**The iPhone SE came out in 2016, not 2013. How I missed that I'll never know. Also, another screw-up somehow, the 6S and better is what you want for selfies, not the 6 and better** The $50 price tag is tough to argue with when it comes to SE. If you need a cheap smartphone, there's no question: the iPhone SE is the phone to buy. (Note that I'm using "$50" kind of liberally, but it is often found for the $50-60 range on ebay.com. Regardless, it's an insane deal.)

The SE is a fantastic bargain. I’ve had one for over 2 years and it’s a fantastic daily driver especially at that price point. I’ve replaced the battery once as the one in it was draining fast but it’s a great phone and I won’t be upgrading until it stops being supported or too slow to be usable (like the 4S) but I doubt that will ever happen again. I also like the 4 inch screen and it’s the perfect size for me.

@@QCUEZ nah i wouldn't say the xr is much better. sure, it's got a better camera better screen and newer a12 bionic chipset, but that doesn't make it a whole lot better... i have a xr 128gb in red and i love it. the battery is really good(usually lasts me 2 days sometimes longer if i'm not using it much), and the camera is spectacular.

Just recently bought this phone to use as a backup phone. I’ve been really enjoying it so far. So many reviewers are talking about it not being that great and it’s not as fast but a good deal for an iPhone. Let me tell you all right now...I’m used to flagship iPhones. I had the XS Max and my main device is the 11 pro Max currently. I’m used to oled displays with high resolution. I honestly didn’t notice really any difference in the screen quality between the 11 pro max and the se. it looks the same to me. now yes the se is a lot smaller but the only big difference I’ve noticed is that the se screen is not as bright. But when it comes to performance, gaming, video etc there’s hardly any differences. In my opinion it runs just as well as the 11 pro max does. It’s also been actually nice to go to a small phone again that doesn’t carry much weight in my pocket. That’s one thing I haven’t liked about the 11 pro max. Feels like a brick and gets uncomfortable while I’m walking out and about. Now there’s no way I can completely get rid of my 11 pro max but I love using the se for calls, texting, or when I go out. For video, gaming, and pictures I like the 11 pro max. Best of both worlds. The biggest issue and weakness of the se is battery life. Have to charge the phone around 2 to 3 times a day and I don’t even use it heavily. Compared to the 11 pro max which sometimes gets me 2 to 3 days of use until I have to charge it again

I’ve been an SE user since day one! I just love the size, that’s my biggest reason for keeping it. I have normal sized hands, but I love being able to not feel it in my pocket and being able to reach all 4 corners of the screen with my thumb. When the “SE2” gets announced soon, I may upgrade just because my SE is starting to show its age.

I have an iPhone SE and it’s an awesome little device. It’s super smooth and reliable. I got it for $100 CDN and put a new battery in it. It is so small and convenient for one handed use and still has all the functionality of the latest with the exception of Face ID and gestures like you mentioned. I have and iPhone 7+ and 8+ and it’s surprisingly competent in comparison. And the best looking design as well in my eyes.

Very happy apple included this and the 6s in iOS 14. These really are a fantastic bang for buck not just for people who *can't* afford a current model, but also for those who just don't *want* to spend $500+ on a new phone when they can get most of the features and app support of the latest models on a 50 dollar device. The 4 inch screen is not ideal for binging ad-supported media content like Apple and app developers would want you to, but is perfectly acceptable for use as a purposeful communications device.

I bought it new in 2016, my first iphone. I was amazed by ios and now in 2020 I am still using it. I had it 4 years everyday!!! Battery sucks, its only 80% out of the already small battery. I have a battery case 4000 mAh plus the 1300 functional inside the phone. I love it cause it has a 3.5 jack and ios. Wish Apple made a new compact phone with a jack

I purchased an SE a few months after it came out. Literally the only reason I upgraded was my SE started dropping calls/losing connection. Often I would have “no signal” in the top. If I had to bet I would wager I did physical damage to it. Lots of drops, scrapes, dents. It was a trooper.

Prices range. The cheapest ones I’ve found are the silver models. Space grey is the most costly. Prices range from $80-$130 depending on storage. Battery is abysmal but not bad if you keep a portable charger on you. Good phone, highly recommend as a back-up phone, first phone for a kid, iPod with touch ID.

here in 2021 I picked one up after wanting to try one I got a 128gb SE gen 1 for $60 battery @ 88% shipped in mint condition!! I was so happy I scored along with ios15 support it made me move from my 7 plus love it! Ill deal with the small battery I'm always near a charger or using another device.

just bought a near mint SE on ebay for 65 bucks with the original box. it had the papers and stickers in it as well no charger, brick or headphones but i figured getting those would be easier then getting an original box. the battery max capacity is 98%. and im pleased. i had bought it as a backup in case something happens with my s20 ultra.

I've had an iPhone SE but I switched over to iPhone 11, when the battery of my 2-year-old SE decided to stop charging. Still, it was at good phone, though. Sure, it was small and it took a while for me before I was used to the smaller size. You could see the difference, when I got my iPhone 11: typing on the bigger phone was way better for my big fingers!

My iPhone SE was the only iPhone I ever sold and till this day I regret it. Hands down one of my favorite iPhones. For what the SE is I think it's still a great phone if you don't mind a small screen. The body of the 5, 5S and SE were a great Apple design.

The Space Gray SE is the best looking iPhone of all time. It's slick, industrial, and flat out gorgeous. The color is absolutely stunning and is still in use with the 2016-2020 MacBook Pro's and the 2018-2020 MacBook Air. If this phone had an edge to edge display it would be a perfect match with the 2018 iPad Pro. It's the perfect Apple design. Hopefully Apple will resurrect this color for the iPhone 12. That would be Amazing!

Although 16 GB is hardly anything today, however my 2nd generation iPod touch has only 8 GBs, but I can still fit over 700 songs with a dozen videos on it. I also still use the iPhone 5s as a secondary phone and even that can still handle the majority of smartphone tasks today. The iPhone 5s just now got iOS 12.4.5. I'm sure while it won't run iOS 13, I'm sure it will still run all of the latest apps for at least the next couple of years on iOS 12.

I have an SE. I’ve had it for around 3 years. I don’t care if it doesn’t get iOS 14, I’ll still use it. I had a friend who only recently upgraded from a 4s last year. Because I only use the phone as, well, a phone, it still can go about 2.5 days without charging, I maybe spend 15 minutes a day total on it. When it inevitably dies in 9 years, I think I’ll get a feature phone anyway, like the modern 3310 remake.

I wish Apple made a new iPhone with the same design as the iPhone 5, better battery life, physical pushable home button with the tiny square on it, capable of Touch ID, better camera (perhaps Face ID included somewhere but keeping the same original design), and most importantly 4 inches display, because it feels so great to hold. I got my old iPhone 5, and it still works, and compared to the iPhone XR I have now, it's way more comfortable. An iPhone SE could be a good option for people that has an older iPhone or doesn't have an iPhone at all, however the iPhone 5 has a darker aluminum, which look amazing.

It's totally worth it. I got it like a week ago for only 40$. Home button is not working but I will fix that, I know that I will loose touch ID, but oh well... I use on screen button for now. But yeah, it's a great value anyway.

This SE is still my main device, on iOS14.3, and performance-vise it is still better than OK. I probably wait to see what Apple brings this fall, and then I migrate to the 12 mini, or to a hypothetical 13 mini pro (small sized iphone 13 pro). You can replace the battery with other brands as well, especially when you know that a genuine battery costs 5-6$ for Apple, and they charge you 50 for the replacement. So the main thing is size. If you are okay with that, it is a perfectly good phone, I recommend it.
