can achieve.

About your first tip about ER being an important stat, I learned that lesson a very long time ago but a couple weeks ago I saw a twitch streamer doing their abyss run. It was still on the 4.1 abyss version and their teams made no sense, they were using multiple damage carries on the same team that don't support each other. I was still amazed with how they were playing they managed to get 2 stars total in floor 12. They had a redeem for acc review so I decided to redeem it to see what they said about my showcase. They chewed me out for having too much ER on my characters claiming it was the most useless stat ingame because once one character's burst is out I got 3 other characters I could use was his logic on it. I don't even need full teams to have comfortable 9 star clears in floor 12 but being told I am doing things wrong by someone who is AR60 and can only get 2 stars on floor 12.... That was both funny and sad.

One extra tip from me: dont be afraid to use characters that are built better, say you have Raiden and Fishel : Raiden is usualy the best option, but if you have suboptimal build (artefact/talent/weapon/level) on Raiden but you have a better polished Fishel then use her, it doesnt need to be perfect just better. Also never be afraid to try making your own teams, that was my own mistake for the longest time, just recentry i compleated the abyss whit 36*, usualy i just skipped floor 12 just to avoid the hassle.

Tip 5 can't be stated enough. I see people freak out if they can't or aren't able to play the exact optimal team you see in guides or whatnot, but the reality is those are only suggestions. Their are very few units who MUST be played in exact comps, and yet I see people get worked up strangely. Optimize based on a given scenario, not on a preconceived belief of whats "best"

One of my favourite discoveries is to find teams of two who do really well together, then fill in the last 2 slots with units who support what the first two do really well. For example, Yae + Tighnari then there is the luxury of XQ, Fischl, Kokomi, Collei, Sucrose, Yaoyao, Kirara, etc. Heck, you could even go with double geo MC and Ningguang for some insane quick swap between units + Archaic Petra set for more electro damage buff. The reason why this works really well is that you have two supports who can fill in the needs of the chambers. If you have a high single DPS check, you might want to bring Kokomi + Fishl for hyperbloom aggravate and Fiscl proc. If you have random shield checks, you might want to bring the respective unit that will break those shields all while still having your core damage being done by Yae and Tighnari.

To build on #5 don't tunnel super hard into standard meta for the rest of the game. Usually there are more flexible teams that perform better and have more consistent and enjoyable gameplay outside of the abyss including combinations of units that typically would not be considered to have synergy in terms of maximizing abyss performance. I rarely choose any of my top abyss comps in overworld, domain farming, combat events, etc which is where most players spend most of their time.

For Kazuha and Ayaka freeze- I thiiiink freeze is just a case of if all enemies swirled are frozen then cryo overwrites hydro but if one enemy only has hydro then hydro overwrites cryo (assuming you're not using Lynette or anemo mc who prioritize cryo over hydro anyways- these are the only two with different element absorption priorities btw). For Kazuha's specific case- his plunging attack shatters freeze which can prompt a hydro swirl to also be managed easier.

I think it's important for new players to know what artifacts to save and I have a good rule of thumb. If you first look at your artifacts sub stats and you see that it has two or more stats that pair well with each other you should lock it. Some examples are: For any main stat Crt crtdmg Em er For a perfered weaker main stat Get the corresponding flat sub and one good second substat For fav users save Er crt Then maybe once a week go through all of your locked items and just get them all to level four. You can see if they're trash or not and if they are just unlock them and use them for fodder.

If I'm correct you can constantly double swirl Pyro and Cryo with Amber. Baron Bunny can hold a Cryo aura and Cryo aura only. So you can apply Cryo to Bunny and Amber burst the other enemies and swirl it. I don't have Kazoo, but Anemo Loomie does swirl twice. Now that I think about it, I'm curious if Bunny can enable some kind of Sunfrost team for Pyro DPS. Too bad I don't own Jean to test it.

Understanding how to build a team around the enemy line up in abyss is very important. For example, even bringing in a c6/r5 hyper carry into the first side of current floor 12 is going to leave you struggling without hydro. Sure you might still be able to brute force it but it isn't going to be easy. I'm glad you brought it up.

