I am German, but I live in Taiwan. All that is absolutely correct, but I would find another 100 good reason why to stay here in Taiwan forever.

Formosa Art Is living in there expensive?
@YingInternational9 жыл бұрын
ByDazuu Well, this is a question of relation. I think most of the things just cost around 25% compared with Germany, but the income is also just 25% of Germany for several reasons. You can find good meals for just 1 EURO and there are many small restaurants with good food with low prices. If you want to know more, just write to me at my business email: Service4U@FORMOSA-Art.com.

Ying International Ok thanks man, im going there in 4 days, just curious you know :P
@rrmetalbox49699 жыл бұрын
Ying International where can you find good meal for only 1 euro in Taiwan????? 1euro exchage to Taiwanese dollars is only 34.5 NDT!!! regular meal would cost more likely around 3-5 euro. Taiwanese average annual income is around 20000 U.S dollars, are you saying Germanys' averagely making 80000 U.S dollars annually??? even Canadian or U.S 's average annual income is around 45000 U.S dollars. i doubt where did you get those wrong infor.

Manas Surya Mainland China has plenty going for it as well. For a non-Chinese speaker, and specifically ignorant Americans, Taiwan is indeed the better place to visit. Although its those very same tourists that take away from it. Nicer people? Not really, about the same, the mentality is different but their hospitality is just as much rooted in Chinese tradition. In fact there is no country in the world where people are not welcoming of guests. Pollution yea, but keep in mind that you too are responsible for it with your "made in China" everything. Dont bitch about them fucking up their country just because you are too lazy to work. Freedom? Actually in many aspects China offers more freedom than Taiwan or most other countries. You bringing it up as some point makes it rather obvious you have not actually been to China. I would not pick one over the other. Taiwan is certainly easier to find your way around and is highly westernized (to its detriment). China is quite a bit more hardcore. If you dont know anything about Chinese culture and history and dont speak Chinese then Taiwan is the better choice for sure. Oh and according to both PRC and ROC there is only one China. Both have a unification policy. Sad that people cut some 5000 year of history over some foreign introduced bullshit politics.
@manassurya20199 жыл бұрын

Compare Delhi to Tokyo or Seoul
@samwitwickynova9 жыл бұрын
gemmydude598 Yeah , i know that is why i said for the most part! India is one huge country whereas south korea or taiwan merely make up the size of indian cities. You can actually experience four different climatic zones . Up-North you can visit cold himalayas to the west you can see one kickass desert to the east you can witness 24 hour rainfall and to the south you can see tropicall rainforests similar to Amazon rainforest . And on top of that almost all indians speak english which may lack in eastern asia part . And as to delhi or mumbai or whatever indian city you want to compare to they're actually flithy rich , Much richer than seoul but on the down side many people are poor as well . You can easily avoid the poor side if you want to . All im saying is if you ever visit asia don't miss out on visiting india or china . They're beautiful and awesome , don't listen to media . This is coming from a fellow traveller

I have travelled and lived in Taiwan for almost one year and make videos about my experiences. It's a beautiful country in which to live or travel. Nature and the coast are never so far away and there is so much on offer here which makes it a perfect place for any type of traveller. But, as insightful as this video is, I personally have to disagree with being an English speaker will be no problem in Taiwan. I have encountered many language and communication barriers in most parts of Taiwan. Yes a majority of Taiwanese people can speak (basic) English. There is enough to communicate the basics sometimes. But what you need to understand about Taiwan is that although basic fluency exists in most regions, people here do not necessarily want to speak English. So please don't expect an easy time here if you do not know Chinese, or enough to get by. It's difficult to communicate and quite awkward at times. I spent two years travelling in Asia and Taiwan has been the most difficult when it comes to my lack of language skills. So unless you only plan to spend your time in Taipei where speaking English with locals is more common, I would certainly brush up on your basic Chinese, carry a phrase book, download an app. You will need it. Enjoy amazing Taiwan and safe travels!

The Hunter Traveller , thank you for the kind words about Taiwan, also, I do agree with the advices you stated here which is true in some ways, anyway, happy stay and take good care!

I would suggest you to talk to young people under 40, and speak slowly or use writing. English is required course from grade 7 to 12 in Taiwan. In recent years it started from 3rd grade. Younger generation has basic English reading and writing skill but not very good at listening and speaking due to lack of practice in daily life.

Hi my student Belle and I really appreciate the way you introduce Taiwan. We also have something to share. There are lots of historical buildings that are restored and turned into a new form of architect. Tainan, our hometown, is the best city to visit for sure. We have Hayashi department store, which was left from Japan's colony and had the modernest design back then. This is a must-go place when visiting Tainan. If you're a fan of historical trip, you can't skip Tainan.
