Yes, it can be any day, they don't have to be consecutive.

I’ve a question: does it being the month of Shawwal have any significance? Say I fast 6 days in Shaban: those 6 days multiplied by 10 would be as if I fasted 60 days as well, and you add that to Ramadan it’d be 36 total days fasting x10 being approximately a year. My question is, why is it the 6 days of Shawwal when really it could be any 6 days outside of Ramadan that would make the math work just as well?

Okay so I have a question. I need some clarification. Can I fast the six days after I make up my fasts? Like does fasting any six days of shawaal count or does it have to be the first six days? I’ve got 9 days to make up and I wanna do that first since those days are obligatory. But I’m worried about the six days not counting. Please give me any feedback or clarification. Jazakallahu Karin

To my knowledge you are obliged to complete the fasting of the month of Ramadan first. So make up the 9 fasts as soon as possible, and then after that do the 6 days in the month of Shawwal for the extra reward. The 6 days do not need to be consecutive but you will need to squeeze in 15 fasts in total this month inshallah. Allah knows best.

From what I recall of my fiqh studies. Yes, you would need to make up an obligatory fast before making a voluntary fast.

Walaikumsalam Waramatullahi Wabarakatuh.. if you ask me.. I would do 6 days syawal 1st then Ramadan qada. This is my standpoint. For differ within scholars. More logical to me this standpoint . You decide which you belief for you and your family since there is different of opinion.Wasaalam

@@THEY255 be very careful when applying logic to deen, sometimes things can make sense to us when they're actually not true, we don't want to deceive ourselves the brother there is correct, you have to make up whatever obligatory fasts you missed before counting it as optional fasts

My point is Syawal fast must be done in Syawal but Ramadan qada can be done before next Ramadan maximum dateline. And there 2 opinions on scholars. So that’s what i mean. Tq anyway. Take care. No they cannot. The make up fast is different from shawwal fast. But Mufti Menk advised to observe the shawwal fast before the make up fast because shawwal lasts only for a month. Do you don’t want to miss it. But you have the other months to observe the make up fasts. Try observing the make up fasts before the next Ramadan. It’s best.

on eid ul fitr, which is the eid after ramadan, fasting is prohibited. you can start fasting after the day of eid. it is different for eid al adha, fasting is prohibited for 3 days after that eid. you can look it up from authentic sources)

You have to do your fards before nafil, brother. You cannot fast shawaal before your missed ramadan. Hope that helps.
