As I try to get my neighbor to follow your easy way of digging a well, I noticed that he looses interest and begins to get side tracked by his own thoughts of how he could drill his well,in which even I can shoot down with my knowledge. Then I remembered that toil is the way of a man who won't listen and learn. All the while he drinks water from my well for years along with other freeloaders, all free of charge. I thank nature for being patient with me and I'm glad that I could help someone else via natures generosity. With that being said, I can see no part of nature that will help me pay my huge power bill or even by a house full of stubborn able bodied men. I thank you for your time and your kindness to help others. Your method is the best and easiest that I've researched for the terrain where I live in Fayette Ga. If I didn't already have a 450 ft well maintaining 380 ft of water I would surely use your method, on the lower side of the property for a sufficient shallow well, here in Fayette Co. Ga. Peace

I think you were successful at cleaning the well, the pump shutting off at 35psi is due to the pressure switch. Try replacing the pressure switch with a new 30/50 or 40/60 and see if that works.

Your well and pump is doing its job. You got 35 psi. Adjust switch for more psi. Also your tank may need replaced. Go with a air blater tank that saves pump from short on and off cycle. Your well is doing its job. It's giving you water. The bigger your pressure tank the better your long run pressure holds up.

I think if you have a check valve at the top and manual ball valve at the top of the well pipe plumbed as bypass, it would be super easy to pressurize the well to blow back the mud clearing it out just by opening

One time we had a fire truck come over to blow back the dirt with high pressure. It was a 4" pipe with a 3" submerged water pump inside. Pump was pushing water up instead of sucking it. Easier that way but we'll needed to be wife enough to house the pump. And pumo gets both electrical wiring and a rubber hose all the way down there.

Your water level is close to the limit of the pump above ground. Clean or not clean, or even a new pump may not change the flow. As the pump starts, the level goes down even more. You can dig a couple feet and lower the pump, and the flow will get better. It is not the depth of the well that matters. It is the actual distance between the pump suction and the water level. You also may be able to do better by using long elbows and a bigger suction pipe to lower the friction in your piping. It is equivalent to lowering the pump.

The pressure has nothing to do with the well, if your pressure switch turns off at 35psi you will only get 35 psi. If you set the switch higher and the pump keeps running without shutting off, you know you have reached the max pressure the pump can give you. Then set the pressure switch below that and you are good to go.

Your one comment about having a 25 foot pump in a 35-40 foot well. Many pump vendors have told me that the 25 foot depth for the pump is from ground to water. So if your land to water is only 10 feet the well point could go down as much as you wanted in reason. If someone thinks differently let me know. Thanks

Have been searching for answers as to how to clean the well and came across you. Heard also about using Hydrogen Peroxide. Have you heard of that and do you have any suggestion as to how to go about it? The well sat for several yrs. before we could actually finish the project, but it was really good water when it was drilled. Plenty of water. Any ideas as to how to clean the flex pipes out and all the rest too? Thank-you so much! Enjoyed your videos!

Question about the above ground pump you have there. I have a 200' well and want to pump the water under atmospheric pressure only (no pressure tank as it is now) to a 200g storage tank buried at ground level. The pump will fill this tank manually/daily by me as we use or via some kind of float valve keeping this ground level tank full. Then I'm thinking that the pump you showed at ground level could have water from my ground level tank piped to it and then connected into my water pipes. Is that correct? Is that pump the type that would take water from a ground level or 2' shallow water source and when the faucets opened up would pressurize the water to the home? Thanks for you info...I'm subscribing. I'm a DIY guy too and love the vid.

I'm not sure why you cleaned out the casing since the old pvc pipe came out easy and went back in easy ? I pulled out my 1 1/2 pvc pipe out to replace the bad foot valve. Had to use a skid steer to get the last 5 feet out and the skid steer back wheels came off the ground and the 1 1/2 pvc finally came out..scarry stuff. Well is a shallow irragation at 14 feet deep. The new pvc 1 1/2 diameter is not going down back in..no way jose. Stops where old one got stuck coming out. How do you clean the rust out of inside the casing. I put down 1 inch pvc to get the lawn watering again but lost volume/pressure as expected. Got a irragation sprinkler guy coming over for a zone problem soon and maybe he has a solution. Unfortunately the guy I know that punches shallow irragation wells punched into a underground power line and burned his feet and arms off... very heart breaking and my neighbor 5 property's down. I'll update on solution.

Works ok but the myers qp15 pump has a small leak in the shaft so pump housing leaks half way down and takes a minute to prime up.. 500.00$ for new pump. Gonna tear down pump this winter and fix. I have heard the Myers cast iron pumps are 50/50 on rebuild do to cast iron rusting where 0 rings set. 800.00 $ for that brand new.

I disagree with putting a check valve at the bottom. They can fail and need replacing. Also you can’t flush out the well point because it’s in the way. It should be at the very top above ground so it can be replaced. Also this well isn’t done correctly. It’s supposed to be sealed to keep out contaminants.

@@mikewhitehurst9558 yes I know, so am I. The line running into the ground really shouldn’t be able to pull out. It should also be sealed to prevent containments from getting in. Check valves are an item that can fail. In a normal well if you place it at the bottom it can’t be removed to replace. That’s why I recommend it at the top. Mine was installed in 2013 and still works fine but a small bit of sand can ruin it. I’ve never understood placing one at the bottom except it keeps the line full of water when you first prime it.
