It might seem like a controversial subject, but would you mind doing a "drafting-to-lose" video in which you're expecting a losing matchup? Hector has touched on this topic before with the "AFK laning support" and again when you analyzed Korean Sett, but perhaps we can look into the big picture and talk about how to accept when you're the weaker side, as opposed to just saying "high elo stomps low elo". My point is that if everyone's going in expecting to apply what the guide teaches, then suddenly everyone's overstepping their boundaries all the time, and questioning if they actually learned anything.

@@kooldudematt1 For Melee champions, health is a critical resource. You can't afford to trade too much of it to get creeps, so with the ranged champion ready to harass, you need to bait abilities before you take the last hit, or you need to just trade health for it. Various melee champions can get some safety for their last hits, such as Zed and Yasuo (which is why melee Noobs find value in clinging to them.) When you're a melee carry, the kills are everything, and you just can't do the all-in if you haven't been staying healthy. I would recommend Doran's Shield and Second Wind to mitigate the ranged matchup as much as possible. As long as all you're taking is basic poke, these things, by themselves, are enough to sustain you.

I'd love to see a guide on how to properly trade with the opponent. I suck at trading in the laning phase and I want to get better at it. What I'm doing is going for a trade after they use their skills to last hit or when they are trying to harass me or if i have a level advantage. However I sometimes lose those trades even when i have level or item advantages or when they skills are down. Is it dependent on how both of our champions work or are there fundamentals that can apply to any champion?

for sure if you let an autoattack base champion reach you even if their abilities are down they will win the trade, you can outrade it if you keep distance as a ranged or have a better engage if you are mele

I think he knew that heca would path top instead of mid. Look at aatrox position on top, he's pretty far from his tower and if you were playing heca i doubt that you would go mid seeing as your liss is a level behind and has no more mana. The heca knew he had no kill potential mid (and brand also knew this) so he was confident to go for the liss kill

Hecarim is not level 6 and he still has flash. He set a freeze so his minions would come meet in the middle of the lane in case he needed to escape (more of counter to kha zix technique but applies here). Minion damage is still high and can also block movement,etc. too. Plus hecarim just had a fight with lee sin so would be a bit low hp to risk a gank. But all in all to go for the kill he just made sure his positioning wasn't too far away from any escape routes he has.

7:50 you messed up as you saw hecerim entered lee sins jungle and u did not enter your red side to counter hecrims invade 2v1 hecrim, besides you should have shoved instead of freeze knowing hecrim is deep into your jungle and rotate quickly. Besides because you did not rotate, lee sin lost crugs and rapters to hecrim. This is double value for enemy jg while shoving lee sin out of is jungle to recall.

From a higher elo point of view, you are right. BUT... As mcbaze stated, this is gold elo. In my opinion, in this kind of elo, it's better to use your existing lead to win your lane first (i.e. killing Lissandra if she stays in lane). If he was to go after Hecarim, who knows what would've happen? Probably lee sin would've still not reacted in time, and maybe Lissandra would follow up and you end up in a 1v2 and die pathetically in your own jungle. Never take coin flips like that, especially since, at that time, Brand still has not capitalized yet on those early won trades. If he were to leave lane at that moment, Lissandra would've broken the freeze, shoved the lane in and got a free reset, and all the trading and level advantage would've been wasted. Staying in lane was the right call, in my opinion.

It would basically be the same advice for top lane. The only difference is that your trades might be melee and position away from a jungle gank will be trickier if you're weak side due to the tribush. All of this info can be applied to all lanes

True, unfair indeed. BUT still, if you do this consistently in your games, you draw the enemy jungler's attention to your lane more and more often, meaning others have an easier time laning. Eventually, you'll learn to consistently survive jungler's ganks more and more often. That's usually when people transcend their current elo and evolve.

Unless your internet is bad, don't use it, it'll hurt your play instead. Or if you have high ping (80+) Mostly preference though, see if you like it or not.

movement prediction is a lag compensation mechanic that tries to simulate 0ms lag on your screen and champion. The problem is, this creates unsynced champion position/location especially over unstable network. Say you have 100 ping and you start moving, then a blitz hook is thrown to you. You have your prediction turned on so you think you are positioned at 0ms (lets say your moving right, and you moved 33 pixels according to base 330 movespeed) and hence dont need to dodge or flash from your perspective. But network perspective sees you 100ms ago(33pixels more left then what you saw on ur screen), which would mean you do get grabbed. tl;dr, movement prediction is visual trickery and i actually think it hinders your judgement for crucial on the fly reactions for skillshots. if the above explanation didnt make sense for you, hmu, ill try to include visual help next time.