Having hit somewhat of a wall with the Abyss, your tips have helped me get through the 10th floor with all stars. I've yet to get back at it when I like to take a break when I get too stressed when I think I was using the wrong team for the first half of 11-1 (Bennett, Xinqui, Xiangling, Qiqi vs my Kuki, Barbara, Dendro MC, Collei (Main team)) when I saw the final part of that floor seems to be a boss I'd want to nuke down. But having only started back in February of this year, I spent a LOT of time before even starting up the game trying to get an understanding and overwhelmed myself when I was looking at endgame (Abyss/meta) content that really didn't matter until the last few months when I've cleared out the storyline and had a good enough team to clear the abyss up to the part where you needed 2 teams. But would you (or anyone else, happy to get knowledge from all players) have any advice for how much the stat priorities should be leveled when it comes to artifact farming? I have tried to do as little of that for the secondary team when it seems like I spent all my energy having done the artifact farming for my mains, and while I do sometimes use the strongbox to get rid of excess artifacts I still feel like I've got that about 76% down but looking for wisdom to get that last bit so I don't overextend if I could pass the dps checks that the abyss requires.

The energy recharge point is huge, glad it was first At one point I was just laser focused on getting big numbers, yelan for example, was stringless and all hp because I just paid attention to the big numbers happening on her burst, switched to favonious, crit rate and energy recharge and despite the smaller numbers she's doing so much more damage overall because it's a near constant uptime. Especially great for baizhu and kuki hyperbloom

Everything. YOU said hits the nail. 1 important thing i would like to add its Building your supports properly. Using the right artifacts and weapons on them in key to ur dps high dmg and getting ER .Without them ur dps will suffer. I always focus around 120ER as minimum for my DPS even if i have to sacrifice a bit of dmg the rest it comes from the supports. Having 100% burst up time its more important then having big dmg once then suffering to get the bursts ready you lose more in dmg . On abyss setting ur characters based on the rotations its a plus too . On a freeze team I usually set up Shenhe Kazuha Ayaka Mona in that way its easy for me to swap to each character properly without pressing the wrong character. Having a balanced crit ratio its also a very important thing. Having 280 CD and 50 CR like most players do its a loss dmg too. Dmg per second its more important then screenshot dmg . 200 cd with a 70

Lacking ER is definitely the most common issue I see in people's builds, same with SPD in HSR. People like seeing big crit number which is fair enough, but doesn't matter if your burst reliant char can't even use their burst or if they can't get a turn.

Regarding the double swirl, it depends on the attack and how much element it applies and if you can get off the swirl within the duration that they both exist. Electro and hydro coexist because they do not burn as much element from each other so double swirl is easy. Water --> fire-->double swirl is easier than fire --> water--> double swirl since fire-->water is the 2x vaporize multiplier that burns more of fire element possible leaving no element left over by the time you can switch to swirl (however you did get the bigger vaporize number). This is why off field application is also powerful because you can swirl both elements guaranteed. You won't know for sure how much element an attack applies without testing out your rotation or looking it up. Edit* I might have mixed up the direction of the fire/water multiplier but hopefully the point is still understood.

