Usually when you see titles like ‘6 tips that will change your music’ it’s BS but this is honestly a good way of organizing the creative elements of producing in your head. Silence, Bounce, Melody, Nostalgia, Texture, and Enough I’m gonna write these down on a post it and keep it at my desk

On the subject of samples with bounce, I have a partial disagreement. I think yes, the silence does add the bounce. But I think, from a production standpoint, I would prefer the samples to not have the silence. Depends on the sample but, I feel like the silences that are adding the "bounce" are somewhat dictating where I would need to have a kick and snare/clap which would take away from a creative vision I feel like. I'm sure you've came across a cool sample but some sort of volume gate gets added to it, and like "damn wish i just had the dry sample". I think samples with no silence, gives me more control in a way. The bounce silences can be easily added/achieved through side chaining. Just my opinion.
