Another youtuber I watch had a reservoir like that on his well but the lid was missing. He went out to check the well, so he could use the water for his farm animals and there were two dead, decaying possums in it. I'm glad yours had it's lid! I said the same thing your wife said when that pipe came up out of the well. "Praise the Lord!"

Yea I was very reluctant to hire someone but I had already wasted so much time on this one and I had just barely avoided serious injury that I decided it just wasn't worth it to continue trying to fix it myself. There is strength in knowing one's weaknesses.