5 preparation tips that helped me get my first 36* last patch: 1) Identify your winning team(s) and BE DISCIPLINED in farming for them. I used to fall into the trap of getting a new character, building them half-assed and then dropping them which is a waste of time and resin that could have gone into my actual abyss teams. Learn the optimal weapons and artifact sets for the 8 chars you are going to use, get your talent and exp mats, and farm, farm, FARM those artifacts! Unless you're topping the leaderboard, there's always a better stat roll you can get, and that 5% extra ATK or crit substat can mean the difference between a 36* clear and a salty reset 2) Related to the above: Learn which domains are resin-efficient and focus on farming those. This obviously differs based on teams, for me, the Marechausee domain is extremely efficient for my Neuvillette-Furina comp as an example. Look up which artifact sets bring value to the MOST characters on your teams, and use the unwanted pieces on valuable but less efficient sets that can be strongboxed (looking at you VV!) 3) Identify talent/level/weapon priorities. Some characters need one of their talents maxed ASAP (e.g. Ayaka burst), other characters scale better with character levels (e.g. quicken Alhaitham). Look up YT videos or sites like Keqingmains to find out your characters' levelling priorities and make the most out of your time and mats 4) Don't look down on 3* weapons! I cleared 12-1 seahorse last patch with Lv80 Harbinger of Dawn Alhaitham, there are plenty of other good 3*s (TTDS, Magic Guide, White Tassel etc.). Even if they are not useful now, there may be characters in the future that can make good use of them, so keep at least 1 R5 copy of each 3* weapon before you junk the rest! 5) Like, comment and subscribe to Jello and other creators! Even after a year of playing, there's a lot to learn from hardworking creators like him, and watching these videos has genuinely made me a better player and made life a lot easier than if I were to research myself! Love your content! Just gonna say this: could you revisit how you pronounce certain characters' names? Xiangling's "xiang" rhymes with "hung". Xiao very nearly sounds like the first part of "shower". Likewise, Xingqiu is not "Sing"qiu. The "X" in Xingqiu, Xiangling, and Xiao are all pronounced the exact same: "shhh", not "sss" or "j".

My best tip: You don't have to 9 star the whole Abyss 12 with the same team. Sometimes you can 6 star the first two chambers with one set of team but struggling to DPS the last chamber. You can get the 6 stars for the first two chambers first and use a different team to finish the last one. I didn't have a very good Electro DPS that can DPS Coppelia fast enough in 1 minute so I changed to my Hu Tao, Yelan, Xingqiu, Zhongli team for the second half of the last chamber while using Nilou team on the first half. My Hu Tao and Yelan is my best built units so they can make short work on Coppelia. She did suffer on SIMON boss, but it won't matter because it was already 3 star the first and second chambers. As long as they can pass the first and second chamber, you're still good to go.

@@xdragon2k Huh, I never realized that people didn't know that you don't have to get all 9 stars on a floor with the same teams. I think I figured it out even before I started doing floors 9-12 :p. But, yes, if people don't know that you can switch up teams to get all 9 stars on a floor, that's probably the best tip. I usually don't 9 star floor 12 with the same teams on all chambers (as none of my characters are level 90). And yet I've been 36 starring Abyss for around 2 1/2 years. Also, you can target specific bonuses that only work on 1 floor to get a better bonus on that chamber if you're having trouble with a specific chamber (like ATK +40%/DEF -15% vs. the dash DMG bonus given across the whole floor, etc.)

A little something about the rotation, take care to benefit of the buffs on the right character, if you have a holder of Thrilling tales of the dragon slayer, you might want to swith to them before activating a snapshot-able burst or skill or going to your main DPS. In a 4* Taser (often Fischl/Beidou/Xingqiu/Sucrose) you might want to switch on Sucrose before using Beidou's burst, and then back to Sucrose to NA and massively swirl. And on the other hand, some main DPS have a mode to activate before doing the most of their damage (I'm thinking Itto, but I guess it applies to other characters), you may want to activate that mod (burst for Itto) before using the rest of their kit (his skill then NA, CA and so) as it will benefit more from it. But I guess that may vary between different characters.

Once you clear abyss, don't be afraid to keep replaying it. Also select neutral buffs because say, a ''20% burst damage'' buff wont be available the next day. Then use these fights as a way to test out teams/weapons/artifacts.

First I clear with an optimal team I consider can clear it with 3 stars. After that, I try with different teams and try to get 3. During the rotations, you learn if ER is a little less or what needs to be adjusted in artifacts.

Advice for my Hu Tao players out there. Experiment with doing N2C combos instead of N1C. It often helps you get more hydro application and just deal more damage. I found in an abyss rotation I was struggling with that simply making this change alone made my clear time about 20 seconds faster.

