Dude League guide videos have gotten so much better. I used to hate when it was just someone playing and vaguely explaining the game, this is much more in depth with actual explanations of your thought process.

I think the last part when you went on to explain how to snowball and the transistion from micro wins to macro wins was really really useful. It's basically the step by step guide i've been missing on how to actually snowball the game, but i've been doing it subconciously for almost 2 seasons. Really "Woke me up" in terms of clarity about the game. Knowing how to, planning it and executing it conciously is so much more rewarding. Tyvm. Content has true value.

hi Shok I was thinking about the fact that sometimes, doing nothing is the most optimal play: sometimes as artillery mage, when poking and roaming are bad when your team is poke oriented but you have nothing to poke when you wait for an ally when waiting for enemy to show up on map I feel like this topic is barely ever covered. Maybe it’s a bad one as the situations where doing nothing is optimal are not related. But they share in common that they are counterintuitive. Players learn to take decisions as quickly as possible because time is an important ressource. But sometimes the most optimal play is to stand still. Maybe it’s just a specific case of danger zones. As standing as close as possible but outside of it is best. So when danger zones are massive, you don’t have range to reach anything. But it’s arguably even harder to tether on danger zones than champions abilities since they are hard to see, define and respect. idk I m even more lost than when starting to write this comment. have a good day 😄

Yeah I like this concept! It's something I've talked briefly about in my wave management video where I say sometimes the best thing to do is to just keep the wave in the middle (which is essentially doing nothing) because all the other options aren't good. Maybe it's something I should cover more generally at some point!

Do you get Equal XP on Creep death, say one has priority and you keep in distance but out of poke to get XP, does it work like that in League?

Hello Shok, what do you think about Ryze? My friend finds him very fun and wants to play him, but is he too weak to OTP? I also wanna play TF/ Aurelion but i'm unsure.
@ShokLeague2 жыл бұрын
I think he's decent, obviously weaker than the OP meta champs but he's fine. TF and Asol are both pretty good imo, Asol I'd be less confident about just because I don't really play or see him often, but when I do it seems strong

so on the thought of breaking a freeze. I play lots of champions like pantheon, xin, etc. (melee champs who don't have the best long ranged waveclear who want to play aggro). I personally hate pushing since if it ends up in a freeze, I cant break it since I cant clear wave without taking towershots/too much poke and I cant engage or else I end up under tower (also I am easy to gank as well). Also I end up giving them free farm under tower as I cant really dive nor can I poke them under tower that well, this usually ends up before scuttle spawns as well so I cant really go there either, if I base I just lose a lot of tempo IMO and sometimes allow them to get a free base as well (this is particularly bad since I want to kill early)(ik I'm probably not doing the wave state optimally). But I also hate letting the wave push in as they just end up getting that lvl/minion advantage. Any advice?
@ShokLeague2 жыл бұрын
I think normally as a melee champion you should be able to win vs ranged champions even if they have lvl/minion advantage, especially if they waste cooldowns on you. It can be annoying when the wave eventually pushes back out though, normally you want to stack at least 2 waves when you push out as a melee because otherwise it's hard for you to actually crash the wave and you're kinda relying on the creeps to do the work for you
@GoodnotGreat884 ай бұрын
So many of your tips revolve around knowing power spikes and match ups. Is there a good way to learn those without putting 1000 hours into the game?
@ShokLeague4 ай бұрын
hmm I feel like I generalize a fair amount, obviously if you know matchups its great but if you have strong laning fundamentals you can play most matchups the same and end up ahead. If you did wanna learn matchups though the best thing would be to watch other people play them rather than play them yourself (at least imo)
@GoodnotGreat884 ай бұрын
@ShokLeague yah thanks. It's overall a great guide. I'm just trying to learn the game and the biggest wall I'm running into is so much of being good is knowledge based and riot doesn't make finding information easy. Using a lot of 3rd party sites and KZbin to learn what I can right now

Hi shock, i have a question on this video (i’m sorry i’m kinda late i just started watching you). At 11:17 when you’re trading syndra, why aren’t you chasing her? Because i think you can kill her. Is it because you know that her jgler was botside or is it bc it’s better to come back at thé wave here? I’d love if you could answer. Love the content, watching it to get to masters (i’m d2 rn). Keep up the good vids 💛💛

I might make some guides for other roles but I'm not sure what content exactly to make, I think a lot of the content I've made sorta applies for other roles so maybe it would just be repackaging it and giving adc examples instead of mid examples

how much of this is still relevant when you play ADC?
@ShokLeague2 жыл бұрын
Some of it, lots of the wave control will be similar but cooldowns are pretty different in bot lane since there are 4 people instead of 2, and also the dynamic changes heavily based on what support you're playing with. Arrow has really good ADC videos so I would check those out!
