I target my workouts for muscle endurance by alternating days of hill repeat bicycling intense cardio and calisthenic pull ups push ups. I am currently doing 50 pull ups in a row, 1 min rest, 30 pull ups, 1 min rest, 20 pull ups = 100 pull ups in 3 sets, foot raise push ups, and plank ring rows, every other day. I use a doorway pull up bar with padded neutral (perpendicular) grips which distribute the pull between biceps, lats, and pecs. I hyperventilate deep breathe to stave off anaerobic mode as long as possible. This type of training optimizes fatigue resistance and functional strength rather than hypertrophy. But because of the time under tension, there is a decent amount of muscle hypertrophy as a side benefit. My BMI is 22.8. My recent personal best is 51 + 35 + 30 = 116 pull ups, but was kinda masochistic to be honest. It becomes cardio/blood flow limited at high reps.The world record is 651 continuous pull ups, so my 100 would be that dude's easy warm up. Update: new personal best of 53 pull ups in a row. Most days can only do 50. 50+30+20=100 pull ups is my every other day workout.

Great!! I prefer emom's starting at 30% of your max pull-ups reps and trying to reach 15-20 minutes or even 30min emoms.With this workout, it could be better to add 5 more sets but with 2min break between sets. It is like a drop set but instead of dropping weight you increasing the rest time. It is a very effective technique 😉.

During lockdown i did a workout inspired by fitnessFAQs many years ago. its very simple: 50 pull ups and 100 push ups as fast as you can. they have to be done as super sets, 10 pull ups followed by 20 push ups x 5. you can break ut the sets in between if u need to rest (for the later sets when fatigue kicks in), but you have to follow that order. when i first tried it i got 11 minutes i think. now my PR is 4 min and 54 seconds. try it out. the 4th and 5th sets are so though.
@Isaiiahii3 жыл бұрын
I started a new workout program 2 weeks ago where I do 100 pushups, 100 squats, 100 crunches, 50 body weight dips, and 100 curls with 20lb/9.1Kg with each arm. I do each exercise until compeletion as fast as I can while maintaining proper form (no cheating half reps). Seeing how fast I can do them and recording my times has made it a fun workout to do. So far my best time on the pushups is 3:19, squats 1:57(I go past 90 degrees but not quite all the way down), crunches 1:45, dips 3:32, Curls 4:56. I want to add pullups into this program but I have a left arm injury that gets trigger doing pullups :'(

Should I change the grips like:wide/shoulder/closed? Or just do normal pull ups?
@peterlowry69904 жыл бұрын
For me the wider the grip, the better and more rigid my posture has to be. I've always assumed that, so usually train wide. Even though most people will be stronger in narrow grips, these positions move some of the effort from your lats more onto your arms, which tire more quickly. To reeeeally get the high numbers I'd introduce wider grips to train the lats more. Although less transferrable to muscle ups, a wider grip puts you under the bar more and limits swinging. Hope that helps