That time there was the Pyro crab in the abyss, I was struggling to break its shield, so what I ended up doing was playing Ayato, Yelan, Jean(C2), Mika, setting up Ayato with a bunch of attack speed buffs, and using him and Yelan to break the crab's shield faster, and somehow it ended up working not just against the crab, but in all 3 chambers of that half. So I love that last tip about not being stuck to the "best" team for your "best" character. Playing that "suboptimal" team has led me to discovering my favorite overworld team of all time(Ayato, Mika, C2 Jean, C6 Yun Jin) and has made my favorite character even more fun for me to play.

There is an unorthodox way to funnel energy if you do burst then skill : right after elemental particles come out, you open adventurer's handbook. The game might be paused, but the elemental particles still CAN move during that time, so your character will fully received their skill elemental particles. Still, not really recommended unless you're trying to speedrun SA, skill then burst is still the way to go. This technique can also be used for Noelle's spinning attack so she will keep spinning without stopping until her stamina is running out.

Something I believe you should do is for a video people who are just starting the abyss and have no way of defeating the abyss, but optimizing the primos getting 8-9 and 7/9 for 11 and 12. I am too early right after 45 to even get pst floor 11 without missing out one everything.

I used to not have enough er, The er requirements in overworld and Abyss is completely different and I didn't notice it until I saw Kazuha builds videos which said generally Favonius is better than iron stinger. My er from artifacts was enough for overworld but not Abyss. I still make a lot of mistakes in rotations but I somehow get by 30 stars with hyperbloom.

not a tip but a question, maybe a free idea for another video lol: what about damage buffs or modifiers that work only on normal/charged attack vs skill vs burst? Im not sure about this but to mention a few examples: noblesse and emblem buffs only some ults but not all, I guess it not only buffs raiden's big slash but also her hits during burst(?) but not xiao because his burst is a anemo+dmg buff to his attack talent(and it doesnt make the buff bigger), not sure about itto and what about cyno, his burst replaces his attacks with its own attacks and multipliers, I guess he should get buffed by emblem but not by gladiator? or golden troupe, I guess it buffs keqing throwing dagger and teleport attack skill but I guess it wont buff in any way the electro infusion it gives to her normal, also that means that using noblesse bennett on xiao is a waste (ignoring the rest of the team) but on raiden it would be double buff for the burst? there are some things that are obvious like melelith zhongli buffing attack not benefitting neuvillette whose dmg scales from hp BUT there are other things that are deeper and more intricate, complex, weird, unclear that maybe you can explain like which bursts are considered burst damage or how to identify those and which are not and are not going to get buffed by burst dmg buffs or when do they conflict like raiden with beidou or dehya with alsmost everyone else

Sounds like a recap video, as the community as a whole (mainly YT CC's and the ppl on Reddit) have discussed these points in the past (mainly during version 2.X, when the EoSF artifact set came out - Beidou's non-interaction with Raiden was a big issue to many, for example) but the algorithm has already buried that as old info, so newer players end up not getting these nuances nowadays. Rule of thumb, always read descriptions for abilities and artifacts throughly, then Google more info on 'em if they still seem obscure.

I don’t call trying lots of characters a mistake at high AR. It is a problem though if under AR50 and underbuilt so badly that you need someone to coop carry you for ascension materials. I have fun trying different builds, so I’m fine to have 32 stars on the Abyss because I’d otherwise get bored.

my biggest is don't over value crit value. some characters like yelan get almost as much from HP% as she does crit damage. I used a HP% circlet on yelan for quite awhile. also try and get a few decent instructor sets even though its a 4 star set it is very useful on quite a few teams and characters.

You don't want to double Swirl with Ayaka Freeze if you're using Kazuha and either Kokomi or Mona. You need Kokomi/Mona to go just before Ayaka burst, that way you get Thrilling Tales buff.