The level advantage and stun skill shot should give you the main ideas, he know that if he went for a trade as Lissandra was under level and walking up for cs, he would win, he want to make sure that Lissandra would lose as much exp as possible and staying in a sweet spot for his Q to land, this is when his walk up behind those casters come in, so he wouldn't miss his Q, if he try to trade Lissandra when she up for cs, even if her level was lower, his chance for hitting his Qs if she stayed behind 2 melee minions is greatly hinder.

Hey Skillcapped! Another op trick at lvl 1 is to just walk up to the enemy laner if u know u get lvl 2 first, bc u get lvl 2 while fighting the enemy laner :D i get most of my firstbloods like this, people always get baited into fighting lvl 1 then they get destroyed by your lvl 2 advantage xD. I said if YOU KNOW you are getting lvl 2 first bc the minions dies FIRST, then its a good idea to just fight, even at a disadvantage, cause you lvl up (Lvl 2) in the middle of the fight. That's what i meant, its a bit tricky to accomplish in mid, but as adc or toplane its a pretty Easy free elo exploit, people will fight you, you just need to bait them into thinking they are gonna win.

actually I think, the lisandra kill was pretty risky (6:16 ward was missplay because it doesn't give you vision around raptors, in 8:07 brand should look on hecarim's hp bar, because if it is more than half you may die to hecarim gank) prove me if I am wrong also I would try to push the lane in 8:08 with W + E and get reset (to get mana and so on) but I dont play brand, so I don't know if it is possible

No instead you should w e the wave then run i to your red side since you saw hecrim went to your red side and counter the invade. 2v1 the hecrim with lee sin. The kill on lis was very risky as that was her misplay. Top had priority and lis was a level down. But because he didnt rotate, lee sin lost rapters and crugs and was shoved out of his jungle putting him very far behind. League is a team game and that means that you should not only plan to have yourself be the carry but instead win as a team by cooperating properly.

What should I do, when the enemy is recalling and I have a freeze? Should I let the wave be wave and recall too or only last hit until my opponent is back and then slow push to get my own recall?

The usual thing is as he goes away to waveclear asap and get the wave to reset under their tower. But if your waveclear sucks you can leave it frozen and recall yourself although then your opponent will break the freeze and can counterfreeze it. I generally would avoid to create a slowpushing wave into your opponent. If they are good they will get most or all the cs and have them play under their tower safely. Slowpushing waves can be used for roaming.

I think a good point to put out for lower elo players is to take those cannon minions with abilities!! Missing one u miss so much gold but last hitting one with an ability usually doesn't cost you that much mana. In high elo, sure every bit of mana counts but in low elo getting that last hit on the cannon with an ability instead of relying on your ''shitty'' cs'ing you should last hit with your ability that deals the most dmg to surely get it.

If you watch diamond/masters gameplay, you'll see how people miss those cannon minions like there is no tomorrow LOL, at the point that it became a meme. And NOT because they were challenged by the enemy laner. Shit just happens. I also saw occasionally using their spammable ability to get the cannons, sometimes even stating "I really don't wanna miss this since I need to buy X item". Nothing wrong with using abilities to get those cannons, especially since it's a low CD or low mana cost ability.

I play katarina I insta lose my lane I cant cs I just sit under my turret and try to cs and not take that much dmg. How am i supposed to roam and win my lane? Should l just quit kat and go play something braindead proof mage champ like you usually show?

When you are melee vs range, then you have to play around the lvl3 concept - stay as healthy as posiable, take free CS and let them push. Once you hit lvl3 and are healthy then you have preasure, and can punish them for being out of position.

that sounds actually good I should try to remember that for the next time I play kat. But I still have some problems with her, like I kinda lose every trade and I cant roam without pushing and losing cs and to top it off some matchups are a champ diff you cant generally win the lane so you just sit there and admire how the grass is so green.

@@villetiittanen4607 you can win even those, you just have to wait for the right moment, and on a champion like katarina it becomes also a question of your mechanics at higher elo

@@villetiittanen4607 for reference the best TFs know theyll lose lane or even champ diff yet still win the game anyways, its all about knowing the game especially in this new season. For now focus on surviving mid. Play melee then do what they said wait for lvl 3, you WILL lose minions because you have to - just try to get as many as you can without to much hp loss. When it comes to roaming while not an expert myself I do believe this channel covered by saying learning the roam timer on cannon so you dont lose to much. Its not a loss if you get an assist or kill just make sure the roam is worth it.

I got to plat last season spamming kassadin, feeding then hitting lvl 16 and winning. Now all the scalers are bad and I'm about to hit gold. F in the chat for me

That's just depressing my guy, I was iron because I never tried at ranked, so I decided to try hard, in 20 games I got to bronze 1 xD
