OMG! You must be my twin. I've been freeforming 6 months.The back is full & has layers. The sides are doing their own thing but forming pretty well. The top of my head needs prayer; no locs just a short mini fro. I am so glad I found your channel. No more worrying now after receiving all your tips & information. Thank you!

Solid words/advice! I'm locd now for 3 years and 4 months and watching my hair in winter vs. summer/spring is a huge difference. My routine and care changes for what my locs need. I just got into my winter groove and they feel really good now. 👌🏾👏🏽

This the one. You have the best, phase of the locs explained, I have come across so far. I had about a year of hair a course afro long with typical shrinkage. Tried braids but had rolls on the back of my head and the way cornrows hung off my stuff lol I was like nah I'm good. I decided to go freeform locs and start from bald/scalped didnt want to be missing some of hair from tapered haircuts. I got my haircut bald/scalped May, 11, 2019. I swear I done watched a 100 or so videos trying to figure why my stuff wasn't budding for the longest. Was taking my time washing, would wash and progress reset to ZERO, using sponge, the big side I wanted to go for Donald Glover, Jay - Z, J. Cole, Bob Marley look. So as is stands with my hair and texture from May 11, 2019 to Jan. 2020 I'm getting my budding took only 8 months sheeesh. Sitting at 9 months from bald to fro and budding going on 10 months it's definitely a journey. I don't get looks from strangers lol guess I look intimidating. Family have they say so on it then I hit them with thats that Jim Crow in ya lol

Thank you Thank you!!! I’m 2 months into my loc journey and didn’t have a clue about what to expect. Like you I began my journey with a twa. I see that you didn’t do a lot of retwisting. I was also very surprised to see each stage. Most videos start with the first install and then jumps into the teen stage. I now truly know what to expect in this journey. Your video has truly been a blessing 💕

I'm so glad I found your Channel. I just cut my second set of Locs 3 weeks ago. And it was simply because I didn't know. I made all the mistakes that I should not have made, but that's okay. So this time I think I'm going to freeform. I haven't made up my mind yet. But I wrote down all the phases all the Care and at least this time I will have a road map to go by. I'm 60 years old. So I'm wondering will my age affect those stages. I am trying to eat a lot of vegetables and things like that. So we will see. Thanks again.

Very helpful video. I shaved off all my hair when COVID hit last year and decided ro lock just last September so i am in the beginning phase of my lock journey. What I realise is that my hair tells me what to do with it in spite of all the info i get from KZbin videos. I must say yours has been the most enlightening abd helpful. Thanks.

The “ugly phase” to me was more about my length not what the loc was doing. I loved the budding phase, they were puffy and cute. Lol. It always takes my hair 3 months to bud, all 6 of my starter loc journeys 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ lol.

Thanks queen! I’ll be 6 months loc’d next week. This is my 8th set! I always cut them off around this time because they were looking crazy and I didn’t have confidence when people would look upside my head. I’m getting antsy again but this time it’s because I’m excited! I got rid of toxic energy and cycles in my life and found a new love for myself. This set of locs are here to stay and I’ve been growing with them. They’ve taught me a lot about myself. Peace and love Po!

Peace! Thank you for the Love 🙏🏾💕 Yes, I wrapped my hair very early in my journey. I didn’t know the “stuffing your wrap” trick so my headwraps were very low, but I loved them just the same lol
@fredashort91105 жыл бұрын
@@TheQueenPo Thx for responding!! It seem lik my starters are getting flat..thats why I was wondering was I not supposed to wrap them. I have very soft hair so that might just be how they will end up
@denisemccleese38955 жыл бұрын
What is the stuffing your wrap trick?
@TheQueenPo5 жыл бұрын
Denise McCleese aka Song of the Valley that is when ppl use an extra piece of cloth and place it on top of their head; then, wrap their hair. This adds height to their head wraps and give it a full look.

Also, I couldn't quite understand. When do we finally wash with water in phase 2? Am I correct in assuming that in Phase 1 we use the witch hazel mixture. Only?
@TheQueenPo5 жыл бұрын
Denise McCleese aka Song of the Valley great Question! If you are Freeforming or interlocking you can wash any time and as much as you want. If you are cultivating using any twisting method then you should wait at least 3-4 months before washing and only use the witch hazel in the meantime
