One thing I think you got wrong. Was the Scania 770. Do you know how the engines were measured Because most facilities measure from crank shaft. But the Scania 770 is measured from wheels. I think. Correct me if I’m wrong. But because of the measurement on the Scania doesn’t that make the 770 more like 800 hp

The order should be like this: 1. Scania 2. Volvo 3. Detroit 4. Cummins 5. Mercedes 6. MAN 7. Mack 8. Hino 9. Paccar 10. FPT CursoR 11. Weichai NB: Caterpillar would have been Number 2

It is interesting how all of these engines are foreign designs, and aside from the om473/detroit dd16, none are used in north american trucks. I always thought we’d want more power than europe, which has less challenging terrain and low speed limits for tow vehicles.

Scania is the best and f the rest. Legendary architecture, legendary firing order, legendary power, legendary sound. The mercedes and detroit dd series architecture is a MAN marine diesel engine. People say that Detroit is just a Mercedes engine, no, sorry, both are a late 2000's MAN marine diesel engine. I still would not touch a Shacman. If you give me one, id sell it and buy a Scania. Its more than just HP, its, Status.

I've got a dilemma here. Cause we all know that people sleep in trucks. But how wide are they?
@ontheroadagain47733 күн бұрын
Trucks can be 2.55 m wide at least in Europe and the width of these cabs are close to the full width so I believe sleeping wouldn't be a problem.

@ontheroadagain47733 күн бұрын
The marine version of Scania's 16 litre V8 produces up to 1150 hp and Volvo's smaller 13 litre I6 up to 1000 hp so marine engines play in a different class.

@kimreinikainen3 күн бұрын
@fboest they don't make standard european semis at all. For commercial use only special transport hauler, gravel and timber trucks mainly and as outside of Finland and Sweden the weight limits are so low there is no need for high power.