Your number 1 tip is it. My lvl 80 C1 yelan with fav out performed a lvl 90 c0 yelan with her signature weapon with way better crit stats. This happened in multi-player. First play through I used my yelan, fairly easy clear. I had 100% burst uptime. Second run we used his yelan. Fight seemed to go on forever and that's the only time I ever failed a domain run because we all died and I never do matchmaking now.

It's probably not that he's yelan is worse than yours. It's possible that he had an optimal team in single player mode that can give his yelan the energy that she needs but couldn't do so since she's with a different team with different characters, builds, and weapons

You talked about people becoming too focused on Crit and ignoring ER, but I'd also add on to people ignoring their other damage related stats for crit too. Like a Hu Tao with 200 crit damage and 200 EM will perform better than a Hu Tao with 250 crit damage and 0 EM.

Build CRIT RATE!!! If your character has 140 CRIT DMG you should have 70 CRIT RATE! Too many people stop at 50 CRIT RATE, but have 200 CRIT DMG!!! Lower your CRIT DMG and raise your CRIT RATE; I promise the enemies will die noticeably faster!!!

I'm gonna say the most important thing you need to know is that damage isn't everything sometimes you have that broken team that you build but you cant clear content using it and that because your field control sucks you need a team where you do damage and have control of the field that's why ayaka freez is broken it's not really the damage you're doing it's the control that you have against annoying enemies like the sumeru's beasts and the annoying samurais the other thing is that fav weapons are so good don't be afraid of using them on someone like Bennett and please stop building 300 cd with 50 cr you need balance and you must know enemies movement and this is probably the most important thing as soon as you understand the movement patterns almost everything is gonna be easier no matter what team you're using

So i love zhongli,fischl,neuvillete,kazuha... i usually go zhongli e, fischl e, neuvillette e, kazuha hold e, and then back to neuvillte for charge attack and then burst... sometimes i swirl both electo and hydro and sometimes its a miss, am i doing something wrong it seems like the double application disappears fast at times.

use lynette she's free. even if she's lvl 1, slap a VV 4pc set on her and she will still be able to give your team a lot of damage thru VV. you lose the grouping sucrose and kazuha offers but there's no going around that if you don't have anemo units yet

Hey Jello I have been a subscriber for quite some time and I always find your content useful and interesting! However, currently I am finding myself in a predicament where I do not know if I should pull Furina or save for Nahida, as the abyss will most likely be centered around Furina, but Nahida is strong and Hyperbloom is one of my favorite teams. But I really love Furina’s design. Pulling for Furina means i’d have to build Jean too and I already have Xingqiu, Yelan, Kokomi, Ayato, so i don’t know if it is still viable to go for Furina. I have always pulled for characters regarding the meta as I am f2p so I am not sure if I should go for Nahida. Point is that I love Furina but I love hyperbloom I would really like it if somebody helped me out of this situation TvT

You can get Nahida since she provides a lot of buff + dendro application and Furina is NEW so she will rerun faster probably where nahida wont come months maybe a year

I'ma be honest you don't really need to pull for furina coz you already have many good hydro character. But as crazy as this sound, you also don't need nahida to play hyperbloom team (shocker!! I know). Pulling for nahida will be a better option for your account, but i think your account is strong enough to build a good team so you can pull for furina if you want. If you care about abyss, i can already recommend 2 team for this abyss 1. Ayato, dendro MC, fischl or beidou (assuming you have her), and kuki shinobu (assuming you have her). You got a good hyperbloom team, not as good as nahida but by no mean it's a bad team 2. Kokomi, yelan, xingqiu, and anemo for VV (kazuha is recommended but sucrose/jean is good option too). It's a mono hydro team that's good for the first half but you can replace either yelan or xingqiu with fischl/beidou to make a taser team. As boring as it sound, in the end it's up to you to pull whoever you like. I just want to say that furina isn't really needed in your account in term of power and nahida isn't really needed for you to play hyperbloom team

But you can mix and match the template by swaping xingqiu and/or yelan with ayato and/or beidou if you need more AOE damage, or using kokomi onfield if you need more healing etc. Yeah beidou and sucrose are also strong 4 star character that are sometimes neglected.
