I started with an Inpulse 500. I love it, great little piece of kit. BUT I would suggest going with the Pioneer, if you really want to take yourself to the next level. Learn on Pioneer gear, so that you'll understand your upgrades, or club/festival gear. I'm a Denon dj myself, but the smart move is go with the standard. Just my 2 cents, do what you like, but take that advice for what it's worth.

You have to look at it this way. It's no different that playing music on an instrument. I've been spinning since 1994 and I studied music at the conservatory as a guitarist. Things just happen. I can't count the times I've pressed CUE, lifted a needle or what ever during a set. It just happens and you need to be on top of it fast. If you show a great deal of embarrassment then that's what the audience will pick up on. If you act cool, laugh at ourself and move on, it is quickly forgotten.

Good video but I would say not all dj's are comfortable with bouncing around the dj booth or stage and it isn't unbeknown that a lot of dj's are shy and introverted. Many people also don't pay to see a dj perform they come for a night out to enjoy themselves and often can barely see the dj. There's more than one way to express that you are having a good time which can be simply how you choose to play the tunes. There's too much emphasis being placed on being a showman type of dj as if every time you play music you must be the star attention. That's not often the case especially if you are a mobile dj.
@djcarlo3 жыл бұрын

At 3:33 it wasn't about 'no energy' from David Guetta.. he was under the influence and for a moment whatever he consumed, hit him quite hard.. And for Steve Aoki, we all know the energy he brings in while playing -- that's how he is and that's how he'll always be.
@djcarlo3 жыл бұрын
I honestly wondered what he took there because, man, that thousand yard stare really hits different.

As overused as I find it, some DJs still find a way to use it at the right time and make it jive with the music!

On my first ever gig i borrowed the laptop and controller the others were using, the controller was old and beaten up badly, so it bugged uncontrolably 3 times in my 90 mins. Such things do thicken your skin haha

Lesson learned: get your own equipment, and make sure its nice and pristine! I've heard of similar stories from other DJ friends of mine when they were starting out, and it made them buy equipment! Hahaha

@@djcarlo It did push me to! Also important: BEWARE who you let to use your equipment, friend of mine and i bought the ddj-400 around the same time, he lets other people borrow/use it frequently, guess which is already beaten.

Hey just a question what happens when a DJ like doesn't hit the right button and misses a beat does that ever happen?
@djcarlo2 жыл бұрын
That happens a LOT and it could lead to a lot of things, depending on the button that was hit. The music could stop, the cue might be missed, the song might loop, etc.
